Absolutely wonderful place! The hotel is in a fantastic location and is truly unique. From the moment you walk in, it feels like stepping into an art museum – every corner is original and beautifully designed. It’s a very special place.
Tony and his team are incredibly helpful and welcoming. If you need any recommendations or help planning what to see, Tony is amazing. He took the time to show us places on the map and explain what is worth visiting. His knowledge of Malta’s history is fantastic, and it was a real pleasure listening to him talk about the island.
Our room was very comfortable and spacious, with everything perfectly arranged. The price was also very reasonable for such a unique and high-quality place.
The rooftop terrace is another highlight. It has an incredible view of the Three Cities, and you can enjoy coffee or drinks there. There are also games available, making it a lovely place to relax. I saw that there is a barbecue area as well, which must be wonderful in spring and summer.
We visited in the middle of January and the weather was still lovely – a perfect escape from the UK. Mostly sunny with just a little rain, and we managed to explore a lot in just two days. Taxis in Malta are very affordable, so it’s easy to get around and visit the amazing restaurants nearby.
This is one of the most romantic places I’ve stayed, and we will definitely come back. I’m already looking forward to seeing Tony again!

I love everything about this unique and beautiful hotel. The owner/manager Tony is passionate about Malta (and art, and history) and happy to share all of his knowledge to help you fully enjoy and get the most out of your visit. He is also warm and hospitable and made us feel like we were visiting a friend rather than staying in a hotel. The hotel itself is full of art and music and inspiring poetry, and is very comfortable with everything you need and more. Breakfast, coordinated by Shanaiah, who is equally warm and helpful, was plentiful and varied and a great start to each of our 4 days here. I hope to come back, and would recommend Boco Boutique to anyone!

My wife Beatrix and I spent four nights in mid-January at the BOCO Boutique Hotel, a little gem in Bormla nestled amidst picturesque alleys, staircases, and surprising viewpoints. Our apartment on the second floor had a small rooftop terrace with a breathtaking view over the rooftops to the harbor. Getting to the airport is easy; both the bus connections and taxi rides are straightforward. Tony, the owner, was already expecting us and made us feel more than just guests throughout our stay. His restaurant recommendations and sightseeing tips were absolutely spot on. We felt incredibly comfortable and lovingly cared for by the entire team. In the stairwell, we discovered the saying: "You arrive as a guest and leave as a friend. " We wholeheartedly agree!

A lovely small boutique hotel situated in the old area across the bay from Valetta called the Three Cities.
Our rooms were each individually designed with amazing eclectic decor. They were clean, and spacious with an equally clean and spacious en suite bathroom. There is a great roof terrace where you can sip a beer/glass of wine or take breakfast while absorbing a gorgeous view across the bay to Valetta. The hotel proprietor Tony is a warm and welcoming host who could not do enough to make our stay a pleasant one and gave us many tips on what to see and where to go.
I would love to return one day and would definitely recommend this hotel to any future visitors. You will not be disappointed!

We absolutely loved our 2 week stay at Boco. We were in room 545 which has amazing views to the harbour from the large terrace. There is also a roof top terrace which includes a great honesty bar. Breakfast is served on the lower level where the lovely Shanaia pours coffee and cooks eggs — as well as many other items to choose from. The hotel is full of interesting art works. Tony is the best host — so informative and helpful, even arranged impromptu drinks one evening on the roof terrace for the guests that were staying — a lovely chance to chat with people from different walks of life. The area around Conspicua and Birgu (about 7 mins walk) is so interesting — lots of quaint streets and numerous restaurants and bars within a 10/15 min walk — our favourites were ‘Del Borgo’ (atmospheric wine bar/ restaurant and ‘Enchante’ (Tony’s recommendation) — again Tony is great at recommendations for things to do and see as well as nightlife. This is the third time my partner and I have been to.
Malta and we far prefer staying in Three Cities — it is less manic than Valletta and far more authentic but easy to get wherever you want to go. I would not hesitate Boco — a really great little gem.

I was genuinely surprised by how calm, quiet, and beautifully “Instagrammable” Boco Boutique Hotel is. It’s tucked away from the heavy tourist crowds, surrounded by peaceful neighborhoods, yet still incredibly convenient for exploring Malta.
At first glance, the location looks far from Valletta, but it’s actually the perfect home base. You can reach Valletta in about 15 minutes by the regular ferry (every 30 minutes, around €2.50 with the Upper Barrakka lift included), hop on a traditional water taxi for €3, or simply take a bus or Bolt. The same spot also connects directly to the Gozo ferry, which makes day trips super easy.
The area is ideal for walking, running, enjoying sea views, and sipping coffee along the promenade. Tony is an exceptional host — one of the few owners I’ve met who remembers your name and makes you feel genuinely welcome. And the view from the 3rd-floor honesty bar is absolutely worth mentioning.
Overall, an easy 10/10. Highly recommend!

Fabulous host and team during my short stay here. Rooms are very comfortable and Tony has done a great job restoring this lovely town house. Great views from the roof terrace with well stocked honesty bar. Good and varied breakfast. Cospicua is a great location for exploring all of Malta or just around the cities and Valletta with plenty of lovely restaurants to keep you well fed. I would recommend.

BOCO Boutique Hotel is, in our opinion, a charming B&B type hotel (We loved it! ) It is conveniently located in the old scenic section of town overlooking the bay, close to a landmark church, the ferry landing, and restaurants. The rooms are small but spotless. The "penthouse commons" area has a well-stocked honor bar and a spectacular view. Tony, the owner, is welcoming, personable, and does all he can to assist in making your stay perfect. Breakfast is Mediterranean in style, and delicious. Recommended!

What a pretty cosy place, with a wonderful view to Grand Harbor from the terrace!
Tony and his team are amazing, fun and full of knowledge of the history of Malta. We dearly enjoyed staying here. The room was creatively designed and everything was clean (Wi-Fi, Hairdryer, Soap plus fridge in the room available). I mostly liked the rooftop with also a self-service and "trusted" bar. Very good idea to have that.
All in all our stay was an enrichment in friendship and knowledge. We come back!

What a cosy place to stay with a fantastic view to Grand Harbor from the terrace. We loved the host and his whole team. They were fun and full of knowledge of histroy of Malta. Rooms were creativly designed (Wi-Fi, haridryer, soap and fridge in the room). I loved the rooftop with a self-serviced "trusted" bar. We come back!

A fabulous place to stay hosted by Tony and his lovely team. We had the pleasure of 2 nights at Boco, only wishing it were longer.
Very easy to check in and come and go as you please, the rooms are wonderful, beds comfortable and a great shower. Make sure you take your breakfast up onto the terrace and also have a late night drink there overlooking the city. There can’t be a better place to stay in Valletta or the 3 cities. We’ll be back for sure. Debbie.

This stay was nothing short of magnificent! Boco Boutique is nestled in a quiet, but picturesque street and only a short 5min walk to the ferry. The rooftop view was extraordinary! You have to stay here for the views alone — but what really made it a 5 star experience was the owner Tony, he was a delight to be around and even took the time to map out our own walking tour around the city! Couldn’t of had a better stay.

THE BOCO Boutique hotel is a unique, some might say quirky, 3 star small hotel brimming with character and charm, reflecting the ethos of Tony, the owner and his team.
Each air conditioned bedroom, although on the small side, is clean, traditionally Maltese yet unique in design and breakfast which is a continental style, is set in the basement area down a staircase although trays can be taken to the penthouse.
There is a small lift to the second floor. Plenty of clean towels and change of bed linen and guests are invited to consider environmental issues such as conserving water, recycling etc.
It is located in the Three Cities, only a few minutes walk away by an attractive ferry ride to Valletta or by regular bus services. The sightseeing southern hop on hop off bus service stop is on the quayside too.
It is in a quiet residential area, a one way narrow steepish road, perfect for those who love to wander through the older than Valletta, Three Cities, visiting museums, churches, cafes and places of historical interest.
Tony will help you with a walking route too and point you in the direction of super harbour side Mediterranean restaurants, or local Maltese foods and wine bars … and that's without even taking yourself to Valletta or further afield. He will book for you too and the team will arrange airport transfers which take about 20 minutes. Luggage can be held in the hotel on your day of departure.

A lovely selection of breakfast treats every morning, and we particularly loved starting our day on the rooftop penthouse lounge, sipping coffee and taking in the magnificent views of the Three Cities and Grand Harbour.
​The location is perfect for exploring Malta. It's just a short walk to the ferry across to Valletta, offers wonderful walks from the doorstep to experience the Three Cities, and you're spoilt for choice for local restaurants. Tony's passion for Malta is infectious, and his recommendations for local experiences, history, culture, walks, and dining were invaluable.

Fabulous boutique hotel, 6 individually decorated bedrooms. Beautiful old features have been retained throughout the building whilst making sure you have modern features too.
15 mins from airport and about 10 mins walk downhill to the Valletta ferry. 5 mins walk uphill to the nearest bus stop. Easy access to multiple areas and great restaurants catering to a wide variety of tastes.
Friendly knowledgeable staff who are passionate about sharing their beautiful hotel with everyone. Take the time to ask about where you should go to visit in this beautiful place, you won’t be disappointed.
Plenty of choice for breakfast from ham, boiled or fabulous scrambled eggs, croissants, toast, fresh fruit, yogurt and cereals. Bottle of water in the room with full access to the honesty bar at all times.
Roof top bar with inside and outside seating, honesty bar with beers, wines, hot drinks and ice creams. Air conditioned area with sink for dishes. Lift from entrance hallway to all floors with bedrooms and the rooftop bar. Views over the city towards the harbour. There is a hot tub but it was closed during our visit.
Rooms are all individually decorated and were spotless. Air conditioner in the room with small fridge to keep drinks etc cold. Can’t wait to return 😊

BOCO was a fantastic place to stay while in the Three Cities/Valetta area. We stayed only for two nights but wish we had stayed longer. It is situated in a quiet area of the Three Cities and you can easily walk to points of interest in that area or to the Cospicua-Valetta ferry. The owner, Tony, and his team were very friendly and eager to help with anything from accommodations to recommendations for restaurants and sights to see both in the immediate area and elsewhere in Malta or Gozo. Overall, it almost felt more like staying at a friend's house rather than a hotel in the best way possible.
The hotel itself is beautifully decorated and offers a great breakfast as well as the "Honesty Bar" which was an unexpected but incredibly convenient addition. We used it to grab some waters before heading out sightseeing as well as to share a bottle of wine on the top floor at night. Breakfast in the morning was a very nice addition as well. It was also stocked with anything from frozen treats to energy drinks and beers, pretty much anything you might need drink-wise.
The room was cozy, well appointed, and had a good view of Valetta's harbor. It even included plug adapters (which was extremely useful since we brought the wrong kind). Each room is also uniquely decorated, so no two are exactly alike, another fun quirk of the hotel.
We would 100% stay here again if we come back and would highly recommend BOCO to anyone else visiting.

An absolute gem. Situated a short walk from the fast ferry to Valletta this gorgeous little hotel is perfect for exploring Malta. Tony and the team are the most amazing hosts, you truly feel that you leave as friends. They bend over backwards to make your stay as memorable as possible. The breakfast is fantastic value! The area is very quiet and beautiful. Narrow streets, pretty architecture. So much to see just walking out from the hotel. It is hilly but that’s Malta. The bus stops near by and the taxi service bolt is reliable and reasonable. There are plenty of restaurants within a 5 10 minute walk. However the real beauty of this hotel is the magnificent view from the pent house terrace. There is an honesty bar which is fully stocked with different drinks to suit all budgets. You could quite happily spend hours watching the world go by from there. In conclusion Malta is a very special place but staying here will take your visit to another level.
