Zomay Beachfront Holbox

The dining experience at Hotel Zomay’s restaurant was excellent. We come here just to eat every time we visit. We have had their burgers, Baja fish tacos, and the Caesar is spectacular 100/10. Yolanda truly deserves special recognition for her delicious food. From the first bite, it was clear this is no ordinary food but one prepared with care, balance, and real attention to detail.

We had both good and bad experiences at this hotel. Our room had problems with the AC, and there was a bad smell from the toilet. Because of this, we could not sleep, and we were not happy with the room.
However, the customer service was very good. The hotel was full, but at midnight, the receptionist, Daniel, was very kind and gave us his own room so we could sleep. We really appreciate what he did.
At the end, the hotel refunded our booking. The room was disappointing, but the staff support was excellent, especially from Daniel.

Lovely Hotel directly on the beach with a little lagoon and a beachbar. The food is also good and you can choose international like Sushi but also local food like Tacos and Ceviche. I recommend to try the whole menu while you stay here. The beachbar is the best spot to watch the sunset. But especially Coco made our experience here to one of the best! Very good service, always lovely and super friendly! Thank you Coco and the whole staff for everything ✨❤️ We will be back!

If you’re looking for a casual boutique hotel to stay look no further than Zomay in Isla Holbox, MX. The atmosphere is chill vibes with an excellent helpful staff. Food and beverages are great! Location is perfect — “the sunset place” to stay and for us being in the +60 age group there was no need for transportation rental as is so walkable and close to town. Loved it! We intend to go back to Zomay again if we can so that’s the best review I can give. If you go, tell Ricardo that Barbara and Terry say hello!

We really loved Hotel Zomay while staying in Holbox in november. The staff was really nice, especially Ricardo who helped us out whenever we needed it. The hotel offers really nice sunbeds and you can use their paddle boards for free! Their breakfast was really great every morning.

I have been at Zomay Holbox last April, and I’m only just taking the time to share my experience.
But it’s definitely worth it! This hotel is a true gem right on the beach, which makes every moment incredibly relaxing. The outdoor areas are beautifully set up, so you can spend your day just chilling and enjoying the surroundings.
The vibe here is amazing. The drinks and food are excellent, and the staff is incredibly welcoming. I highly recommend this place!

It is in a great location, near to the central part of town. It backs on to the beach and the team were very welcoming and helpful. They have the best view of sunsets and normally have a fire and music going too. Ricardo on the front desk was extremely helpful on our first night, offering us advice on best places to go out and places to eat. All the staff were extremely welcoming and very attentive. All of the staff had a good level of English. Would highly recommend and will definitely visit again.

This is a no-frills hotel, with excellent service and great location.
If you’re looking for a cozy, charming room, this hotel is not it.
We spent the day on the beach, and went out at night exploring the various dining options. So it worked for us.

Highly Overpriced, Bad Service, big construction Work Just next To it. Would Not recommend to book!
The Hotel is located beach Front and Close to The Center of holbox. Room was clean. That is The only good Thing of it.
IT IS defintely Not worth The price. WE payed more than USD 250 per night!
For this price Here is what you get:
— staff does Not understand any english (besides Manager) and IS Not capable of clarifying anything without The manager.
— Staff at The reception is more focused on watching their Mobile Phone than borhering to even say 'hello' when guests pass by.
— when I arrived with three Young Kids The Guy at The reception watched me Handling our luggage and The Baby But did Not bother to Help me.
— lunchbox or any other Option is Not available If you Go on a boat Trip on The Island which usually Start Early in The Morning.
— breakfast is very poor. Small portions and you only have one choice. They offer Not even cereals or yoghurt.
— they have a Coffee Shop aside but for breakfast they Serve watery Coffee (i thought IT might be Tea First) for their guests who pay more than USD200 per night.
— waitress at breakfast Does Not understand any english and Mixed Up our breakfast Order every single day. WE were a Family of five and she have to us four forks and spoons e. G. There were only few guests, I Wonder how she handles more people.
— The curtains in The Room are Not big enough to Cover The whole window so that you can See through at night.

Hotel Zomay is a perfect choice in Holbox. Its beach bar is the best spot for sunsets, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The beach has plenty of loungers, with or without umbrellas, and it’s just a 5-minute walk to the town center and pier. Rooms are clean, spacious, air-conditioned, and well-serviced. The restaurant offers tasty dishes in generous portions. Ideal for couples, friends, or families, everyone here seems completely relaxed. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else!

This Could be a nice hotel BUT the maintenance issues overshadow their hotel. We had to move 3 times because either the AC system was not working, plumbing issues, just something. Staff was very nice but it didn't help. We finally were moved to a working room (AC would not go below 74 degrees) but it only had one double bed, I paid for 2 beds. When I asked for a partial refund, I got a big Fat No! There was a fire right next to this resort, and since then, the property has had electrical issues among other things like lots of construction going on. Owners just do not seem to want to fix it. Another thing is that the staff does not clean the beach. No attempt to take right in front of their own beach chairs, so it was very stinky with the old seaweed, sargassum just sitting there day after day in the hot sun. The other resorts right next door were very good about cleaning. The pictures online definitely do not match the real look of the resort. You can get something much nicer for what you would spend here. I wish I could write a better review but I would be lying if I did.

Zomay is an amazing option while staying in Holbox. The location was walkable to town and just far enough away to be out of the hustle and bustle — we loved not having to call a taxi or bike if we didn't want to. The staff is friendly and accomodating and went out of their way to make our experience the best it could be — special shoutout to Ricardo for going above and beyond! The bar at sunset is a must. The rooms and beach club (chairs, loungers, umbrellas) could use a refresh and some TLC but nothing that serious that detracted from our stay. We will be back!

Pros:
Shower was excellent. Room design is exactly what we were looking for. Great balcony from the second floor of our room. Beautiful grounds. Mattress was very comfortable. Water service and refill was convenient. Close to town.
Cons:
AC blew right on heads in bed. We could not use it. We had a leak in our room from the heavy rain. Breakfast is so so. Beach not in the best location on the island.

I stayed for a few nights with my parents and we loved it. The location is great! It's walking distance to town but far enough to not hear the music from the bars all night. The beach is beautiful with many seats and lounges and the hotel bar is amazing for sunset, even has live music some nights. The employees were so friendly. The whole place has such a chilled vibe with hammocks everywhere. We even liked it better than some more expensive resorts down the road. Would definitely book again.

We spent a day at the beach with Coco. We weren’t staying here, but the service was incredible. The food was good. We had tacos, snacks, great drinks, best day, most relaxing vibe, and Coco was amazing.

Zomay: A Peaceful Retreat in Holbox.
During my recent trip to Holbox, I had the pleasure of staying at the charming Zomay that left a lasting impression despite a few minor shortcomings. Here’s my detailed review:
The Pros.
This hotel is a haven of tranquility. Nestled in serene surroundings, it’s the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The lush greenery and calm atmosphere truly make you feel at one with nature.
One of the standout features of my stay was the exceptional staff. The team goes above and beyond to ensure every guest feels welcomed and cared for. A special shoutout to Ricardo, Dani, and Dani, whose professionalism, friendliness, and attentiveness made the experience truly unforgettable. Their warmth and dedication elevate this hotel to a new level.
The included breakfast was another highlight. Every morning, I looked forward to delicious, freshly prepared meals that started my day off on the right foot.
The Cons.
While the overall atmosphere was lovely, the furniture and interior design could use an update. Some elements of the decor felt outdated, and a refresh would undoubtedly enhance the hotel’s appeal. That said, the rustic charm still had its own unique allure, which didn’t detract too much from the experience.
Final Thoughts.
If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with excellent service, this hotel is a fantastic choice.

We had an absolute perfect time here, I proposed to my girlfriend here and Zomay and staff made it an absolute dream! Everything was arranged so well. We had a private dinner during sunset on a very romantic terrace. I would definitely recommend coming here.
The breakfast and food are really good. And the location is also very good. Within a few minutes you are in the city center.
The staff makes you feel so relaxed, especially Andrea, Ona and Ricardo made our stay amazing! Could not ask for a better service.
