I stayed at this hotel in September 2017 with my husband. Our experience was really bad. We booked this hotel, despite being one of the most expensive in the area, driven by the positive comments and the services offered. We immediately realized that the quality was not what we expected. The room was never thoroughly cleaned, the breakfast was really poor, every day the same things were served, very little space to the dessert, no croissants only old biscuits, biscuit slices, nutella subbrand that ended immediately and you had to make the ran to get some. There is also an underground parking lot, not easy, to reach it you go very deep until you arrive in a smelly environment full of insects that we had to take advantage of having rented a scooter. As if that were not enough the last 2 days of vacation there was bad weather, it rained very hard and my husband and I thought to access the spa that was included in the exasperated price that we had faced, I assume that on our arrival at the hotel on the first day there is s delivered a card to be displayed if we wanted to take advantage of the wellness area. Arriving at the floor we find in front of a closed door and a sheet explaining that the wellness area was not available for that period due to problems of not being well known what nature. Quite insensitive we immediately went to talk to a receptionist who tried to justify the incident without showing particular concern for our discomfort.

The Tunnel The first thing to know is that this hotel is split in two buildings we're you only can access the secondary by an indoors tunnel from an underground floor. This becomes quite a trip going back and forth to the pools, restaurants or just getting out. Even though the tunnel looks clean it has a very strong odor of cleaning chemicals mixed with feces (clearly they're trying to ’hide’ the feces smell with the chemicals). Parking The ‘free parking’ was full when we arrived and we was advised to find a parking on the streets (which wasn't easy). Also, we later noticed that their garage was limited to cars with a max length of 2 meters. Elevators The elevators were slow, small and crappy and had a really stupid floor buttons structure. Naturally you always had to wait in line before stepping in too a cramped elevator. There were a few more minor flaws but part from this the rest is pretty nice. The rooftop pool and restaurant area is their strongest feature.

Dedicated staff, nicely decorated hotel, we had a pleasant experience. We had specified a double bed, and although there was a twin waiting for us, a quick call to the reception and an efficient housekeeping department changed it whilst we explored the hotel facilities. Thank you for the nice surprise, the slice of cake and kind message. The indoor pool is small and pleasant-looking but the air was extremely chlorinated, making it difficult to stay longer than a few minutes in the room. The pool on the top floor, and the adjacent restaurant are very pretty and we're eager to go back. Thank you Anna at the reception for finding a solution to our voucher situation.

Nice strategic location in the island. A Stone's throw from the best beaches and embarks for Gozo Comino. Very clean Rooms. Friendly Staff also in Italian. Rich Breakfast buffet. Possibility to dine in your own restaurant with a favorable price for the hotel customers who only have a B&B treatment. Good Pizzeria on the ground floor. Great terrace with rooftop pool attached to snack bar and fusion restaurant. To come back for sure.

The room is poorly insulated, you can hear the baby from the next room crying.

Very good hotel but very noisy rooms on the street. Book room on the other side or a suite that even on the street is not noisy. Otherwise very nice staff, the terrace for breakfast is superb. The roof with pool and bar and Sun Bath offers a great view. A report also on the household deserves just a little extra effort but it is not a black dot.

Lovely staff, clean rooms. I was surprised to see there was no conditioner, only a two in one body wash and shampoo provided. The breakfast is amazing. Location is OK as there are buses during the day to the important locations. Great area for restaurants.

In a nutshell: Perfect! We had a dream stay in this hotel… The staff greet you warmly and with a smile, is attentive and above all advises you. The room was just great, a small terrace overlooks an inner courtyard, the bathroom is large with a bathtub for 2;) And the bed is very comfortable. Only downside no French TV channel but after all we were not there to watch TV.
In the evening the hotel's restaurant offers a choice of buffet, or you will be spoilt for 14, 5 euros.
We took a formula breakfast has 15 euros per person certainly but especially hesitate to include it because the international sweet and savoury buffet is simply Royal and you will get for your money!
The weather did not allow us to enjoy the beautiful swimming pool on the roof but there is a 2nd covered and heated with a small jacuzzi.
Price of one night for 2 + 2 breakfast = 90 euros (booking made on booking) in short I would recommend this hotel without hesitation and will come back with great pleasure.

Great for the price point. Our room didn't have air con or cooling so I asked reception for a fan. Within minutes one was provided. The staff were all friendly. The cooked breakfast was lacking. No mushrooms, really fatty bacon and terrible sausages. Although the granola was nice. I really liked the infused water too. I would definitely return although it would be nice to have the option to pay a little extra for a better cooked breakfast. Also mushrooms would have been nice.

The hotel is well located and offers a wonderful view. The rooms have an upscale standard and the food was delicious and varied.

Good value for money, deserves 4 stars.
The heated pool is the best thing about the hotel when it is too cold outside for outdoor pools.
With better finishes at the room level, could probably get the 5 stars.

Infamous garage not suitable for cardiac or claustrofobicos, as well as dwarf and insufficient. If you get in because it indicates Q there are free places you risk q is all busy as happened to us, q thing served us not to try again.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Room also correct.
The spa is little more Q a mini indoor pool, four massage rooms and a sauna.
The breakfast was very justito.

I used the spa facilities at the Maritim with my fiancé. Although the staff provided exceptional service and the treatments themselves were excellent, the facilities were extremely poor. The indoor pool had so much chlorine in it that it stung your eyes before even getting in the water and we couldn't stay in it for long as it started to feel suffocating. The jacuzzi was colder than the pool and had an extremely pathetic amount of bubbles without any way to increase the jet pressure. The steam room and plunge bucket were out of commission, although it had been suggested that we went to use it by staff. On the other hand, the changing rooms were good as was the sauna. Based on the staff, who were informative and courteous, I would have given the spa a five star rating. Based on the facilities, it would be a one star.

Great hotel with a small parking area of around 15 parking spaces. Can only be accessed with a small car. Large cars run the risk of hitting the walls when spiralling down 4 levels. Breakfast superb. Rooms have great views.

We were here for almost a week. Our stay was pleasant and relaxing. Hotel has many restaurants and cafe/bar and amenities like indoor/outdoor pool, sauna, gym etc. Breakfast buffet spread was good even for vegetarians like us. And good thing is a bus stop is right next to the hotel. And many other basic shops and restaurants are there in the area.

Unfortunately only the simplest average. We have just visited the hotel for 5 days. At first glance, the rooms are well equipped. Unfortunately, there is a lack of attention to detail. So it is cleaned quite superficially, the glasses from the previous day were left standing etc. The lack of attention to detail is also reflected in the handling of the guests. A small example: we got the info from the reception that we have to leave very early 2days before, could order a corresponding breakfast only the next day. Complaints were taken with a shrug but not processed. The only bright view: Maik, whom we have noticed as a concierge, has made our stay in Malta much easier with his tips. Thanks for that.

We are a family of four and have spent two wonderful days here. Staff is professional, efficient and helpful. Room is fitted with a large bathroom. Hotel amenities are very popular. Food is deliciously cooked to perfection. Even my small children love it. Well done!

Good value for money Hotel (travelled in March 2018). Breakfast and varied breakfast, dinner should be revisited a little ' the variety but also this abundant.
Room (junior suite) discreet and cleaning passable during the stay, hairdryer on the wall a little too slow, if you have so many hair armed with Pazenza. Very poor parking, only small (really small) cars, get ready for a "spiral parking" for other cars in van you have to cross your fingers and park in the street (free in white Stripes) Saturday afternoon and Sunday free also in The time of the disk is mandatory. Overall good hotel.

Wonderful hotel, cosy and modern lobby, spacious rooms with nice bathroom. Heated swimming pool overlooking the garden. Very full breakfast. It is a very highly recommended place.

The ambiance is fantastic. 3 pools, one on the rooftop with great views of the church and the surrounding area. Also the room is large with balcony to the church. However, I was disappointed by the staff. The understanding in English was sometimes difficult and on questions about the bus system or ferry timetable they were not very helpful. Therefore 1 star deduction.

Everything was fine. The hotel was very beautiful and the staff was very friendly. The room was clean and the view was fantastic. Finally, enjoyed the facilities (pool, jacuzzi).

The main reason for the 5 stars is that the staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel delivers what it promises. There is a lot to choose from at breakfast and dinner, although I've seen better at other 4 star hotels. Nonetheless I think it is unfair to complain about the food. The gym is the best I've seen so far in a hotel, but by no means comparable with a fitness studio. However, most people cannot blame the gym for not being able to do their workouts. There are three pools, one outside one on the roof and one inside (heated). There is a whirlpool, a sauna and a steam bath. The latter was out of order. It seems undersigned, but except for the whirlpool I never had to wait or felt that it is crowded. Various massages are offered at about 1.1€/minute (of course you don't book per minute but per session). The location is good with a bus stop just outside the hotel. You have direct bus lines towards most destinations. The most notable exception is Mdina.

A little quiet. Relaxing. Heated indoor pool. Good location to Gozo. Nice trips to Valletta.

What more could you ask for?
By cons attention some eco rooms overlooks the reception, no opening outside.

Was only in the spa there. Not as a hotel guest. The spa is not luxurious. A Finnish sauna. A steam sauna that was broken. A swimming pool to which one has to walk, where one has to climb a staircase higher. The room with the swimming pool is not very inviting. A bar with drinks or snacks is completely absent throughout the spa.
Gym available. I didn't use it.
Cost: €15 time unlimited use. Towel and bathrobe for €5 extra charge.

Our room was relatively large and had a balcony with lateral view of the sea (407). The breakfast buffet was very plentiful and the service team very nice and attentive.
The room was clean and comfortable. Especially in the bathroom you can see that the staff there work very half-hearted. Otherwise, everything was okay. Gladly again.

Not exactly what we expected. Further away from the beach than it looked on the map (yeah, the crow flies in the straight line whereas the actual road to the beach is not exactly straight). However, close to the town center and as such, a good selection of restaurants and shops is nearby. You can also visit catacombs (nothing extraordinary, but still worth checking as it's 200m away only), local cemetery, cathedral… all in the immediate neighborhood. The local bus station is right next to the entrance.

Room good and clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel food is such a thing: depending on the form of the kitchen crew from "Do not go" to "whole O. K. " A positive exception must be mentioned: the Lamb — really good.

Nice hotel, nice view from the terrace, nice pools and the spa (free for hotel guests). Great dinner and buffet breakfast. Little privacy in the room because the bathroom has the door without locker type saloon!

This hotel is just awesome. Staff is very friendly and all is nicely decorated and clean. They have three swimmingpools but these are all very small, it might have been better to have 1 large pool. Breakfast in the restaurant could not be better. One thing that's really strange: the bathrooms are very large so why put such a tiny / narrow bathtub in there? It's impossible to sit comfortable in it, even if you're not very fat. ;-)

It was a lovely stay. The hotel offers everything the heart desires. Nice clean rooms, great breakfast buffet, very good restaurants, 3Pools, sauna, spa offers and a great bar. The staff is friendly and helpful.
All in all a round thing I would like to recommend further.

Very friendly and helpful staff, the hotel is very well appointed with good sized air conditioned rooms and new fixtures. Breakfast is very good, and there is a great variety of well cooked food available from the evening buffet, making it a competitive choice for an evening meal. The pizzeria attached is ok quality-wise but very good value, so would be a suitable choice for family meals. The hotel has 3 swimming pools: a heated indoor, one outdoor and one with cocktail bar & restaurant on the roof terrace, which is good for a romantic cocktail and dip before dinner. There is a nice beach very close and there is easy access to a lot of historic sites to visit via the excellent bus service.

Good hotel to go for a holiday of 10! The week I spent at the hotel, the stay was very good. Also it is in an area that by bus you can reach the Valetta in an hour. Meals and dinners are not very varied from day to day but there is a variety of meals during the service. All right to enjoy your stay at this hotel!

Room Do not look under the bathroom faucets… proper size outdoor pool. The other two are far too small and overcrowded… Outside very noisy. (Circulation). Outlets in English or incompatible with our devices. And to finish the 2 small bottles of plastic mineral water of a value.

Very good establishment. Room a bit dated in economy class but with a view of the beautiful sea. Very good food, friendly dining room with view on a beautiful garden and pools. A dedicated and discreet staff. A very pleasant stay.

We can not understand how a 4-star hotel room gives without daylight. The room 430 is located directly above the reception and is therefore very noisy and has no daylight.

Very well kept and very clean establishment. Listening staff. The three pools are nice. The restaurant is very satisfying. The only complaint for my part is that there is no fresh fruit either at breakfast or at dinner.

Well, we have to stop. The 4 stars with rooms very small, no water bottle, no fridge, no bathrobe with deplorable bedding. Even if the price at the last minute is "economical" it's worthless. To have made 7 hotels in 7 days history to travel a little this one is part of those to avoid. If you have €20 more to put especially do not hesitate and go see elsewhere! I have the impression that the stars "Maltese" are the same as in Tunisia given a little on the fly. Ps: Yes modern gym for the year 1995.

This is not a 4 star hotel, PERIOD. Regardless of what a hotel may add to achieve it's 4 star status in the end a hotel should provides one thing: a bed to sleep. The mattress in this supposed 4 star hotel is so bad, I had hostel beds in dorm rooms with better mattresses. I brought this up with the service personal and was told it would be taking care of, of course it wasn't. So as I lay my body down to a night of no sleep and back pain in the morning, I advise u don't book this, unless for u a chic kids-free rooftop pool can make up for a good night of sleep.

Had an amazing day here in one of the suit rooms with hot tub. View was cool and had huge terrace. Bed was comfy and staff was smiling and helpful. Breakfast in the morning was good with variety of options.

One of the top hotels here in Malta. Staff really nice and helpful, clean hotel and we found a lovely gift in our room for our anniversary. Thank you Maritim hotel for making our stay a truly memorable experience. Keep it up.

Room 145 in the basement is just below the street, to the left of the balcony is a very loud exhaust duct, looking into the unkempt garden. Not reasonable for the price. Staff not exactly friendly, little info about City, schedule etc eat rather average, meat and fish dry and firm, more designed for British holidaymakers. We're not coming back.
The hotel is centrally located and has a very good bus connection.

Beautiful, close to a beautiful beach, amidst a valley, clean and spacious. Food is really good here. Small outside pool which lacks a proper view. Also in need for adequate parking.

Can only comment on the food and service as we only had a meal here. Both were excellent. The hotel itself looks very modern and is very clean. It's in a good location just a few mins from the main bus stop.

This is a place where to visit is a must. To reach this beautiful cave there are some steps but it's quite worth it. It is so peaceful and quiet with the beautiful simple statue of Madonna.

Very nice Hotel, large rooms, clean. Super Breakfast. The view from the 9th floor where there is the pool and the Thai restaurant dominates the whole gulf and is worth the price of the stay.

Great hotel with 3 pools! The rooms are modern and comfortable. Breakfast and restaurant are very good. Lots of shops and other restaurants around. Free shuttle to the beach! But if you have a car, don't try the hotel's parking!

Wonderful Hotel. Friendly and welcoming staff. Ideal for both family and childless people. I would happily recommend it because we had a great time and the facility with its pools and beautiful.

Very nice Hotel, in the is stay including the spa. Professional and courteous staff. Only flaw about the rooms which are very nice but unfortunately the bathroom does not have the window and does not even have a ventilation system.

The best hotel I have been the food is lovely. The roof top pool is stunning with fantastic views. The staff will bend over backwards for you and bus transport is just outside the door to take you anywhere in Malta. The atmosphere in the hotel is lovely no drunks running around just couples and family's having a great time. So to sum it up a fantastic hotel i'm going to book it for next year before I fo home.

Just average really. Very clean and well maintained. Nice gardens and swimming pools (though rather small). Helpful staff. Very average food though, damp and smelly underground corridor, mold is occasionally a problem too. Located on the main street in Mellieha, next to a bus stop and close to all amenities. This can be handy but is also a source of noise. On the whole, a fairly solid, good value hotel, though nothing special.

The hotel is very large and has a health spa as well as three pools (one indoor, a garden and a rooftop). The staff were very friendly throughout the duration of our stay making himself available for any need.
Reading other comments I noticed that the bad reviews come almost all from those who have stayed in "infamous" hangs over the tunnel: talking with guests who at that time were there seemed to discuss two different hotels.
Very international and decidedly more than ample, varied nightly buffets though obviously the kitchen is much influenced by British culture of the island.
Downside the lack of daily cleaning of the room: we intentionally left something in the ground each morning before heading out (two or three small pieces of paper or a ticket) and every evening to return we found everything as it was.
Overall it is a structure that I would recommend, but if you book be sure of staying in the main block of the hotel.
Tip: the quietest rooms are those on the garden side. Air conditioning very quiet.

Cocktail bar: inexpensive for a great service and peaceful atmosphere. Leisure: We only went to the spa and gym, which is €15 for the day for non hotel guests or €10 after 4/5pm. The finish and decor of the spa, level 0 pool and steam sauna rooms is lovely but the layout is convoluted with the pool a floor up from from changing and steam and sauna rooms. Many of the lockers in the changing rooms were broken. The gym was quiet with ample equipment for cardio workouts and weight lifting. The indoor pool is not big enough to swim for fitness. We didn't visit either of the outdoor pools.

Was 2012 & 2013 already twice in this hotel and were top happy can I recommend.

As good second time around. This was our second time to this hotel in Mellieha with its wonderful location overlooking Mellieha bay. The service is good, well fitted rooms and prices competitive. If you are a sports fanatic like myself then their sports bar is convenient to catch up on the latest action. Their are 3 pools, one on the roof for the ardent sun lovers, one in the gardens below and a very nice indoor spa and pool. Its situation is very convenient for eating out with numerous restaurants and bars within the town. Its a brisk walk down hill to the beach but well worth the effort. Overall a good location, very nice hotel and plenty to do.

Highly recommended as a starting point for a sightseeing tour to Malta. It has it all. Spa, wellness, pools, city etc. Would book there again.

The hotel is due to recommend, had through the tunnel to the elevator, which stunk but terribly. At 2Aufzügen, one was broken, thus it sometimes resulted in longer waiting periods. Had a room in 4. Stock without balcony with wonderful views of a courtyard with approx. 10 m x 10 m, the room was day and night only dark, with luck, you sometimes saw the sky.

Good hotel, but there were many problems with the air conditioning in my accommodation. We had to repair air-conditioning after three notices to ourselves. By the other good place to stay with family.
