BKC Villa

An absolutely beautiful stop on our way down the Mekong. Sure it's not 5star if you're talking big city, but it's absolutely amazing for here and I'm loving it. Very comfortable, clean and lovely service. Such an experience you are lucky to have.
The food was also amazing at the rooftop restaurant.

Basic rooms, the water kept running out as there was some damage to the pipes so we didn't have water most of the time during our stay. Dinner was ok. Breakfast was good.

FRAUD! They double-charged us! We showed them the online banking balance (clearly shown 2 payments) and they just rejected to give us the money back. Indeed, they deleted the transaction overview on the card machine…
Apart from this, the place is abandoned, not clean at all. We stayed in better place for 5 EUR/ night. 28 EUR is wasted money.

Google is not accurate in directions Luckily somebody met us from the slow boat with a sign and drove us there. They have a buffet breakfast that is superb and very nice hosts. What I found most awesome was the architecture, the rich French colonial carved wood that you Don't see anymore. When I walked 2 minutes to town, the sleepy street market Google said it was 53 minutes back. The.
Wooden carved wood queen bed was luxurious. The elephant sanctuary cross from the river. But I did it see elephants. The balcony just outside my front door was quaint.

I will start by saying that the staff was very kind and the breakfast was great, and I will give them two stars for that. But that’s it.
This was by far the most horrid room I have ever had to stay in. We walked around town after checking in trying to find something else, but didn’t have any luck. The walls were dirty and stained by some unknown liquids. Window screens and light fixtures were broken and hanging on by threads. The front door latch wasn’t installed properly. The bathroom door was mouldy (? ) and the soap dispensers were empty and looked like they had literally never been cleaned. The duvet on the bed was filthy (the sheets were clean and the pillows seemed new), and the bed itself was broken and sloped to one side.
I didn’t want to put my belongings on any surfaces so I hung them all from the provided hooks, only to find them all completely soaking wet the next morning from the air conditioner above (I should have known better, air cons drip).
Other members of our party said their room was fine, so maybe we just got unlucky, but ours was truly disgusting. We spent as little time as possible in it.

We stayed at this hotel while on the Nagi of Mekong boat trip in November 2024. We have done this slow boat trip twice before (highly recommended) and had previously had basic but good accommodation in other hotels in Pak Beng. This time it was even more basic and only barely adequate. The bed, although comfortable in itself, had the worst pillows we had ever felt — a terrible night's sleep guaranteed. The bathroom was barely supplied — a sachet of some unidentifiable fluid was all. The air-con was welcome and breakfast was at least OK — hence the 2 stars. For the price, though, I would have liked a more comfortable sleep and a better shower.

When arriving after the boat trip from LpP, it seemed that the host was surprised about our booking … we got a room in the opposite, former Hotel. First room had to be changed immediately. 2nd one is at least working but hospitality is something different. The whole area (incl. Happy Bar) feels like a construction site and is not clean. Could be managed better.

Pak Beng serves as the halfway point for slow boats going from Thailand to Luang Prabang, so an overnight stay is required due to boating restrictions at night. We were on a tour and our expectations for accommodation were low, and they were met. I don't think I've ever posted a 2 star review on TA before, but there's a first time for everything. One star for the comfortable bed, another for the good water pressure in the shower.
The room was very basic — basically just a bed and one table, and it was noisy — both from the street and a nearby bar. AC and fan were also noisy when in use. Breakfast was OK, and the coffee was above average. Close enough to the "pier" so you can walk, but it's a steep hill.

Great guest house for an overnight in Pak Ben, if you're taking the slow boat. They pick you up and drop you at the boat and included breakfast was pretty good. Room was comfortable and a nice view.

The room was clean. We had one of the most comfortable beds and pillows we have slept in for quite some time. Quite the enjoyable experience.

Building is on the older side, how ever the rooms are very clean and the host are very helpful, picking us up from the Slow Boat pier. Food at the BKC restaurant was very good and reasonably priced. Beer was cold :-) Breakfast was great too.

Nice hotel for our one night stay during out slow boat trip to Laos. The hotel staff were very nice and had everything ready for us, we checked our selves in and made our selves comfortable in our room. The beds were nice and clean, shower was clean and had warm water. We had breakfast included in our stay and we ate at the restaurant onsite which was good. Over all we enjoyed our stay! The host even gave us a ride to the pier and picked us up :)

We ate at the onsite restaurant and the food was delicious and inexpensive. The minced fish was mouthwatering and tender. The minced buffalo was flavorful as well.
The hotel room was compact but had everything we needed for a one night stay.

Good place to stay for the stopover of your mekong cruise.
The staff is genuinely great. Before I left, they gave me a breakfast box for my mom, because she did not have time to take the breakfast there. Very sweet of them. I recommend.

In this guesthouse, you can't really endure more than one night. The room was not properly cleaned, a loud noise buzzed in the walls all night, making it difficult to sleep peacefully. The bed was comfortable. The Breakfast (2$) seems to be good but we didn't try.
Please note that there is no BKC Villa 2 located directly near the pier, as indicated on Agoda or Booking. The actual BKC Villa is only 200 meters away. To reach it, head directly to the left when facing north. While the street exists, it is not shown on Google Maps. Unfortunately, I cannot add the missing street to Google Maps because it is not supported in this area.
Overall, this guesthouse gives the impression that they do not place much importance on service and cleanliness, and it appears to host guests who stay for just one night before embarking on their journey south or north with the slow boat. The Pier is just 5 min walk away. The Host also drives you to the pier and pick you up for free.

Great place to stay for the night between the slow boat trip. They offer nice breakfast and you can bring food for the boat ride. They upgraded our room for free since they were not fully booked that night!

We had a lovely experience at BKC Villa. The rooms were clean and equipped with aircon. Special thanks goes to the owner who was very forthcoming, in good spirits, and professional. He made sure we get to the slow boat on time. The breakfast was absolutely amazing.
