We spent 2 nights in February. This is a really lovely and charming hotel. The staff was really helpful and friendly. Our room was modern, well-equipped and that old and ancient stairwell! It was a real hiking tour to go up and down every day, but we loved it:). Breakfast was ok, I missed some hot meals, but otherwise we found plenty of choice. I recommend this hotel!

Cleanliness, bathroom, room size, breakfast correspond to a 2-star standard. There is practically no hotel bar. Wi-Fi connection_does not work_in the room, TV hardly useable. You have to do something outside, which can be a money problem in Venice at most.
+ I would still go back, because the location of the hotel is fantastic: quiet and still on the pulse; the breakfast for Italian conditions okay. Staff is friendly. Enjoy images on the Internet with caution.

Rooms are just beautiful with adequate space. Bathroom/rooms are neat and clean. Helpful staff. They serve nice breakfast. Good hotel for stay.

Small cosy hotel in old walls, a little off and quiet, right on a small canal. I was booked there right away!

The Hotel Pausania was beautiful and part of a wonderful stay in Venice. The staff were very very helpful and friendly, going out of their way to get us any thing or information we needed. Breakfast was good but a little cramped at peak times. Be sure to remember that you can ask for espresso drinks from the servers. The building itself is beautiful, a great example of the "elegant decay" of Venice (aesthetically, don't worry about anything falling apart). Charming place to come back to. The location is perfect, out of the way of much of the crowds, though close to many places for quick delicous bites of food. We were also there for High Water — that was pretty fun.

Nice view, friendly staff, clean, old furniture but works with the artistic theme, nice small smoking balcony, the location was hard to find at first but worth the stay!

Spacious rooms but no elevator and the stairs are very high. In the bathroom, the Altisima bathtub makes it difficult to access. Even the towel rack was high. I had to jump in order to get the shower towels and measure 1 ' 70… ☹ not recommend it for older people or reduced mobility.

Beautiful place… Many young students… Café very inexpensive. Cappuccino with soy milk only 1, €60 5 minutes to the line 1 Vaparetto here you get everywhere.

Had a great stay at Pausania. Staff were very friendly, room was enough for my needs for the price and bathroom was good quality. Would stay there again.

I had everything I needed for the stay. Very uncomfortable shower/bath.

We asked for a double room and when we arrived at 11 they did not have the room to enter and we were asked to leave our suitcases at the entrance, I find it shameful that they do not have a private place to store the suitcases so I don't have them left at the entrance in sight of all. On the other hand late in the afternoon we came to the room and they tried to give us a single room with a plegable bed. We claim and threaten that we were leaving we got the best room. That yes before we were lied to saying that they had no more rooms. Good thing it's over.

Nice little hotel in the heart of Venice and still away from the hustle and bustle of tourists. Wonderful.

The photos of the rooms that post on the website do not correspond to the reality, the standard room is dwarf, it is claustrophobic, it's like being in a hideout.

Really recommend breakfast too class. The cappuccino tastes great. Rooms are very tidy.

Perfect small boutique hotel for us in Venice. Loved the low-key neighborhood with easy access to two water taxi lines. So peaceful to hear church bells from our windows. Note, this hotel not suitable for anyone who cannot do stairs. We enjoyed this hotel and would use it again.

It is a lovely and great hotel with beautiful rooms. The stuff is helpful and friendly. And a special thanx for Martina. This hotel is located very central and nice bars and restaurants are not far away. Highly recommend the Hotel Pausania and we want to come back here for our next arrival in venice. Slept great! The front desk staff is real helpful, answered all my questions and provided directions and maps. This hotel is in a convenient location with some nice shops and good restaurants.

Nice little family hotel, very old building that is constantly being renovated. Conveniently located, on foot and with the water bus.

Came to this hotel after seeing it on a booking site. The site said "free shuttle from the airport", which was a big reason we picked it. There was no shuttle. Nonetheless, it was easy to find from the bus station. The rooms themselves are adequate. Two twin beds pushed together equal a king, I suppose. The bathroom was very small, but useable. The shower was very short and we had to, in essence, hunch over to shower. Also be aware, check out tax is cash only. We were told at check-in that "cash was preferred, but not required. " We went to check out with a card and were told it was cash only, even though there were two credit card machines behind the desk. This forced my better half to go find an ATM, in the rain, in a country in which we did not speak the language. Maybe put an ATM in the lobby for next time if it's going to be cash only? I wouldn't stay here again, but venice was beautiful.

Excellent location — you can walk here from the station in about 15 minutes, or its about 5 minutes from the nearest water bus stop. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby in some lovely little squares. There's even a Gondola stop just up the canal if that's your thing. Our room was small, and the bathroom was even smaller — you had to manoeuvre yourself between the toilet and hand basin to get the door closed. We went in July, and I believe the hotel was full. As such they didn't have enough room at breakfast for all the guests. A couple of families were waiting quite a while. Breakfast itself was continental, and adequate.

Beautiful venetian palace with frescos on the ceilings, a quant "leaning" staircase, large rooms, and wonderful staff. Close to EVERYTHING, yet very quiet part of town.

We are on our honeymoon, which the hotel knew about. They gave us a room with two single beds put together and a bathroom with a slanted celling. You have to sit on your knees in the bathtub to take a shower. Plus when we asked the front desk for recommendations for what to visit in Venice, the answer was "you don't know what you want to visit in Venice?! ". Similar responses to other typical tourist questions.

Terrible service and terrible rooms, avoid this place at all costs. We had paid for a 2 bed room and was given a room barely big enough for 1 person, after being moved on the second night the toilet was covered in mould and I even found mould on our pillows. The staff were extremely rude the entire time and made us feel very uncomfortable. I will never return to this place.

This hotel is charming, The ancient stairwell added to the character of the place. Lovely room, delightful Venetian ceiling light. The staff were helpful, especially on our day of departure when a strike was called on the Vaparetta… helping us to avoid high charges on the water taxi.
Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice to suit any palate. Lovely quiet area too. Would love to visit again, like now!

We stayed for 5 nights and come back, this hotel is really special. Hotel is located in the best locations in Venice, provided a resting place for many tourists. We love to walk in here very, very quiet. Hotels near museums, antique shops, let us feel strong art. Staff was very friendly and when we asked if they could find a room with a better view to us, they are easy-going, we view good rooms. The entrance of the Hotel looks old, pictures are a bit unclear. An employee of the hotel told us the hotel's history, let us immediately excited. Particularly grateful to all the staff in the hotel and look forward to coming again.

It was an average stay. The breakfast was decent, but not the best thing I have. One of our rooms smelled bad, sort of like feet. They also made us return our keys every time we left which isnt rare, but its just a practice that I find annoying. The hotel itself was very old, historic and cool. There was a nice sitting room and it is located close to a vaparreto stop.

Nice hotel, you have to turn the key in when you leave so its a mild inconvenience but other wise it was pretty nice.
