Unfortunately I was disappointed by this hostel, it was the worst place I stayed in across my entire Japan trip. The only two positives: the staff and location being excellent, with it being nearby many stations/lines so easy to reach many areas across Tokyo. However, there were far too many issues and I would not stay again. Cleanliness was disappointing, the walls, ceiling and floors were covered in dust/dirt, the beds had stains on them, and bunk beds did not feel stable at all. The rooms in general had a funny smell and there were signs of water damage too. The bathrooms/showers were not the most clean either, with signs of mould and taps work on a sensor which was not sensitive enough making it very difficult to wash hands/brush teeth etc. Security was very lacking, appreciate it is Japan so likely safer than my own country, but don't feel it is a good idea to leave the front door unlocked 24/7 especially after reception closes. Every other place I stayed in, including other hostels would lock the main door after a certain time of night. Additionally the door unlocking system for rooms is based on codes, which was very cumbersome to use and unclear how often codes were changed. During cleaning time all the rooms were unlocked so anyone could walk into any room which did not feel safe either.

I stayed here for about 2 weeks. It is incredibly rare to find such strong community nonetheless within a business. I was solo traveling but quickly found a home within this random Tokyo hostel. After my two week stay, I stayed at 4 other hostels during my 2 month trip to Tokyo, and none of them compared to DEN in its level of social atmosphere, coziness, and convenience.
The front desk, the living room area, and the kitchen are close enough that people very naturally start conversations each time they come in and out of the hostel. It never felt like a bother to ask the staff unlike other hostels where the front desk is separate from guest hang out areas. The staff are all well selected as welcoming individuals who have interest in getting to know the many guests from all over the world.
The beds could easily fit me 6'2" (188 cm) and I felt the curtains worked well to keep light from bothering me each morning. DEN also provides ear plugs and face masks at no cost.
If you are looking for a community where you can meet others and take your trip to the next level, this place is for you! Can't express enough how nice it was to stay at this hostel. Even after I moved out to go to other hostels, I was able to come visit for events like Running Club, Smash Bros with friends, and calligraphy class.

Really good price. The facilities are nice compared to the cost. On booking some reviews said the blankets were short and the room was cold. We did not have any issue whatsoever with that and we are both around 6, 2 feet. The service was really good but we did not really need any extensive service so hard to say. Location is perfect.
