Riad Argan

This riad is absolutely perfect. So clean, fresh and quiet after the chaos of the medina. Excellent location being in the heart of the medina with a beautiful room and the most comfortable bed and luxurious bedding.
It can be difficult to find, as the medina is like a maze but the lovely staff, Ayoub in particular, walked us to meet our taxi/tour guides (even at 3am in the morning). He prepared breakfast for us on the lovely rooftop restaurant and made us breakfast to take with us on days we left early. Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality, I hope to visit again and would definitely recommend this Riad to anyone visiting Marrakech.

We had a lovely stay at Riad Argan. A nice location tucked away from the business of Medina but still very accessible to all the Souks and nearby restaurants.
We loved the rooftop, our rooms and the service from all staff was great. They made us feel comfortable and were very friendly and accomodating!

Wow! We had the best stay at Riad Argan, firstly the position is perfect, book your taxi through the Riad then when the taxi drops you someone will be there waiting for you to walk you the short distance through the medina to the riad. It is a five minute walk and yes part of it is down a dark alley way, but there is a light and other residents would always speak. I suggest when you go out, you take a couple of photos so you can get back with ease! The riad is so lovely, very traditional in looks and feel. Spacious room, there is no tea/coffee making facilities but the staff offer you mint tea at every opportunity. Breakfast was served each morning in the roof terrace, every breakfast was different and plentiful, we really enjoyed all the different offerings. Every member of staff were so very friendly particularly the manager Abty and the other young lad who we apologise for not knowing his name. There is a TV on the ground floor and my husband was able to watch football on it one evening. We went off for 3 days on a mini trip and the riad stored our bags for us then when we returned the bags were in our room waiting for us. When we left a taxi was arranged for us and we were assisted to the carpark (5 minutes walk away) with our bags. Highly recommend staying in this riad.

Riad Argan is a little gem in the heart of the Medina. When we arrived at RAK, a driver was already waiting outside to pick us up. He helped with our luggage as well, and the host met us where the road ends to guide us to the Riad as vehicles cannot enter the alleyways. We got to check-in early for free, were welcomed with moroccan tea which was available on demand multiple times throughout our visit.
Breakfast was included which was mainly crepes, jams, butter, bread etc…all of the items that our group gladly would eat.
The room was beautiful, hot showers were available, terrace was really nice with beds, pillows and blankets provided to gaze at the stars.
The location was amazing as it was walking distance from all the attractions and food. The host did an amazing job to always be accommodating to us and we loved having conversations with him.
We would definitely return again if we are ever in Marrakech.

Riad Argan is very central in a quiet street in the old town. Once you get your bearings of the streets, it is a great location. Ayoub was the best host, such a kind man, and willing to do anything to make your stay in the Riad and Marrakech great. We had a dinner on the first night which was very good. The rooms were clean and tidy. The only issue we had was the hot water in the shower being consistent and the pillows could do with changing as they are not that comfortable. We wanted to extend our stay but unfortunately it was full but Ayoub found us another great place to stay. His hospitality and the team made it so memorable we will be returning to Riad Argan and recommending it to everyone.

I cannot recommend this wonderful gem highly enough! I’d rather it was kept a secret, but if you’re looking for a well priced, comfortable, friendly and beautiful Riad then this is your place! Fantastic value but the people make it. Ayoub, the manager, is nothing short of superb! Professional, welcoming, accommodating and super friendly, he made our trip! Nothing was too much trouble! Fatima, the owner, really knows her market! She was also friendly, knowledgeable and very welcoming. We were welcomed with mint tea and local information. The rooms are so comfortable and so very pretty! Everything you need is right there……beds (obviously) air conditioning, fantastic hot and powerful shower, good towels, a good bathroom with mirror and hanging space for your clothing and it is so clean! Full length mirror in the room.
Breakfast……. Absolutely perfect! We never had the same breakfast twice! The home cooking is excellent. Pastries, cake, breads, eggs, fruit, fabulous coffee and local mint tea all served in the gorgeous little dining area. There is a fantastic roof terrace to enjoy a drink in the late afternoon, soft furnishings, sun beds, tables and chairs…. But intimate enough for some privacy. The other staff were also fantastic! It’s quiet too as it’s just off the main thoroughfare.
Once you leave the quiet of the Riad, a couple of left turns and you’re in the thick of the souk…. A short walk to the square and the full Marrakesh experience awaits! Excellent all round!

Amazing place with wonderful team, I am so happy I found this place and I will go back. It has just been refurbished, painted and new tiles laid on the rooftop. It is extremely clean (I'm a bit of maniac) and the service is of high quality. Food and drinks can be ordered and extra services such a massage… with the safety of quality of service. I really fell in love with the place, solo woman travelling, it is very close to Jemaa el Fna (5min walk), I felt very safe walking around alone and there's great lighting and a security camera at the entrance of the Riad. I could go on and on, Riad Argan is really the place to be. Not expensive and top notch quality.

Tagine are the "cheeseburger " of morocco; Nayimas are the best in the land. You can get to know everyone that you're staying with. Ayub is awesome and caters to all of his guests. He explained tea and made it cool for everyone there. I don't know how the temp could be so high but the pool was freezing it saved the day.

Ayoub and his team are so lovely and really made us feel at home. Always on hand to offer advise, cups of tea, olives or buiscuits, he even got up early when we had excursion days to give us breakfast. The breakfasts were lovely and showcased a few different local treats and made for a great start to the day.
The riad is peacefull and clean with a 10 minutes stroll to the main square, which is close enough to the action but far enough away from the bustle to make it feel homely. There are plenty of excelent restaurants on the same street including Naranj and Black Chick and many more. The newly done up roof top is a nice break away from the bussiness of the streets. The large taxi rank is close by also so makes excusions and day trips easy to sort out.
We cannot recommend this Riad enough, if we find ourselves back in Marachesh there is no where else id like to stay.

Riad Argan is an absolute gem and arguably the best place to stay in Marrakesh! From the moment I arrived, I was warmly greeted and made to feel at home. The level of customer service here is truly exceptional—every member of the staff goes above and beyond to ensure your stay is perfect. They are attentive to every detail, always ready to assist with a genuine smile, and make you feel like a valued guest.
The ambiance of the riad is stunning, combining traditional Moroccan elegance with modern comfort. The rooms are immaculate, beautifully decorated, and incredibly comfortable. The courtyard is a peaceful oasis, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring the city.
What really sets Riad Argan apart is the personal touch the staff provides. Whether it's helping arrange tours, offering personalized recommendations for dining, or even surprising you with little treats, they consistently exceed expectations.

Very disappointing experience, beware of false accusations**
Unfortunately, our stay at this riad was a very unpleasant experience. After leaving a negative review, we received false accusations from the riad, claiming that we had returned drunk. This is completely untrue, as we do not drink. It's sad that the riad resorts to such accusations to justify a poor experience. If they have any proof, they are welcome to show the camera footage.
Additionally, the riad alleged that we tried to bring men inside, which is also completely false. In fact, the area felt very unsafe, to the point where we couldn't even walk outside alone. Whenever we went out with friends, they had to pick us up because we couldn't rely on the riad for any help. This felt like a total scam, and I can confidently say this is not a good place to stay.
The riad also claims to have a rooftop terrace where you can smoke, but this 'terrace' turned out to be a rundown roof covered in mud, dirt, and insects. Instead of taking responsibility, they accused us of using drugs there, which is entirely fabricated. We did not disturb anyone, and it’s disappointing that this riad stoops to such low tactics.
As a trusted reviewer, I absolutely do not recommend staying at this riad. If you still choose to do so, you'll likely have the same experience and regret your decision.

We had the pleasure of staying here for three nights. The hospitality of Ayoub was second to none. He collected us from our transfer, walked us back on our last day, he got up at 02.30 to make us breakfast. He truly made our stay.
This riad is in the very heart of the Medina but once inside, you can’t hear any of the hustle and bustle of outside. Breakfast was amazing with different breads, jams, eggs, coffee, orange juice, fruit.
We came home early one evening and played cards, Ayoub appeared with a plate of fruit for us. The lad could not have done more for us. They provide chess, cards, plus other games and background music. On arrival you are welcomed with tea as Ayoub tells you about the area. Also, lovely hot water in the shower. This truly is a gem of a riad made extra special by Ayoub.

The only bad thing about the room was very close at the entrance of the riad so we can hear people enter and going out often.
Overall I will come back here again :)

The rooms looked nice, but we were placed in one that smelled strongly of sewage. We had to wash all our clean clothes in our suitcase because the odor permeated them.
Additionally, there was a leak under the bathroom sink from the pipe when the tap was running. It may or may not be related, but it needs to be addressed as soon as possible.
Wouldn’t stay here again — many other nicer riads in the Médina.

We spent 4 nights in this wonderful Riad. A typical Moroccan designed building with a small indoor pool. Ayoub, Mohamed & Naima who was running the Riad during our stay were absolutely fabulous in their service, attention, patient, courteous and affection toward us in dealing with our queries or request. Nothing was a problem for them and always greeted and done with a big smile. I could not praise any higher than say it was the best service we have received in our life. The location was ideal for traveling to the Souks and Médina, the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa was 4 mins away. On behalf of all of us I wish to say to all the staff and management Shukran Habibi and waha waha.

My first time in morocco and was priviledged to stay in this gorgeous riyad. They gave the best stay and experience of Morocco. They were accommodating and efficient to make my stay enjoyable. I opt to get the dinner and pick up from train station, I love hassle free so I book my tours with them. Ayoub you are the best and Dunya your meals are sumptuous.
