Imperial Hotel Express

The hotel staffs were and are very friendly and most of the time go beyond their normal duties to make sure during our stay, we feel at home. This is evidenced to me even when i was admitted, i was called by the manager to check on me, and was ready to pay me a visit. On returning, i was ushered in with fruits. Much appreciated. And yes, the meals are wonderful with nice staffs sorting our issues if we have any.

Perfect location, room small but clean.
Breakfast options very limited especially protein, only boiled eggs were available. Vegetables and salad options are there and very fresh.
Also beware once you start eating at the table you can't takeaway anything including your pastry.

Conveniently placed at the heart of Kisumu town— very accessible. However, parking is very limited so you’re likely to park on the roadside since it’s along Oginga Odinga Road.
Service staff are very friendly.
Slightly disappointed with the rooms, specifically the shower which is awkwardly placed.

The location and sheer functionality for a business trip makes this a great little hotel. Quite efficient and lean with excellent staff — friendly, polite and charming.

If you want a hotel that feels like a home rather than a hallway of numbered doors, this is it. Located right in the CBD, it’s the ultimate "commute anywhere" hub, but with a soul.
The Highlights:
The Culinary Matchmakers: The staff are basically food gurus. They don’t just serve; they advise. Their recommendation for the lamb and chips with their "special sauce" was a total delicacy—if I posted the photo, curiosity wouldn't just kill the cat, it would haunt it.
The Morning Mood: Breakfast is served early with "morning smiles" that actually make your day. It beats a grumpy buffet line any day of the week.
Classy & Quiet: Because it’s a medium-sized dining setup, dinner feels like private fine dining rather than a crowded cafeteria. Very intimate, very chic.
Squeaky Clean: I’m pretty sure the staff have a "seek and destroy" mission against dust. The place is kept immaculate 24/7.
The Verdict: Soothing music, chill vibes, and staff who actually care. It’s a 10 from me.
Ps. Shot of their refined health drink.

Great Location in the heart of town. Felt very welcome, and the staff were accommodating — Room was on the smaller side, but clean and comfortable, and had on of the best beds and pillows I have slept on. Good value for money!

Good place to stay for business purposes. However, there is a pub or bar behind the hotel that creates significant noise until midnight.

Great central location, reasonably priced meals, and the rooms are great, though they could do with an electric kettle for hot beverages. Service is good.

10/10 plus 10 minutes absolutely nothing. The hotel is central to everything. Everyone was professional and friendly. Elva and the front desk crew, to Nancy in the kitchen, down to the security guards. Check in was easy and breakfast is served hot and ready. Atmosphere is nice and warm, we felt really safe. The rooms are clean, and you get value for your money. Anytime I am in Kisumu, I know where to take a rest! Asante sana imperial Kisumu. Well done!

Passes by Kisumu and stayed here. Enjoyed an incredibly wonderful stay thanks to Elva and Judith. They really looked after us.
Breakfast options were sufficient, and tasty. Hotel is central to town. Very safe and for a night out, alleyways is just round the corner.
The place to stay in kisumu, will come again!

We booked two rooms for one night after our first place was cancelled.
I think the quality is fine, location is great and the staff were friendly and professional.

The hotel is very central. The staff is very friendly we arrived early and the staff was kind enough to give us the room early. The breakfast was very good as different every day.
I will definitely recommend this hotel if anyone is visiting Kisumu.

The hotel is Fantastic. We enjoyed our stay. The service is great and the rooms are excellent. Would recommend it to others.

Overall an amazing place. Apart from the keycard causing issues, my room was pretty clean and organized. Unfortunately there are no views of the city and the room had some funny smell which was later fixed. Judith gave us an excellent customer service staying awake till late to ensure we checked in. Thank you.

Great foods, great rooms for one person, everything is just wow about this Hotel in Kisumu.
The personnel at the hotel right from the gate man to the house keepers were good.
The rooms and rest rooms were also up to task, though there were no fridges in rooms if you come looking for that.
There's a great AC to cool you from the hot Kisumu weather.

Clean, convenient and well located in Kisumu town. Ideal for business travel. Friendly staff who are always willing to help and improve your stay.

Highly recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Kisumu. Its in the heart of Kisumu town. The location is excellent especially if you travel by bus.
The rooms were very clean and the food in the restaurant very tasty.
Enjoyed my stay.
