We had a great stay at Riad Ekla. The staff was very nice, especially Amine, who helped us a lot with explanations, guided us along the way, and was overall a very pleasant and friendly person. The riad was beautiful, and we really enjoyed the terrace. Breakfast was good, and the location is close to the main attractions, which made it easy to get around. The only thing to note is that the streets and neighborhood around the property can feel a little chaotic, but once inside, everything was wonderful.

Riad Ekla is in a great location, a few minutes walk from the main areas.

The staff at this riad blew me away before I even checked in. Moustapha (from the reception) was my first point of contact and before I even arrived he went above and beyond for my trip. The location of the hotel was perfect, just a 10/15 minute walk to the souks but tucked away for privacy. Moustapha seriously made our trip, from the start he welcomed us and made us feel at home. Anytime we needed anything; he was more than willing to help. We organized all of our excursions through him and I feel so grateful to have had the experience, I actually haven’t had as good of service anywhere in the world than here with them. They really want you to enjoy Marrakech and we felt that!

My partner and I absolutely loved our stay at Riad Ekla earlier this month. The riad itself is so beautiful, with a stunning mosaic pool area that was a perfect place to retreat back to after exploring the craziness of the medina. Our room was clean and comfortable, with all the amenities we needed. The rooftop terrace made for a lovely place to enjoy breakfast each morning too.
Location wise, we were very happy. It is well situated with shops and restaurants very nearby, but most importantly, felt very safe. It is in an easy location to navigate back to so we never felt lost either. Nonetheless, the staff very kindly would escort us to the main road each time we had booked a car or taxi, which was kind of them.
Speaking of staff, the team at Riad Ekla are what sets it apart from the other beautiful riads in the city. I’d like to particularly thank the manager Fakkharadine and the Moustaphas (Breakfast Moustapha and Receptionist Moustapha) for their generosity, warmth, friendliness and hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting you all and would enjoy chatting with you over our stay. Our riad was exactly as shown in the pictures. It has a wonderful design and ambiance. My spouse and I stayed in the cheapest package on the ground floor, so we could hear the sounds and laughter of people coming in and out of the hotel. It wasn’t too disturbing though. The breakfasts were very nice and cultural. The staff were both very attentive and always smiling. The room was cleaned every day. We felt safe and at peace. You can stay here comfortably and enjoy your time.
For those who want to explore Marrakech, you should know that the most striking place is the Jamaa El Fna square. The riad is about a 20–25 minute walk through the souks to the square. This is not really a problem, but if you want to return home from the square or the souks after 11 p. M. Some of the streets inside the market are closed. It’s not easy to find your way back using Google or other online map tools. At night, some people on the streets tell you that you won’t be able to find your way and they bother or intimidate you. If you accept their help, they demand a lot of money, and if you refuse, they can become aggressive and try to start a fight. Unfortunately, this was a bad experience for us. Aside from this issue, everyone was wonderful. Perhaps the hotel owners could give a warning about such situations in advance and provide guidance. Other than that, everything was excellent.
As Muslims, we normally use a bidet shower for cleaning, but unfortunately it was not available in the bathroom.

DO NOT RESERVE THIS HOTEL! THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY! I have made a reservation through Booking. They have charged immediately the entire amount of the booking. I have then cancelled the reservation within the time for FREE cancellation and the hotel DID NOT PAY THE MONEY BACK. They are not answering any of my messages, just completely ignore all messages I send. I am waiting for Booking to manage the situation. Incredible thiefs and scammers!

What a lovely hotel! It was perfectly located and the breakfast was amazing. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and really made us feel welcome. Random, but the hotel also smells amazing! The Medina is busy and this felt like a little oasis we could pop back to. Could not recommend highly enough.
I’ve noticed on previous reviews some people have complained for paying above the standard price for activities organised by the hotel, we found that they didn’t push these activities at all and we just simply said no. Don’t be put off by people complaining about that as it will happen in every hotel and not just in Morocco!

Excellent Riad we had an amazing stay. Breakfast was a traditional maroccan meal. The rooms were very nice. The staff was very helpful. Especially thanks to Mustafa and Abdel :)

From the moment we arrived at Riad Ekla, we felt completely at home. Mustafa went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, even helping us arrange a driver for our dinner reservations. The entire staff was incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile.
The location is perfect—just next to the medina, making it a short and easy walk to the souks. Yet, as soon as you step inside the riad, a sense of calm and serenity takes over. It’s a peaceful oasis away from the bustle of the city.
Breakfast on the rooftop was a daily highlight, and a fresh pot of Moroccan tea was always available. Special thanks to Ilyas, who was exceptionally warm and welcoming—he truly made us feel like part of the Riad Ekla family.
We can’t recommend this place enough and will definitely return!

I had a great experience here as a solo female traveler! The taxi has to drop you off 2 min walk from the Riad so call ahead and ask the staff to meet you in the street so people don’t take advantage of you with your luggage. All the staff were friendly and made sure I felt safe. Special thanks to Moustapha and Abdel! I was able to call and ask for help when returning from an excursion during the day and when walking to the Medina at night on my own. They both went above and beyond to help me and to make the experience enjoyable! Breakfast was also included here which was a plus :)

Lovely little riad off the busy main street. The riad is beautiful and perfectly decorated throughout. It's around 20 mins walk from the medina. You can not get to the hotel by car so I was slightly overwhelmed when the taxi dropped us on the busy main street.
The staff are very lovely, and extremely helpful. The riad has someone on reception 24/7.
The breakfast was lovely traditional morrocan style and there was plenty. They were happy to provide extra coffee every day as there's no facilities in the room.
The rooftop is beautiful and very peaceful we sunbathed for an hour each day there and it was very quiet. The view from the rooftop however is a rubble to the side and back where 2 houses now no longer exist.
The only thing that spoilt it for us was noise at night, we got room number 1 (there's only 10 rooms over 2 levels). This room was next to reception so everytime some one came in you heard everything, a group of people decided one night to chat in the lounge area and it was like they were in our room, the staff had said they ask people to be quiet after 11pm! This also means the light for the main area is on / off all night as people come in and out. So it did mean lack of sleep for most of our 4 nights stay. I did ask to move rooms but this didn't happen.
It was experience staying in a riad not sure I'd do ot again as I'm a light sleeper, but I have to give the Ekla a 4 star as all other areas spot on and it is very beautiful inside.
