Riad Azzar

Clean rooms, luxury linens. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were very cold in December. We departed in the morning before breakfast was served. If you would like to eat dinner at the riad, contact them before your arrival. We tried to reserve at 2 pm during our check in and we were told that was not enough notice. Deep in the medina, can be challenging to locate.

What to say… from the moment of booking, the personal messages from Asma for tips and any questions you might have, to the friendly welcome in the riad at our arrival day to now our departure, it have been amazing. The staff is so friendly, the breakfast is great. Just steps away from all the sights, you find yourself in a oasis of rest here. What really stood out was the staff, always available and friendly. Look forward in visiting again.

This Riad is extraordinary! I stayed here for four nights earlier this month.
The room was large, beautifully appointed, and elegant. The bed was super comfortable and the AC worked perfectly. The water pressure in the shower was very powerful.
Ayoub and Hisham are exceptional! They made my stay more than perfect. They are two very kind, friendly, helpful, professional, and knowledgeable young men who go out of their way to ensure you are happy and having a positive experience.
Breakfast each morning was modest, very fresh, and presented beautifully. It was the perfect start to the day.
The Riad is only about a five minute walk to Jemaa el-Fna (the main square).
An important thing to note: The 39 in the Riad's phone number is Italy's country code, so you are calling Italy.
I highly recommend staying here!

I had a lovely time here at the Riad, the staffs were amazing and I had very filling breakfasts too. You can also book a cab from the riad to the airport, the staff is super helpful with that!

Located in the heart of the Medina, near the main square, the Riad Azzar is a little oasis.
Quiet, with the sound of bird song, is the perfect place to return after dealing with all the hustle and bustle of Marrakesh. The staff cannot be faulted, friendly and attentive, who go out of their way to assist guests with anything they need, Isham was particularly helpful :) A fantastic breakfast is provided which is the perfect way to start your day. Asma was extremely helpful in arranging taxi transfers from the airport as well as booking us a souk guide, Omar, who was excellent and well worth doing. She also arranged for our boarding passes to be printed as you cannot use your phone at the airport — 5 stars!

What a great stay at "Riad Azzar. " This Mr. & Mrs. Smith hotel (powered by Hyatt) is located in the middle of the Medina — a maze with shops, snack bars, street food and close to the Djemaa el Fna Square which is the center and the "place to be" in Marrakech.
The hotel itself offers a sumpteous and tasty breakfast on the rooftop overlooking the medina. In the evening you can smoke the shisha and enjoy a chilled beer.
Since the hotel is located in the medina you reach all the sights easily on foot: Quoran school Ben Youssef, the tanneries, the Koutoubia mosque, the Saadiya Tombs, the splendid Bahia palace etc.
We did not have dinner at the hotel but Riad Azzar offers it.
All in all we spent great 5 days there and had fantastic holidays in Marrakech.

Excellent riad, comfortable clean and quiet, centrally located but tucked away in a small street. Great breakfasts. But best of all are the staff who could not have been more welcoming, helpful and kind, willing to go the extra mile. Really nice people.

I can't reply to you on booking as you cancelled our stay after seeing my review. To others reading this, we stayed 2 nights — 27th-29th of March. I'm going to leave the proof here that we paid, people can judge themselves who has lied here (as of today, the host claims and has told booking we left the hotel and never paid). From our perspective, this matter is less about the actual price difference but more about the principal of using unfair exchange rates and the treatment we got from the host and staff.

Tucked away in a quiet corner of the Medina, this lovely Riad seemed miles away from the hustle and bustle of the souks and El Fnaa, rather than only 5 minutes walk. We received a warm welcome from super helpful staff. Our room on the ground floor next to the small central plunge pool was comfortable and spacious. We had one delicious dinner in the rooftop restaurant while every breakfast was excellent. We hope to return!

We loved staying in Riad Azzar. It was perfectly placed between the north and south medinas for sightseeing and exploring Marrakech to the full. Very peaceful with a lovely atrium and clean and prettily decorated room. The breakfasts were magnificent and delicious and very generous. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive and supportive — Hicham and Ayoub in particular were fantastic! We enjoyed a great tour with Omar arranged by Asma, who was ever ready to supply information and make arrangements. Would definitely return.

The Riad is within the Medina but a pleasant oasis nonetheless. The staff was hospitable and kind.
Our issue was with our room. The room is very cold during the month of January. There is a small heater in the room but it doesn’t get the room warm enough. The room was set to 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit) but I still felt really cold. I live in Seattle and I usually set my house to 68 degree Fahrenheit and feel comfortable. That is how I know the temperature doesn’t even reach 68 degree Fahrenheit.
Also they have cold stone/marble flooring. Just stepping the floor will wake you up because it was so cold. They offered paper thin slippers but doesn’t do much.
This could be a pleasant experience maybe during the warmer months but then not sure if the ac unit will work.

Riad Azzar is located in a nice area of the Medina.
The rooms were top quality, with comfortable beds, modern bathrooms, etc. We stayed with our parents and enjoyed the Riad.
The staff and owner Asma were super nice and the service felt personal with each staff member knowing the guests names.
The only downside is if you arrive after 1pm, taxis cannot get into the medina and you need to coordinate someone to help carry your luggage through the busy old town to arrive.
Would overall recommend this hotel!

The rooms are romantic, very nice food either. They help everybody so well and stay in the RIAD too. This makes it possible to have 24 hour service. We go surely back here!

From the moment we arrived Asma and her staff made us feel so welcome. We accidentally booked the double room and because it was available Asma moved us to the two twin room, which was perfect for us. She had put so much thought into each and every corner of Riad Azzar. We especially loved the full length mirrors and natural light in each room.
I wish I could give the staff more than 5 stars. Hicham and Ayoub were very helpful with suggestions and helping us through the Medina with our luggage, which was above and beyond. The most remarkable was the (included) breakfast that Soumiya prepared for us, it was stunning and delicious. She makes everything homemade, including THE best fresh yogurt.
Thank you to the entire staff for giving us this beautiful place to relax and call home for 3 nights!

Riad Azzar is a beautiful oasis in the Medina. It was convenient to what we wanted to see, yet a world apart once inside. The staff of the riad were exceptionally nice and went out of their way to make our stay as wonderful as possible. The breakfast was extraordinary as was the evening meal. We liked it so much that my husband insisted we eat in most nights. It should be noted that the riad is across the square, so if the square is closed for festivals or holidays, a taxi cannot get you directly to the hotel, even if arranged through the riad. When we arrived from the airport, they met us with a porter who took our luggage, but after traveling for 18 hours, the walk in the sun was overwhelming to us. However, in hindsight, it was not that far away. Nevertheless, if we return to Marrakech, we would most certainly book Riad Azzar again.

Riad Azzar is a fantastic escape from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech Medina, just minutes from the main square yet a world away. The rooms are individual, with Moroccan styling and very comfortable. The breakfast was very special and served in the sunshine on the rooftop. The team were incredibly attentive especially the very professional gentlemen who provided a warm Moroccan welcome and looked after us during our stay.
Definitely worth a visit.
