We were very impressed with the quality of the resort. All the restaurants were amazing, and even the buffet had good food. I've heard of people complain that resorts water down the alcohol, that is definitely not the case here. We mainly drink rum and it was quality rum, the same stuff I like to drink at home and was definitely just as strong. The pool entertainment staff was a lot of fun, but you will get pulled up if you dont look like you are doing anything! So keep that in mind if you don't like to participate. The only down side was the beach was so covered in seaweed that it was unusable, it absolutely stunk. It really didn't matter though as we just hung around the pool anyways.

Went from Sunday to Saturday with my girlfriend for the all inclusive stay. Beautiful resort but mediocre service from bartenders. Food was decent but need to wear pants and can’t wear tank tops in restaurants. AC in the room but needs to be colder due to the humidity in Mexico. Liquor was good but anything you mixed liquor with just tasted terrible. Beach was covered with seaweed the whole time due to storm which isn’t the resorts fault but still a bummer. Bunch of activities to do still. All in all I would recommend this resort if you’re looking for a couples getaway at a nice resort.

If you’re looking for a relaxing beach vacation this is NOT the resort for you! I’ve stayed at other resorts in the area and this is the most unusable beach I’ve ever been to. It’s steep, rocky, smelled, and covered in seaweed. We talked with other guests and everyone had the same comment how they couldn’t use the beach. The rooms were spacious and clean with a massive balcony and a jacuzzi tub on the balcony. The service was the highlight of the trip and all staff was welcoming. The food was inconsistent and room service had a very small menu. Sometimes it was decent and other times inedible. The hibachi restaurant was the best meal and the chef was entertaining and the food was delicious. The pools are beautiful, but many tiles were coming off the main pool. All in all if I wasn’t expecting a beach it would have been a 4 Star experience. If you choose to go make sure you have realistic expectations.

The hotel was nice. Service was great and the staff were all very helpful! The only issue was the seaweed on tje beach, but that can't be helped and they were working hard to clean it up! The food was amazing as well both in the buffet and various restaurants. Highly recommend.

Here for 2 weeks. So far it's amazing. Food is fantastic compared to all of the other resorts I've stayed at. Staff is excellent. Amenities are spectacular. Lots to see and do. I'm big on wild life and we have seen some cool creatures while here.

Had planned to enjoy relaxing on the beach only to find the beach covered in seaweed! So thick it would be impossible to walk through to get into the water. When asked, no one seemed to have any idea of how to get rid of it. Even though can't be responsible for the weather the walking paths were very slippery after days of on and off rain. This being an adult only location you would think the pool bars would stay open instead of closing at 6pm! I'm only in day 2 of a 6 day vacation, and I am more than ready to go!

The hotel has excellent facilities, but the attention of several employees leaves a lot to be desired and they do not visit RODEO Restaurant.

Friendly and professional staffs. Clean facilities. Coffee and bread are good. I like the fish and steak in the buffet. Staying in the platinum Yucatan princess has access to the princess resort and restaurants beside it. We went to one of the restaurant in the princess resort and did not go back again. Platinum Yucatan princess is better. Restaurants and facilities are better and higher class. Waiters and waitresses in platinum Yucatan princess are more friendly.

Excellent place very happy the services very nice all the staff very attentive I recommend it is going to happen very father.

I very much enjoyed my stay at this resort. Rooms were clean and had everything we needed. The resort was also very clean and accessible to those with special needs (elevators ramps etc). I enjoyed the resort being adult only and it was very quiet and relaxing. The activity pool has the usual music and activities but the back pool was so peaceful it almost felt like a private pool. Servers were exceptional and both the buffet and restaurants had great food. The buffet even had a lobster night that was included in all inclusive. The activities were great and once again instructors for the water exercise accommodated for my medical concerns so I wasn't left out. There are some area of the buildings rooms that aren't as well kept with occasional broken corners or scratches but I still found the resort clean. I would definitely return.

First, 100% recommended… The warmth of the staff is incomparable and the food a delicacy of the gods!

Overall a very positive stay at this hotel. We came for four nights and tried out different restaurants each night. The food has been overall really good. Some of the items for the breakfast and lunch buffets were mediocre but that seems like every buffet. For the pools and beach, the hotel has multiple towel stands but more than once they were out of towels when I was asking for one. That seems like an amenity to keep up to me. The pools themselves and the beach have been great though. Plenty of available beach chairs at the beach and food/entertainment as well.

Very nice structure, managed in an excellent way as you notice the accuracy with which all the staff is instructed to pamper the guest staying at the resort. There is a great deal of attention to the cleanliness of the spaces, to the variety of the food, of excellent quality and ready to offer news with culinary evenings, to the entertainment that reaches exciting levels with the theatrical performances represented by artists of Great talent. You really can't blame anything on the organization. The negative points in fact do not depend on inefficiency but natural factors such as humidity that permeates the environment, algae that make it unpleasant to bathe in a sea that is also quite murky. I also highlight the little central location which makes the taxis necessary for any displacement and the exaggerated prices of the shops present. Would only the entrance to the resort which I found rather bare and sad compared to the beauty of the resort. It is a structure not offered by Italian tour operation so the clientele is of other nationalities, so also for the excursions there will be local referent on the spot but we must provide for themselves with external agencies, I turned to "travel merchants" that organizes Itineraries for Italians on holiday in Yucatàn and I had a great time.

UPDATE: So after a few days of staying here, I have to update this review. The food at the restaurants are very sub par. It seems as though each of the restaurants food all come from 1 over-salted kitchen with a slightly different take. The seafood was also very fishy. Other then the food (which was quite disappointing) this resort was still a very nice place to stay at. Great 5 star resort. You have access to both the adult only section which is quiet and very contemporary/modern, and the family sections at the Grand sunset and Grand Riviera. The resort as a whole pretty much has everything you could want and the staff are friendly, courteous and very delightful.

We hit the jackpot with our 1st ever all-inclusive with the Platinum Yucatan Princess resort. The resort was pristine with all the staff looking after anything and everything that was needed and even keeping on top of all maintenance, preventative maintenance… how awesome is that! We loved our room… beautiful and so clean and up to date. The staff went above & beyond for anything we requested… sometimes we did not have to even ask and our needs were taken care of. However, we met many guests also from Canada, who paid much less for their accommodations. Why? The food… let's talk about the food… fresh… made beautifully with so much variety… nothing to even compare in our life and wildest dreams. We met couples who have been going to all-inclusive ' for years and now they have been visiting Platinum Yucatan Princess for many years now and will continue not even bothering to go anywhere else. We loved EVERYTHING about Platinum Yucatan Princess.

The rooms were very nice, updated, and modern. AWESOME bathrooms. They had places of shoddy craftsmanship and disrepair, however. (Peeling paint, fixtures that were built unevenly or off center, paint all over the trim) Food was good, not great, and certainly not amazing. (Why would it be? You're going to eat it anyways. They already have your money! ) The only restaurant that looked like it had amazing food was the Skylight restaurant, which of course is not included and is very pricey. Drinks were great, they don't skimp on the alcohol. They don't come shaken or stirred, so make sure to stir your own drinks. Beach was less than fortunate. It was completely worn away and had a 4 foot drop off. It was built up with some sort of aquatic plant life washing up (photo) Staff was very friendly and helpful (aside from one snoot in the Yucatan buffet). Overall experience was lovely, however. It was a beautiful long weekend with my wife for our 5 year anniversary. We would do an all inclusive again, but probably not this resort. Recommendation to the resort: Do something about the beach. It's awful. Make special packages for the Skylight restaurant for special occasions. Give more attention to the minor details of maintenance — chipping/peeling paint is ugly. Limit smoking to designated areas.

Excellent luxury hotel for adults. To get out of the rut and indulge in the Mayan Riviera.

Poor rooms. The staff were very friendly and attentive. It's not worth it.

It is a beautiful resort and very safe. Watch out for scheduling tours with Nexus at the hotel. They are not able to tell time. The staff at the hotel is incredibly friendly and very accommodating. Their service makes you feel like you are at a Marriott.

Gorgeous hotel and grounds. So many quaint relaxing places to sit and relax. Excellent service and great food. Every meal was enjoyable. Staff were always nice friendly and helpful. The resort was wonderful I would return any Day!

TLDR: Do NOT use the safe in the room. Someone (potentially a cleaner who replaces the towels in the evening) has access to it and will take your money. Your credit cards and personal information is NOT safe in there. I would have put 5 except money was stolen from our safe in the room at night when they came to replace the towels in the evening. We were missing 500 pesos when we counted our money at 7:30pm Friday night. We had a total of $650 ($500, $100, & $50 bills) pesos left over which we needed for gas for our rental car. We put that money in the safe in our room and went to dinner around 8:15pm. When we returned at 10pm, the towels had been changed (which happens every evening. ) Saturday morning we gas up and and, when we go to pay, we realize our $500 bill has been replaced with a $100 bill (they're similar in color so it looks like they swapped it out hoping we wouldn't notice. ) Overall, the hotel, staff, food, and amenities were great. I am extremely disappointed that the "safe" wasn't safe at all. We had our credit cards and personal information in there and now have to replace those, too. Do not use the safe — bring your own lock and lock your suitcase. This experience really turns me off wanting to ever stay here again. I would just recommend being careful with your things and don't feel anything in your room is safe unless you lock it up with your own lock.

Large clean room. The aroma restaurant is delicious. The beach is OK. The buffet at the pace.

Great place to visit for our winter vacation — the Platinum Princess is adults only and a step above the Riviera and Sunset Princess hotels, design-wise, and the restaurants are surprisingly above-average. Staff are friendly and accommodating, and the pools and beach are far less crowded than those next door. We met several guests who are back on their second or third trip back, and we would definitely return ourselves. Highly recommended!

Looks lovely, but not quite comfortable. Worst of all were the large numbers of very drunk young people. A lot of screaming, yelling and Mexican techno-pop music being played all day. This place does not water down their drinks… they should. On a positive note, the room cleaning staff at this resort are the finest I have encountered in ten years travelling the world. All staff are lovely. Oh, forgot to mention, when our toilet kept overflowing, we were advised by the front desk that the metal garbage can beside the toilet was where used toilet paper should be deposited. I'm simply stuck for words on that one. We kept using the toilet. They kept coming up with a plunger.

We stayed at this Princess adult only hotel for four days at the end of Dec. And was very impressed with the professionalism and service by the hotel staff. The downsizes were that it was pretty empty for a busy season and made the resort feel desolate. The food was okay, Rodeo is by far the best, but in between meal times the “snack” options are very bad (basic sandwiches, hot dogs and burgers). Also the room service was particularly limited in selection, especially for breakfast, so if you have early morning flights or excursions — you are probably going to be going hungry. The pools were nice but very shallow. The beach was great for sitting, but the actual sandy part of the beach was not what I expected. It was very small and we had to walk to the neighbouring resorts to actually get enough space for beach sports.

Excellent adults-only resort! Very good value, nice modern rooms, unbelievable food. Service great everywhere except for a rude bell-hop. 4 amazing a-la-carte restaurants and an outstanding buffet. A few tiles in the pool missing but others exaggerate the risk of foot injury. Beach is decent though water has lots of rocks unless you move 40 metres down by the other princess resorts (which you have full access too). Spa prices way too expensive, walk 10 minutes down the beach to the Mexican flag to get a massage for a quarter of the price! Platinum upgrade is not worth it here, only gets you marginally closer to beach and restaurants, and very few other perks.

The only hotel for a family vacation!

My experience has been DIRE, as we arrived and were allocated a room near the mangroves and had a smell of moisture, silt, rotten etc, it was impossible to be there and sleep, we commented and said it was the conduits Q were going to clean it and they did not, we asked for room change and we got a Q Olia equal or worse we complain and after about 20 verbal complaints and a written that we did not want to seal or check in, only made a photocopy we put a dehumidifier that was expantoso the noise q, we returned to claim and we were sent at 12h at night in the same building to the third without elevator and smoking area that olia equal or worse than the previous one, we asked to speak with the superior and it was impossible, at 2h in the morning we moved to another, and so we get q Q Our agency get in touch and we solve it by changing the Yucatan Platinium Q at least the room does not smell bad, smells of humidity but is bearable, although we lost in the other had a whirlpool tub and in this is Small and normal, but today that is the last day, we have not made the room, we do not know why since 8.

I am in love ❤ this is an amazing place… clean, beautiful with good vibes and a great staff. The food is very good and the alcohol runs like water :). The only thing I can say but its nit-picking that is we realy wanted more night life, there is a beautiful nightclub but they don't really promote it. All in all I highly recommend this resort! Especially the area near the sea… Dreaming on my next visit!

I Went on my honeymoon, well I didn't have anything special like the other hotels do, I Was disappointed, the room very well but the bathrobe did not change it if it is dirty, for dinner you have several restaurants to which you have to wait too much to be able to dine having Free tables, animators and exceptional workers, except the girl at the reception, who say that you do not solve any problem you have, the perfect food and great, the cool pools.

Lovely resort! Liked the size… some neighbouring resorts were huge in comparison… this one is a nice size and easy to mavigate. As busy or as relaxing as you want to make it. Very friendly and attentive staff and fantastic service. Alacarte or Buffet the food in general is wonderful, was never disappointed with any meal regardless of the time of day. Loved the 'adult only' atmosphere. Clean and comfortable rooms. Really appreciated the architectural elegance and simplicity of design. Beach was smaller than some we saw but liked the private feel and pockets of quietness, more natural surroundings. Will definitely return!

Very Nice place, my favorite restaurant was the Italian food, the buffet was needed cochinita pibil and the beach is full of huge stones which hurt the feet.

We love this place! Friendly staff, excellent service, safe environment. Professional service from the concierge, bag handlers, food service, bar service, and even entertainment. There is a group of amazing dancers who put on different entertainment each night. In addition, live bands, and other events that you could fill the day with if you are not relaxing at your swim out hotel suite or the beach (both of which have people who will go get drinks for you). Photo services by friendly, skilled, and passionate photographers. Bring your water shoes and a floaty (or buy at the store on site). Splurge on the swim out too!

I really like the personal touch of this resort Suite, Check is was quick and easy! We were Chauffeured to our beautiful exclusive checkin resort, The Bellhop took our Luggage to our Suite. I came with my wife and 2 year old son. We were treated like kings and a Queen. The rooms are very nice, Jacuzzi in side and one on my balcony. The cleaning services of the rooms is excellent, great atmosphere, great pool, very nice staff. They have shows nightly in the lobby. As for the food, I had some of the best food I've had at resorts. There are several restaurants to chose from. Everyone at the concierge desk were extremely helpful and polite. We ran out of pampers a 5 day into our 9 day vacation and the Concierge went into town and got us a new box! I think you will be very satisfied if you chose this resort.

The rooms are modern but the work is shotty. Everything seems to be done cheap and fast. The rooms have paper walls. You can hear everything in the hallways. Our 1st night was disrupted by hotel employees cleaning out a room at 3am and making a ton of noise. The front desk denied it was their own people when we told them about it the next morning and refused to compensate for a night lost. It's marketed as a 5 star resort but it's closer to a 4, or 3.5 at best.

Food is excellent. Beach is very rocky and has a strong unpleasant odour in certain areas. The rooms look kind of abused and have a funky moldy odor.

We had a swim out suite fairly close to the main pool/swim bar. The room was beautiful, spacious and clean! The entire resort is immaculate as well, we always see staff cleaning wherever we go. The food is so delicious! Javier in the Platinum buffet restaurant was wonderful! He greeted us everyday and really took care of us! The bartenders were great as well, especially Jose at the main pool. All the staff were so friendly and courteous. The beach was beautiful. It's a little rocky, but perfect for snorkelling. We walked up a ways to the other beach, and it wasn't as rocky. Lots of wildlife to see in and out of the water. All in all, we had a wonderful stay. 100% coming back to this resort!

Completely different experience on the weekends. We loved the grounds, enjoyed our poolside room, and overall the accommodations were great. We visited in the off season and the food and liquor during the week were significantly different than the weekend. Friday came and it was like a whole new resort with great food and drink. We went next door to the screaming-kid resort which was kind of nice because they have a much bigger festival night, but it's not worth going for dinner because there are better restaurants at the PYP without any screaming kids.

Hola! There's a reason this resort is 5*. A great location in Riviera Maya, Mexico is where this paradise is located. From the moment you arrive (about 45m from the airport) you are warmly greeted and given a delicious drink to enjoy as you are checked in to your room. Options include 3 levels of luxury including swim out variants for some and honeymoon suites. (swim out suites have patios directly in front of a long pool that runs around the building providing direct access. ) Once you've made yourself at home there's a variety of things to see and do. On site there are several restaurants which are included in your price and feature a variety of styles on offer. There's also a 24/7 bistro style restaurant where you can order snacks anytime and a paid fully featured menu evaulable at one other restaurant on the resort. A variety of pools are available around the resort, and some have bars that you can swim up to, have a seat and order your favorite drink. There's also a main bar that's by the main pool and it is open all the time. If you're into shopping there's a few stores available right here, including some brand name jewelry, sunglasses and tome pieces. There's a clothing store and a store that has many souvenirs. Besides this there are other shopping options on Playa Del Carmen which is only 30m away. The service here is exceptional. Everyone is professional and pleasant.

I really liked how chic this resort was. The decor was nice, rooms were ice cold thank goodness, lots of fun things to do, adults only, fast and friendly folks, and at a fair price. Lets not forget the beach! I really liked the beach here, sometimes in Cancun you don't have the nice sand that you want from a Caribbean beach, but this one was great! Seaweed has been a bit of an issue this last few years, but they did a great job maintaining the beach and making the experience enjoyable.

My wife and I traveled to The Platinum Yucatan Princess in mid March. On first arrival to the hotel you may be optically impressed with its clean and modern exterior. Don’t be fooled. The Hotel has an extreme problem with pool tiles injuring guests. The pools tiles were poorly installed and the tiles are falling off or breaking in half throughout the resort pools. These ceramic one inch tiles when broken are basically pieces of SHARP GLASS. I myself received a six stitch gash to my big toe while playing volley ball in the main pool approximately 24 hrs after arrival to the resort. This resulted in our cutting our vacation extremely short. Look closely at other reviews and you will see that this is a common occurrence. Rather than fix the tiles properly at considerable cost, the hotel has a staffer picking the loose and broken tiles out of the pool in the early morning. The bar and wait staff are exceptional, after being patched up with a band aid poolside by resort medical staff I continued to bleed profusely, The wait staff were instrumental on me receiving proper medial care by insisting I see a REAL Dr who insisted I be sent to the hospital for stitches. (A special thanks to fellow Canadian guests who were on site and helped during the situation. ) I felt the management staff was genuinely concerned for well being but their hands are tied by corporate policy. The compensation offered by the Hotel for our ruined trip was minimal.

June 2017, I've stayed at several all-inclusive resorts in the past, but this resort by far had the least desirable food. There was not much variety and the food was not seasoned well. Making dinner reservations at the featured restaurants was ridiculous as reservations could not be made days in advance. The final straw was the first night when the front desk realized they had not obtained payment from us for our room upgrade. The resort literally disabled our key access forcing us to go to the front desk for assistance. That was when we realized there was an outstanding bill and before they would give us access to our room, we had to pay the outstanding $120. Really? We were appauld to say the least. A better way of handling the situation would have been a simple call to our room or here's one… try leaving a note at our door. Who would squabble over $120 after paying hundreds of dollars for a 4 night stay? Again… ridiculous. Needless to say, we will never choose this resort again nor would we recommend it.

We a stayed at the Grand Riviera Princess… Connected to this hotel. Large grand hotel. Great staff and nice rooms. Beautiful beach. So many pools. You need to know that they require reservations for the non buffet restaurants. However if it is only 2 of you remember this secret… you can just show up at the restaurant at anytime and ask the manager to please get you a table and they'll do it with zero resistance. Do not take the holiday club tour… definitely not a value but the people are great.

Overall service @ 70%, new and beautiful resort with a fair size with easy access to the beach and restaurants. The food, drinks and entertainment are fantastic! Unfortunately the *first date we arrived the porter expectations for tips were to high, after taking the bags to our room we paid for each bag approx $2.50 X 2… he looked at the bill and turned back and front expecting more money… that was a turn off to start. *We requested at the time of booking a King size bed for my husband and I but they put us an a double bed room anyway, no apologies or quick action for their mistake, we had to wait a day for them to correct this issue. *The resort is beautiful but unfortunately NO BEACH side, hard to walk in the water due to the rocks and too many bushes and trees for an small beach. *Normally no reservations are needed to eat A la Carte but I did put my name down for a reservation of 6 guests due to a birthday celebration, they confirmed everything for me, but 1 hour before the reservation they call me to cancel it because someone more important was going to have my table and reservation time, I really felt insulted and discriminated by they stupidity in telling that over the phone. I will not come back!

A massive resort. I cant over state how big this place is. There were times we were down by the beach or one of the main pools and realized that we had left stuff in our room and decided the walk was just to far. The food buffets are adequate nothing special but the ale cart restaurants were good, but most were nothing to write home about. The Staff is very friendly and helpful. I recommend upgrading to platinum I know it seems like a lot, but trust me they really under sell the benefits on their website.

Place is great, very clean and luxurious. Rooms are very spacious with amazing view and showers. Tons of activities throughout the days to keep you busy. Employees all friendly.

In this hotel they robbed the camera in a room, you do not have security cameras and are not responsible, CAREFUL WITH YOUR PERTENCIAS.

I have two grievances. 1. Reservation only dining! And you can't call for reservations either. You have to walk all the way down to the lobby and wait in a line to talk to a person at a desk that makes your reservations on a slow computer that often loses connection and frustrates everyone waiting in line. Get with the times! At least allow people ON VACATION to call in reservations! With no reservations you're forced to the buffet, which is fine but pretty standard. 2. Front desk staff was pretty mean. I experienced this on each occasion and never had the same person twice. Like it was a culture with that branch of the staff. Good pool though. You really didn't have to fight for chairs like at most other resorts which was nice. Beach was crowded but same thing. Pretty easy to get a chair without having to get up a 6am. Also liked the 24hr sports bar. Since room service isn't included it was nice to be able to go to the sports bar anytime. Anyway, overall, I would recommend 3-4 days max. But I won't be going back, based on the reservation system that they currently employ.

The lifeguards are well-prepared.

Not much to say. We were just there for drinks. But clean environment, fancy. Staff are helpful and friendly, their english is great!

The hotel and staff were fantastic. I would have given it 5 stars if it wasn't for all of the beach and pool chairs being reserved by guests all day. I can see leaving your towel for 30 minutes but placing a towel on a chair and never using it is ridiculous. It is quite frustrating walking around looking for an unreserved chair in a sea of pool chairs unoccupied, and when you finally find two side by side looking around to see that nearly none of those chairs are occupied during the four hours you are by the pool. The resort could easily enforce a rule of 30 minutes unoccupied and staff collect the beach towel.

We had a great time with no issues! We booked 3 rooms for us and our older kids. The staff was great! My 7 yr old cut his toe on a tile in the pool and they made a big deal of him. They even asked us to call the next day so they could check it. We did and very quickly they came up to our room and redressed his toe. They had put some cotton pads for the bleeding, then they cut a finger off a rubber glove to put over it. He was able to go swimming and jet skiing afterward. The food was good and I really got hooked on the eggs with salsa on top. I can't wait for our next visit!

Phone didn't work in our room, room service menu is extremely limited, Transportation between resorts was terrible and the drinks art the bar are small and watered down. I won't come back!

It is a beautiful five-star hotel. Huge! Has two hotels in mirror which makes it difficult to get acclimated quickly. Cons: the beach is filled with sand, full of rocks in the water, not nice getting into the sea. Floors slippery throughout the hotel, I think it was a design error very large for a hotel of beach and in a tropical climate where rains are abundant. On the other hand we lack organization and training to staff. The section of entertainment and we saw. A shame… my expectations were more than met. I recommend to choose another hotel… in another area because I walked the beach from neighboring hotels and they were worse the problems of algae and rocks in the sea.

Bar drinks are of very low quality despite a great choice of high-end liqueurs. But bartenders have a talent in ruining almost any drink we ordered! Food was ok, average. No room has a ocean view if this option is of any impotence to you. Very quit, almost no entertainment despite all efforts of the hotel staff. And no noise either. Very nice grounds and spacious clean rooms. Great service, friendly staff, check in and out takes a few minutes only. Would give 4.5 stars if there was an option like that here.

Phenomenal attention to detail. Extremely friendly and helpful staff that go above and beyond the call of duty. I honestly feel bad having this many people pampering my needs. The wow factor of the scenery leaves you breathless. I've been to Mexico a multitude if times and experienced a different resort each time but I would most definitely will come back to experience heaven again.

The room itself was very nice, however, two things were a disappointment — the food and the entertainment. The food was some of the worst we've had. Especially the buffet. It 'looked' good but was not. Plus — they advertise that the buffet is open 24 hours and that is not the case. The main restaurants open at 6pm and until then you are stuck with the buffet and it's really bad. The Italian restaurant was the best they had to offer. There was very little entertainment. The first night was a Michael Jackson Rememberance show that was basically just people dancing to Michael Jackson music. The skill and costumes were so so. They did have a Fire Show one night that was really good but other than that there wasn't much entertainment. Not sure I'd go back to this one — with so many to choose from in the area.

Facilities very clean and neat. Good care in general. Near playa del carmen in the car.

The pools are nice. The water is safe to drink. The food is hit-or-miss, but more miss than hit. The shows are stereotypical, just singing and dancing. If you add more humorous entertainment, you'll be a really amazing resort.

It's a great hotel. It's huge. Lots of good service. The beach is not as nice as imagined tho. Pro tip: bring indoor slippers.

Excellent hotel, I had the opportunity to stay in this hotel and it was totally amazing, excellent environment for the children parks, swimming pools, and excellent beach club, the restaurants are excellent without a doubt put a lot of effort into the food, and the staff is totally aware of everything, they make you feel at home!

The resort was beautiful. The platinum pool was great for me and my family. It was made especially special due to the people who worked there. In particular the efforts of Alfredo should be noted as he was excellent. He was always willing, happy and pleasant to be around and made our trip more enjoyable. His absence on his off day was very noticeable. He was great.

The place is really modern and its very clean. The staff is really friendly. Rooms are really big with large balconies. Theres also rooms with swimouts to the pool. The resort is next to a larger Princess resort and guests are allowed to use the facilities there as well. There are lots of restaurants to pick from and the food is amazing. The beach is quiet and theres a large main pool inside the resort. Would defintely recommend this place!

DO NOT GAMBLE WITH YOUR VACATION Poorly run and will ruin your honeymoon. We got food poisoning our first night and it stayed with us so avoid eating here. I woke up 2-3 times every night with "problems" despite taking pepto bismol. Unlimited alcohol seems great but when you're too sick to keep down regular food, it becomes a bit less appealing. Our room was infested with bugs and even after they moved us and sprayed for bugs, it was still infested. Any food we brought back from outside, even put in the fridge got covered with ants. The shower never lit up though the pictures showed colored leds. The jacuzzi leaked. Any attempt at honeymoon romance was destroyed between vomiting and bugs everywhere. The hotel stores there were super overpriced — everything from sunscreen to souvenirs cost 2x to 5x normal so it was cheaper to pay for a taxi (about $13 USD each way). For example, sunscreen was $22 USD! In town it was about $8 USD. The best things this place offers include alcohol and the beach — everywhere else has them too. Overall, I feel like this place was hastily built without any consideration of local insects, customer service, culinary skills, or anything else except exploiting tourists for their money. Yes, there are good reviews here and on other sites that contradict mine. I also read them and decided to ignore the negative people. We went here to save a few hundred bucks off going to a better resort thinking whats the worst that can happen.

We recently stayed at this hotel. Let me first say it is huge, you need to take cart to access various parts, personally I didn't like it. We stayed at Premium which is the highest but didn't receive that level service. We were dropped off at the main reception upon arrival and were waiting in line, nobody even referred us to Premium reception. Well Premium reception was another story the lady at the desk was having a good personal chit chat with probably another guests, didn't bother about people waiting. She spent good 10-15 minutes with them and went like a rapid train with us. We requested if she could get the room early since we were up since 2 AM and had kids with us without any second thought she just said no to us. Then we asked her again she said in 40 minutes, so I asked her after the time she gave she didn't even remember. I totally freaked out. Finally after long nagging we get the room and we requested to talk to the manager, he apologized for her behavior and offered us some free service. For food they don't have many choices. I basically lived on pasta and fruit. Most of the time we had very poor service at restaurants, many time we picked our dirty plates and put them away. Especially the male servers would hardly come and ask or serve rather talk to each other. One day the server was eating in front of us but didn't even bother putting napkins or serving water, so disgusting. You need cart every time for dinner, it's near main reception.

Tip your staff please. Take advantage of the restaurants for food and use room service for snacks as the menu items are glorified gas station food. They don't skim on drinks and for the best drinks visit the main bar. Good value.

A beautiful place. Have a good and nice beach, good option since q the pool is often dirty, due to the fact that for good or for evil, the bars are integrated into the pool. Sites eating many close early on the 21 hours and here it comes also people that late dinner so I think that could improve that aspect. Although the choice of restaurants subject to reservation and the buffet are very nice, offering all sorts of meals. For the rest of the rooms and the services provided by the hotel excellent. Have a taxi service with prices already set, ideal for if you want to escape to some place from there. Also buses with schedules that they pick you up at the reception. Very nice all the little animals portray (coiatis, iguanas, etc. ) that you find on the grounds. But without doubt the best treatment of ALL workers in the hotel, very friendly and simpaticos. I'll be back for another year without hesitation.

It is a wonderful place. The attention in the restaurants is amazing. Very elegant and fine. The food here, as in all the rest of the world is heavy. It is recommended to tourists that they are careful not to eat too much, and food is very heavy. The rooms of the premium are spacious, with comfortable beds and nice view from the balcony. Very beautiful place.

Very nice place. I was on Honeymoon here, and my choice was great. The World food in 5 restaurants, which are in price of hotel and one luxury place by extra money. Hotel is quiet, romantic, simply ideal for relax. Hotel's beach is awesome, you can find there many activities in your free time.

Great place… Very new and modern hotel and very beautiful. The pool is great (we stuck to the quiet pool). The beach is small and a bit rocky in the water. Food was typical resort all-inclusive style so nothing to write home about, but was well made and always available.

Staff are great, scenery is great, food is great. Doesn't look that great on the way in but looks very nice inside. I would recommend this hotel.

Great relaxing place for a vacation. The restaurant have great food and service. Plenty of amenities included. Only issue I have is our room has a weak Wi-Fi signal so beyond checking email is impossible but the signal strength is great the closers you are to the lobby.

In the Bar with Gabriela and Gabriel. Finally with the support and supervision of Mr. Armando in the beautiful Beach and excellent Caribbean Sea. A big hug from Monterrey, Sandy and Carlos Corral Mtz.

Definitely not a 5 star resort. The food is pretty gross all around. Even at the reservation only Skylight restaurant, you are paying about 200% more than what would be fair for food of that caliber. Things seem over cooked, under cooked and not seasoned. We frequently bought chips at the gift shop to avoid having to pick a restaurant to suffer through. This is not the place for people who enjoy good food. Maybe if you are loaded with free liquor, the food might be passable. Our room was okay, but I'm pretty sure my reservation said a jacuzzi tub and there wasn't one. The A/C must have been moldy as hell because it would make the entire room smell like mold. We just killed it and left the door open to get a breeze. It got hot but that is better than mold. Room service was spotty and the food was just a small selection of the stuff at their buffet… Not worth it. We booked a couple's massage and that was probably a highlight. Good and relaxing but they hadn't done laundry so we didn't receive any towels or robes which left us a little exposed and annoyed. We also had to ask 3 times before someone went and found us towels. Also the steam room smelled of mold. I would recommend a health inspector check that out. The sauna was okay. The best part of the entire stay was beach access. We found 2 secluded chairs under the cover of some seagrape trees and spent a couple days there. I also thoroughly enjoyed the free drinks from the beach bar. They were pretty good.

We stayed here for two weeks in September and on the whole it was really nice! Our rooms were comfortable, the room service was attentive and the restaurants were actually pretty decent for buffet food. If you are not into partying I would definitely recommend getting a room closer to the beach rather than the back pools as they have a massive foam party there that lasts all day which for some is great but if you want to relax, you'd be better suited towards the beach side of the hotel. My only complaint and I know it's terrible but the fact you can't get Wi-Fi on the beach is a tiny bit annoying but really, you should use it as a time to switch off.

Excellent hotel, service, cleanliness, the food, delicious and for all tastes, pissinas, bars, and services of the platinun, are excellent, my wife and I highly recommend.

Terrible service. Door broke 3 times. Couldn't get into the room and had to go to lobby. Toilet broke called in twice and no fix. No room service in the upgraded room. No Wi-Fi. Rude staff. One waiter told me to relax when I asked what he said since his English was bad.

We purchased the upgraded honeymoon suite with Jacuzzi. The Jacuzzi was the main reason we bought this room at the extra price. So the first time we tried the Jacuzzi, the drain plug would not hold water. Going back and forth with multiple phone calls to front desk and asking for it to get fixed, It never got fixed. They kept sending a service man to try and all he can do is “fix” it but then it wouldn’t drain water. Back and Forth we went and they kept trying and after almost a full week of maintenance in and out of the room they still did not manage to fix the Jacuzzi tub. We were not able to use our Jacuzzi tub all week! So we payed the additional 1400.00 I believe for something we couldn’t use. This was horrible. I would like to stress on the poor quality of the food throughout the week, On Tuesday February 16 we managed to finally speak with the acting manager “Ricardo”. We had a sit down meeting with him, myself and 2 other guests from my group. Each one of us had tried to express our concerns and how this week had been disappointing including the front desk service, the food, and management fail to follow up with any of our concerns. Ricardo was rude, unapologetic and even at one point attempted to blame us “the guests” for not complaining of eating the raw seafood immediately and that the illness was probably caused by something else!

Rocks, rocks and rocks. If you will come to enjoy a ocean and swim in the ocean you not going to be happy. All beach in rocks and not able to get in the ocean. You will hurt your feet. All my pedicure was gone on second day on our vacation. 10 days we were looking a way to go to ocean and finally went to the Princess resort. Food was good but no any nuts and dry fruits. Gym was excellent. Room amazing and clean. The pool is full of the chlorine. Not going anymore for this resort.

The hotel is amazing : very clean, peaceful and relaxing. The room was huge : two double beds, a very nice and large shower and a bath. You also have access to the beach, directly from the hotel if you want to enjoy the sun. The restaurants are really good. My favorite was the Rodeo Grill, where you can eat delicious steaks. Bruschetta, the italian restaurant, and Thao, the asiatic restaurant, are also two awesome dining experiences. There is also a buffet, where you can find different kind of foods.   The Platinum Yucatan Princess also has 8 different bars. The bar's employees are truly dedicated and always want to help you to make sure you have the time of your life at the hotel. There are a lot of different drinks you can try, my favorite was the Correcaminos, which is a mix of coconut cream, vodka and amaretto.   Finally, this hotel has a SPA, if you want to relax. You can experience massages, sauna and a water circuit.   Yucatan Princess is definitely a 5 stars hotel experience in Riviera Maya, one I can recommend to anyone and one you won't regret.

I went for my honeymoon. My husband and I loved it. I hope we can go back for our 5th Anniversary. We were on the adults only side. It was great. Not busy. More then enough pool room. Food was great. Restaurant selection was great. Staff was supper friendly. Hotel was always being cleaned and upkept. Only downfall was the seaweed on the beach/shore.
