Las Palmas Maya Hotel

We visited Tulum in February for our friends wedding and we are so happy we decided to stay at Las Palmas Maya. The location is absolutely perfect! We walked across the street and through the most unique walkway to spend the day and watch the sunrise on the beach each morning. Not too mention the restaurant where the beach access is, has some of the best fish tacos and salsa bar. Matcha Mama is just a few minutes up the street with the best Acai bowls I've ever had. However, we did not have to go anywhere for the most amazing breakfast. Las Palmas Maya has their own restaurant with a great menu. I may go back just to have their delicious avocado toast. Our host Tom was one of the most friendly and upbeat guys I've ever met. He went out of his way multiple times to make sure all of our needs were met. We stayed in the treehouse sweet which was perfect. We had a balcony overlooking the street and the room was incredibly comfortable. After a full day of adventure, we slept perfectly with the AC at night. Las Palmas Maya also had great cell service and fantastic coffee in their communal kitchen for our daily phone calls home. We were able to walk to or take a short taxi ride to all of the weekly wedding events. We took the bikes on a 35 minute bike ride to Gran Cenote and a 15 minute taxi ride to the Tulum Ruins… each trip, totally worth it! Tulum is an amazing place and Tom and LasPalmas Maya made the week incredibly stress free and peaceful. Thank you Tom!

Rooms are big and have cold A/C. Showers are hot and lots of pressure.
Complimentary coffee ☕️ in the morning and the staff are always greeting you with a smile
The breakfast served at the hotel is delicious with lots of different options to try.
Tom is the most gracious host I think I’ve ever encountered, always had us pointed in the right direction for a great meal and all the fun spots everyone should experience and enjoy while you visit. He goes above and beyond to make your experience the most enjoyable it can be and that in itself is priceless and that’s why we will be going back. Graciás Tom and staff.

Such a nice place, we always enjoy our stay with Tom & Malika at “las Palmas Maya” The children were so happy, the rooms very confortable, excelent bed and a delicious breakfast We feel like at home!

We checked in at Tulum, then stated to look for something to eat, we checked 4 restaurants and all they could offer for vegetarians was a salad. Then we came across Las Palmas Maya pure vida CAFE, this is a must check out place. We were welcome by Malika, just looking at her welcoming smiling face, you had to order something. We ordered, mango yogurt smoothie and southern Cherly, this was so healthy with no added sugar. She made vegetarian Fajitas and breakfast burrito with fruits on the side, this tasted sooo good. When we were eating, a couple checked in and Tom welcomed them. I am telling you, he is so good with customer service, it's like he knew these guest. He was telling them about the Island. When they left he came to check on us to see how things were going. He was very nice and he asked us if we need any help about the Island. He gave us some advice, you don't know how much that meant to us. He is American origin we could communicate very well. We travel a lot we were worried about the communication since we don't speak Spanish. Better than Places like Bangkok, Colombia.

We had a wonderful stay in late December 2017! The rooms are clean and have everything you need. Tom and Malika were attentive hosts. They took the time to answer all of our questions and offer great suggestions on where to go. Coffee was delicious, served every morning in cute mugs. Paradise!

Tom and Malika at Las Palmas Maya are amazing hosts. Tom is super friendly and attentive and always there when we needed him. He runs the place well, ensuring you have the best time there. He knows so much about the local area you won't ever need a tour guide!
Las Palmas itself is also a great hotel. It's not directly on the beach. But it is so close that you will be in the water after less than a minutes walk across the road! The whole place is run "off the grid" using power from the sun (with a backup generator, just in case). There's also pretty decent Wi-Fi considering it's in the national park. Las Palmas also boasts a kitchen, if you don't feel like going out for food just cook something in-house! Easy! My partner and I love it here! We hope to come back soon! :)

This is the Place that you Seek! Tom is an Amazing Host and the Bungalows are Most Excellent!

Loved staying in the jungle-like, almost beach-front property. The kitchen is super handy and you have a lot of freedom to eat/buy whatever you want. The big super market is quiet a ways down the road so having a car rental was helpful. The staff was great and we really enjoyed communicating with everyone on site. The rooms are super clean and we really liked the mosquito net, it was very helpful because the bugs in this area are fierce. Tom was awesome at pointing out all the good spots and a fun companion. The breakfast and coffee on site was yummy and exceeded expectations. It's the shortest walk away from the beach and we even saw baby turtles run toward to ocean for the first time. Our stay here was definitely a highlight of our vacation, and we went to an all inclusive after this!

Best place to stay in tulum on a budget. Staff are awsome and help alot to make your stay great. Booked two nights ended up staying 8. A big thanks to Ruban and his hospitality.

We cannot sing enough praises for Las Palmas Maya! Tom and Malika are wonderful people and treated us like we were long lost friends. Upon arrival, Tom gave us a spot-on rundown of Tulum — — places to see, things to do, and where to eat! We plan to marry in Tulum in May and Tom even introduced us to our wedding planner, Mindy, whom we adore. The rooms at Las Palmas are spacious, exceptionally clean, and very comfortable. The pride Tom and Malika take in maintaining the property is evident and we are so excited to return next year and share Tulum and Las Palmas Maya with all of our family and friends!

The place is ok and clean. The atmosphere is cozy and the location is good. To get to the beach you have to cross the Om hotel which is just in front. We only stayed there two days, and the owner/host Tom was hangover (or still drunk) the times we met him. He even forgot that we already had paid him and wanted us to pay him again. He is friendly though. We stayed the night before in the Turquesa camping just some houses down the road and it was cheaper and the service was much better.

We did not stay at this establishment. We went there for breakfast. The smoothies were very good. It is on the other side of the street that does not get a breeze. They were very accommodating by putting fans out to create a breeze.

People there are very nice. They help you with all your needs. However, it is very hot. Only fans.

Best place to stay in Tulum! Hands down! Tom was fantastic and made sure we had everything we needed and all of our questions answered. We will be back!

Great customer service, awesome owners, nice rooms. No air con but ceiling fans and additional fans are provided. There is a community hammock/lounging area as well as a community kitchen. The location is walking distance to restaurants and other hotels and only steps away from the beach. Price is affordable and the staff make you feel comfortable and welcome. Will come here again.
