Reviews of Hakone Ashinoko Hanaori 3*
It’s very new and very well designed modern Japanese onsen hotel resort. Interesting and lovely relaxed place to hang out with foot bath with the lake view at the lounge at same level of reception. Onsen is well-maintained and clean. Buffet dining for breakfast and dinner is good too.
Wonderful stay. This hotel was able to accommodate our family of 4 at a very reasonable price for the area. This hotel serves breakfast and dinner, buffet style and was also very wonderful. The public onsen was very clean and very refreshing and soothing after four days of sightseeing in Tokyo. We wished we had booked another night. But alas we had to leave to continue our journey to Kyoto.

We stayed here 2 days. The hotel is fairly new with some great amenities. Location is great right next door to the ropeway. We had a room with a private bath which is a bit far from the main lobby and restaurant. The good: • Great rooms • Very friendly and helpful staff! • Amazing onsen! (although pricey ¥3000/40 min) • Nice views • Location • kids friendly Room for improvement: • The food option is disappointing. The presentation was nice and there is a western choice for breakfast, but it wasn't memorable. Given the price we expected more. (Especially if you stay more than 1 day you get the same buffet every day! ) • No bar! There is no nice place to have a few drinks after dinner. Only limited choice at lobby area or during dinner, but no atmosphere. Conclusion : A bit overpriced for what you get. We enjoyed our stay, but wasn't memorable enough to come back. It didn't stand out besides the onsen and the staff.
