Unfortunately, my experience at this hostel wasn’t very positive. I ended up with bed bug bites all over my hand, and when I reported it to reception, the issue was brushed off as if it were my responsibility and dismissed as “just bugs, ” which was disappointing and concerning.
The nightly happy hour was also quite underwhelming. Most evenings it consisted only of the staff and myself, and the atmosphere felt dull rather than social. Overall, I found the staff to be less friendly than expected. Even small interactions felt unwelcoming; for example, although happy hour was advertised as starting at 7:00 pm, I was refused a drink at 6:59 and told to wait exactly one more minute before being served.
These small but cumulative issues significantly affected my stay, and I wouldn’t choose to stay here again. I understand that others may have had a better experience; this was simply mine.

You get what you paid for; the women’s dorm smells like feet as it’s not ventilated well and is quite small. I think it’s from the slippers they provided. Socialization is non-existent for the women. Location is good as it’s not far from Tokyo station. However, it’s quite a bit of walk from the stations so be aware if you have lots of luggages.

I love this little hostel. Super cozy, clean, great location — unbelievably close to multiple kombini, eatery, bus and metro stations, and several Anytime Fitness gyms. Staff members were professional, friendly and helpful. I wish I knew all their names; I only got Mio and Kentaro's.
I am the most thankful for their prayer room. It's a very unique and rare feature but so necessary for some travellers like myself. The biggest reason why I chose this hostel was because of the prayer room and I was not disappointed one bit. I also really like the towel / clothing rack and hanger provided in your bunk bed space. I have stayed in a ton of hostels and this is the first place I see this. They also provide a pair of slippers and first towel for free. It's evident that lots of thoughts had gone into the designing of this place and their services, and I just appreciate everything so much. I would definitely recommend this place to any traveller like me — backpacker, not a partyer, doesn't like large loud groups, appreciates lights out before 11pm (theirs is 9pm but you have your own light in your bunk), enjoys meeting people in a calm and organic setting. I will definitely stay here again when I go back to Tokyo. Thank you to everyone at Hostel Den! お世話になりました。☺️

One of the best hostels I've ever stayed in. The location is great, right in between two metro stations and outside of the hostel it is very quiet at night. The rooms and facilities are clean and well maintained.
The staff and people were the highlight for me. The common room is pretty small, this together with the happy hour makes for a great social atmosphere where its very easy to meet people. People would flock to the happy hour, would usually make plans to go out from there and split of into little groups for the night. I've met so many amazing people here.
The staff are all amazing and are really friendly and helpful.
I will definitely be coming back!

Nice little Hostel with friendly staff. I slept in a 6 men dorm, each bed has a curtain and all the necessities. Highly recommend this hostel.

The people there are so good, the place is extremely clean, the staff are amazing. There is genuinely no faults that I could have with Hostel DEN. Thank you for all the memories and thank you for the free drinks at happy hour ;)

Best hostel I've been to. Lovely staff, met lots of kind people, they have all the facilities you need (shower, washer, dryer, kitchen, etc). Will definitely be returning.

Really nice accommodation. I enjoyedy stayed here. However I unfortunatly I could feel the floor of my bed. I think it was just very old. Otherwise the place was amazing.

Close to station and conbini, Staff are friendly. Room is kinda like capsule bunk bed Good enough to sleep in. 1 free beer everyday from 7 to 8pm in the lobby and socialising with people staying there. Roof top is great too Would recommend.

Great location to nearby stations, great service and had some some good amenities (washer/dryer available, drinks to buy or you can make your own teas / coffee) they also provided 1 free drink a day during 'happy hour'.
The toilet and showering facilities were shared spaces but were kept clean and tidy and in good use.
We had no issues whilst we stayed there and was a good central location to many areas of Tokyo. Highly recommend.

Must book rooms on site for $3500yen. When booking on online it's way too expenny. Great spot to stay when at the local price! Showers are good. Rooms are good. Free water on arrival. Yeee good!

You are guaranteed to love this place and the wonderful people who work there. It’s a fantastic spot to meet new people during your stay. I highly recommend it for solo travelers as well as groups! Next to Hostel Den is also lovely caffè place with homemade puddings.

If you’re an extrovert who likes to meet new people on the daily, this hostel is for you. But if you’re an introvert, I don’t suggest this place. I couldn’t bring home food here because I can only eat in the ground floor where it is always crowded and noisy. As an introvert, it felt very awkward. There is a working space but it’s small and the lights are off most of the time so I can’t eat there too.
Nevertheless the staff are nice and accommodating. They gave me an extra blanket when I was freezing one night. It’s also not hard to communicate because they speak English.
I suggest they check their walls for damages because it rained one night and in my room, water seeped in through the wall near the emergency exit/window. A puddle formed on the floor due to this.

A friendly hostel that also has some private rooms. Showers were very clean. Great place to socialize with other travelers! Complimentary beer and rooftop patio were enjoyable.

It's a good hostel in a quiet part of town. It's close to a few train stations.
You get one free towel to use, additional charge to change the towel. Body wash and shampoo provided. Probably the best shower setup I have seen so far in hostels.
A free drink every evening from 7-8 pm. It was a nice incentive to meet other lodgers.

Stayed at this hostel for 4 nights in a female only dorm. Location is amazing, with nearby subway lines making it easy to get around Tokyo.
Cleanliness was okay, the bathroom sinks were always wet / dirty. There was many broken things during the time of my stay (toilets in the female only level and drier)
The room is fine, linens were fresh and clean. I did find it got very warm at night (even for early October)
They give you leather slippers to wear inside the place but I found these not clean and didn’t want to wear them.
The reception area is very cluttered and messy. It has a social area and there are often many people sitting there socializing but I noticed no one cleaned up after themselves. I also found the stairways to be a bit mucky looking.
Staff themselves were lovely and kind. Overall my stay was fine but it could have been a bit cleaner.
