TERRIBLE SERVICE, allowing uneducated people to let them into the pool with food and drinks which they throw inside it, they have no rules to enter the pool, they report to reception at the time of what happened and they do nothing about it.

There is no privacy in the bathroom of the rooms since it only separates a glass which lets you see everything from the space where the bed is, the rooms in poor condition.
I don't recommend it.

Terrible service of the restaurant the penguins, they demand tip to the taste of the manager according to them, they take a long time to serve, the plateaus with their face of arrogant that do not give well the service and the only thing they say … if you want to eat here if you don't leave… wtf!? In my life there was me. Something like that.

The rooms are quite dilapidated, dirty, it is perceived that you do not give them the minimal maintenance: curtains torn and dirty from mold; towels broken; walls stained steps, connections, and plugs in a very bad state; the smell of the sheets is horrible (and doesn't excuse the fact that you are on the Island, because the hotel D Gomar in addition to clean, smell delicious) ; the fan and air-conditioning equipment are rusty; the bathroom with mold; in the bathroom there were 2 cockroaches. I do NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE this hotel, not even for its location is worth it. Additional staff has zero service attitude, or the greeting you give, much less attend to your requests or needs. If your option is to go to Isla Mujeres in a couple or as a family, truly this hotel is not option. The photos posted on the Facebook differ greatly from the reality.

I am here now. Very dirty, everything is falling apart. Website says complementary chairs and towels and when we arrived they said that it’s discounted chairs and you need a deposit on towels.
No bottled water in the room, no ice buckets.
This place needs a major remodel! Will not be returning.

Very bad experience you get charged a room that says safe and once you see that closing the operation you get out saying that it is separate payment if people rude and lying the room in the morning does not have water a robotic sthere there are nicer hotels that this luckily I stay a night just forget they live off the tourist.

Decent, clean, basic. Staff was rude, arrogant, and snobby. Balcony door did not lock. They are stingy with the towels. Good for 1 night maybe, but not for a whole week. Over all the island is awesome and the people that live there are too. Food is OKAY, not great. And the restaurants and people selling want an arm and a leg for what they are selling.

It was ok. Room 131 in the newest building (#4) was the best room. We moved from the first one bc it was disgusting and the fridge was caked in mold, nothing like the pictures from the room that we booked. Then we paid an extra $50 to be upgraded to building 4 and we were on the third floor. Great room, but I was ready to check out by day 2 because the bed was so unbelievably hard I couldn't hardly move after sleeping on it. I'm a side sleeper and my shoulder was so sore I couldn't even carry my purse… they leave the doors open to the empty rooms, so I checked three other rooms until I found room 131 in building number 4. Everything was great then. I paid $351 total for a Monday check in and Saturday check out (5 nights) plus the extra $50 cash to the front desk for the upgrade. So about $80/night. I booked on Hotels dot com (can't mention websites in reviews) which was frustrating because the front desk didn't understand that we booked the middle (more expensive) option, and still put us in an old room; we could've booked the lesser price online, then paid the front desk the $50 upgrade fee and ended up in the same place. The pictures on the room selection and pricing are deceiving, as the pictures from the midrange option are the rooms in building I would recommend the property specifically if they would let you book that specific room (building room 131), which was a King bed and was not nearly as hard as the other beds.

The room was good but the service, is deficient, I stole a towel, do not provide soap or shampoo well I had to go to ask them and I only got 1, the location is excellent, if your service was better, you could overlook the lack of paint to the installation is, the pool that yes is excellent as the location, the water is warm and allow you to use it until 21 hours, and its lighting is very nice.

Simple (standard rooms) but very good cleaning service. Breakfast is served late, starting at 8:30

This is fun. North beach isla mujures. Don't be afraid to visit mexico! I'll climb over that wall if it ever gets built! Locals here are crazy friendly. I love this.

Excellent location in the best beaches of the island. Spacious room but the cleanliness is not 100 points. The breakfast is very good.

I’ve been a guest here for the past 4 years. It is in a wonderful location with a beautiful view, great pool area. Very comfortable rooms. My only complaint, since you can’t drink the water or use it for brushing your teeth or with contacts… the hotel needs to have bottled water available on each floor, not just in the lobby.

Save yourself the trouble and DO NOT stay there if you don't want to ruin your vacation. The rooms are utter garbage and they do not give you the room you reserved. There are no beach towels, the shower has no hot water and the walls are extremely thin. You can hear what the people next room are doing. Customer service was the worst of all. When you talk to the front desk staff, it's like you're annoying them. The staff doesn't seem to want to be there. Very bad attitude.

Terrible room, mold growing everywhere, no privacy in shower or bathroom, no shelf for soap, shampoo, anything in the shower area, no hot water… luke warm at best, and no blow-dryer (just be fore-warned). Staff very unfriendly, greeted me with a look that said “what the hell do you want? ” They made me produce my passport number on their registration form. They wouldn’t look at my driver’s license and the credit card that made and paid for the reservation, they wanted the printed out confirmation and my passport number. The so-called “safe” in the wall looked like if had been opened with a screw-driver. The mini fridge was rusty and looked like it had never been cleaned. The TV remote did not work. Did I say the walls were dirty and moldy? Yuck. We paid $100 a night, and this is a room that wasn’t worth $40. The ONLY plus is its proximity to the north island. I will never go back and will never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Comfortable, clean and pleasant. Only in the price. There are other similar more economic.

The room had everything we needed. Good location, air conditioning worked, had a nice mini fridge that worked. The hotel needs some maintenance/updating to continue to be acceptable. There was a bad sewage smell on and off, pretty typical of the places we've been in the Caribbean (small island, limited septic). Really good price for what you get and the location.

This place has the perfect location. The rooms are okay the staff is very friendly and helpful. Nothing really special about the rooms but we find Them to be very standard across the island. This is the perfect place to come due to the location and the price the price was amazing.

Nice place for the price. Rooms are decent and clean. Very nice location (close to Norte beach). Their swimming pool is dirty. But hey, who needs a pool when you're so close to the beach. Definitely recommend.

The room in which I stayed had fan, thermal curtains, screen of 32 "approx, a pretty spacious bathroom and air conditioning frigobar (tiny refrigerator) Quite useful for my baby's medicines, Bath caps and sewing kit those details I They got out of trouble on the trip. The pool has pool ideal for babies, has a view of the sea and the days that do not Cloran can swim at night. The cleanliness of the rooms can improve but overall it is very comfortable staying there the beach is right in front of the hotel. The Restaurant has excellent view and the food is good.

The room was very good. The curtains are full of mold. One Day No water comes out of the keys repair these more than 1 hour and another there is no hot water. No response from this for Q there are no maintenance staff and they send you to bathe in another room and the worst treatment of the reception a disgusting rude and arrogant… And the worst a maid Q was not the Q to the cleanliness of my room took my room an inflatable my daughters and to return Q spent 2 days and the very bad vibe returns with 4 pickets (damaged).
The only Thing Q was super the cleanliness of the room by the part of Ms. Leticia.
The rest a horror does not return even Q I won in raffle…

My friend was staying here. Hung out in the room and out by the pool a bit. Place is great if you're on a budget and you really can't beat the location, directly across the street from the beach.

The only reason I grant this place two stars instead of one is that the staff had been nice and accommodating within reason. This is a hotel with a great location that could itself be a great place to stay if they tried a little harder. The rooms are an enigma. I once stayed in a standard room here a few years ago and was unimpressed. This year I stayed I bought up and was expecting a much better room. What I got was possibly worse, mainly because of the bathroom's lack of privacy. It does have a does that shuts and locks, but there is literally a hole cut in the wall between the bathroom and the rest of the room that I guess someone thought would be artfully modern but it has done nothing but make my entire family uncomfortable when using the toilet. You'd think this weird setup might help prevent mold, but you can see the black mold stains all over the walls. Also, you do not want to stay here if you need an elevator. I booked a room for two adults and a baby and got a room on the second floor, so everyday I have to lug a stroller up and down a flight of stairs. This is really only a place you want to stay if you don't care about cheaping out on your hotel stay and don't plan on spending much time in your room because the quality you get for your money really shows.

I am here now, if you have any knowledge BD of lung issues, bronchitis, allergies, ecspecially mold, thus is not for you. The first room I found black mold by the AC unit, bedroom wall that backs up to the shower, and the bathroom. Second room was slightly better, so I didn't take it. Checked third room and moved there, after I took a bottle of bleach to clean the bathroom. And I also cleaned the AC filter, that helped a lot, I was considering swapping hotels as I felt like I was going to die in room 1, not sure if I would get my money back, so I found s room I could work with after I cleaned it properly I would not recommend this to any of my friends!

The hotel itself is OK but the price is very high for a hotel that doesn't even have Wi-Fi in the rooms… decent room and good pool. Not bad.

Did not have towels for several days, sheets were stained and had hair on them, pee on the shower curtain, looked like safe had been ripped out of the closet, the only real door opened to a pile of furniture blocking it (had to use sliding glass door that didn't meet in the middle with flimsy lock to leave and enter), a/c constantly turned off on its own. Waited two hours after stated check in time for a room, told no ocean view available but numerous guests walked in and got them without reservations. Would not refill water bottle in entry even with new bottle sitting beside it. Most unhelpful staff I have ever had the displeasure to meet.

This was our third visit to Posada del Mar. The price can be good, but the rates were very inflated, maybe due to the holiday season or they have just been increasing over time. This trip was by far the most we have ever paid to stay here. The front desk staff is not very friendly nor helpful. A previous visit, we booked a room for 2 (their price goes up per person after that) and when we had a guest join us, they charged us extra at the desk, even though we had booked online… fast forward to this trip. We paid for 4 people and had one person cancel, so when we told the desk, they said they cannot refund because they have no clue what we paid the booking company and they only get a set rate. Once we spoke to management, which was not going to give us our money back, IT IS IMPORTANT to only book for 2 people and then pay the extra once there, they even said that is the easiest way. Our room, paid for 4 people, only came with 2 towels and when we asked for more the front desk originally said no… We finally were granted an extra towel and given a floor towel after we had to ask a second time. The Wi-Fi is almost completely non-existent and only works in the office, when it is working — if you are paying around $100 a night for this place, you can find way better accommodations with people who appreciate your business elsewhere. The location is nice, but everything is so close in the North Beach area that picking a different spot will not make a difference.

So basically the waiter was the biggest ass we have ever seen in our hole life. He wanted to punch me in the face for taking cover under an umbrella of theirs at the beach (which I would have gladly paid for to be under) with a little girl. Not only did he leave us in a tropical rainstorm with all our stuff but he also wanted to punch me in the face for yelling back at him "are you really being serious. " After confronting him in the restaurant he ran off like a 5 year old boy saying that he would not discuss his missbehavior with us (in front of his boss! ) It was a joke.
There is no way on earth this place deserves this high ratings. Do yourself a favor and do not go to this place…

The place is very nice. Wifi is very slow and not that reliable. Nice place to stay with a pool and ocean just steps away.

The entry is at 3pm. It's 3:30pm and they say that in 1 hour delivered to the rooms. Very annoying.

If you are willing to go bare bones on a hotel this is the place. Air conditioning only in room, tiled room and bathroom. Fridge, but extra per day for microwave. Very close to beach and close enough to the inside of the island to walk to areas for all three meals. Overall, not bad, not good, just eh.

That un-service!? Old building don't really measure up to todays standard — even if they had changed all broken and worn out and dirty interiors.

I saw the guy literally ignoring the phone, it's horrible to see this kind of hospitality in my country, if there is someone that's looking for a room please don't book here, at least not if your're arriving at noon for the prize you could afford some other place with better mexican hospitality quality, also ask for the extra things you may need before like towals and shampoo. The rooms have only two towals but you can have one per person on the room.
Vi al tipo literalmente ignorar el telefono, es horrible ver esa calidad de hospitalidad en mi país, si hay alguien que planee usar una habitacion porfavor reconsidere el lugar, al menos si llegaran despues de la tarde, por el mismo precio podrian encontrar algo mejor con mejor hospitalidad y trato, tambien asegurense de pedir las cosas extra que podrian necesitar como toallas o shampoo solo dan dos toallas por cuarto pero es una por persona.

Cute hotel. Missing breakfast included, but it is one of the cheapest. It is cheaper to buy online by search engines than in the hotel, $1700 $1250 in Bestday against for example. Very strict with check-in, being that it is very late (3 pm) and 12 pm check out. You get beach towels if you ask them. Conveniently located 3 blocks from the beach.

From check-in to check-out this place was nothing but a disappointment. The one and only front desk person was one of the most apethetic I've ever encountered in the hospitality industry. Honestly, in my humble opinion, he did everything possible to be inhospitable. Arrived to the room only to find it was a double instead of the king booked. Couldn't move us yet the 5 king rooms beside us remained empty with the door open throughout the day. The linens looked like something I would've thrown away 10 years ago. The shower … well, that was a bit of a joke … get ready to triple your bathing time due to the water pressure. I only increased the property to a 2 star rating because the housekeeper we had was a delight and extremely friendly. They should consider making the housekeeper the front desk manager and do away with the current one. Do yourself and traveling companion a favor — pay a bit more and stay somewhere else, we will next time!

We love it here! Our second visit and ready to book a third. We stayed in the newer building and it was clean, quite at night and the A/C and fridge worked great. The price is right, and you can walk anywhere downtown. They are right across the street from the beach, with beach chairs and tables available. And, try the breakfast at the little restaurant on premises. You won't regret it.

Great place for friends or couples in a fair price, just across the beach. 200m' from sea shore. Loved it :).
