Our stay at Riad Slawi and with Adam are what made our trip to Marrakech so perfect. Before we even arrived, I communicated with Adam via email very easily to arrange airport transfers and dinner for our first night. Once we got there, he picked us up from the taxi drop off and carried our bags down the windy streets to the Riad. Over mint tea, we checked in and he gave us a map with excellent directions to Jemaa El Fna that we were able to easily follow. Throughout our stay, he helped us with navigation, food recommendations, and just chatting in general.
The riad itself is beautiful and well kept. It was pretty full during our whole stay, but never felt crowded or noisy. The Saba suite offered us a lovely respite from the hustle and bustle of the medina. The food at Riad Slawi is truly unbeatable. Breakfasts were delicious, but the dinners were FANTASTIC. Make sure you tell Adam in advance that you want dinner so it can be prepared for you — you will not regret it. The price is comparable to what you will pay elsewhere in the medina, but the quality is so much better. Ask for the eggplant salad!
I really cannot say enough praise for Adam and for our stay at Riad Slawi. I highly recommend it and am so glad that we took the advice of other TripAdviser reviewers to stay here!
Adam was very nice to organise pick up and meet us to walk us back to the Riad, you would never find it alone. You learn the routes of Marrakech very fast so don't be alarmed with the narrow streets and how to get home. The location of this Riad is very good as its out of the hustle and bustle yet keeping a more traditional experience of your stay. Its very close to a street that is a drop off and pick up for taxis so only 3-4min walk from the riad is the taxi rank, this helps if you are planning on going further or for the ride home to the airport, otherwise walking is the best way around.
The breakfast included was one of the highlights, every morning we got something different and both loved it. The bedroom was very comfortable and clean.

My wife and I (who are in our 70's) stayed in this hotel in March. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were particularly impressed with its owner. The Riad is a little difficult to find, but if you work closely with the owner he will make it easy for you. The accommodations are very good and the Canadian born owner is very good at directing you to where you want to go. The Riad is very quiet for sleeping even though it is in a busy local area. The traffic can be a little intimidating for an older person, but it also adds to its charm. You are close to the markets with a short walk. We thought this was an excellent place to stay given its location, management, and price.
