Was at a wedding last Saturday, absolutely fantastic day, food amazing, we were at table 12 and were being looked after by a great team, especially a young girl called Ash and young man called oren so well done guys, ye looked after us so well and were polite and efficient.

Food unreal staff friendly and nice clean and the baileys cheesecake yummy we will be back ❤❤💯🇮🇪🍀

What a beautiful setting & a stunning building. The owners & staff are friendly & helpful throughout. We have eaten here several times & always enjoy the food. Excellent quality, great portions & good value. The bar area has lots of comfy seating, ideal for a lazy Sunday afternoon drinks & dining. Will be back again soon 😁

Recently attended a wedding on the 28th December and all I could say is wow. Had a great 2 night stay. The Food, Service and Covid-19 safety was just excellent. The rooms were comfortable maybe a little too warm. We had room service one morning and breakfast in main hall second morning. Everything was just 100% and the staff were to attentive. Well done, would highly recommend as a family break or Wedding Venue for upcoming brides and grooms.

I spent 3 days at Abbey hotel Roscommon. It is a fabulous hotel. Lovely friendly staff. Exquisite food. The rooms are bright and clean. Everywhere is COVID aware and has everything in place to protect the guests and staff. I would highly recommend this hotel and it has the old abbey ruin at the back. It’s full of history. I will go back there.

Just back from a fabulous 2 night family stay. Really enjoyed it and price was very reasonable, room and leisure facilities spotless. Food in hotel was gorgeous,,, we highly recommend it, Weather was terrible but didnt take away from our break and we found plenty to do. Location good to explore roscommon. Hotel staff very helpful and following covid guidelines well to make guests feel safe…

Eoin and I got married in the Abbey Hotel on 27th July 2019. We were blown away by the fantastic service and attention that we received from start to finish from the Grealy family. The staff at this beautiful hotel were extremely helpful, so professional and an absolute pleasure to deal with. Thank you sincerely to Tom, Adrian and Julie for making our special day so stress free and amazing. The food and hospitality was outstanding on the day. The grounds are fantastic and we got amazing photo opportunities at the Abbey Hotel.

Was out for valentine's can't complement the hotel enough myself and my partner had an excellent night food was delicious service was brilliant very efficient and had great night in the bar afterwards well done to all staff definitely will return again.

We had our wedding reception in the Abbey Hotel on the 7th of December 2019. The level of professionalism and service we received right from our initial show around was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble! The food was fantastic and cooked to perfection, right down to the temperature of the fillet of beef. All guests we have spoken to have remarked on it. The day from start to finish was absolutely fabulous. The wedding coordinators were brilliant and very responsive with emails and calls. Sarah was wonderful on the day and had everything running like clockwork, no detail was overlooked. We could not have been more thrilled with how our day went and would highly recommend the Abbey Hotel for any future couple looking to book their wedding reception.

We had our wedding in the Abbey Hotel in July and I couldn't recommend them enough. Lisa was absolutely amazing in all the help in the run up to the wedding and on the day itself — we knew we didnt have to worry about a single thing because we knew we were in great hands from start to finish. Anything we asked for — there was a way to do it! The staff were amazing — we brought some of our own decor and couldn't get the right sort of ivy to finish it off so one of the ladies who was working there offered to take some in from her home on the day of the wedding to put the finishing touches on. That sort of personalized service is invaluable especially when it comes to your Wedding Day. Thank you so much for everything! If you are considering the Abbey for your wedding — stop considering and just book it — you wont regret it!

We had our wedding here on the 5th of October and we cannot recommend the Abbey Hotel highly enough. From our first meeting with Julie the co-ordinator we felt completely at ease, everything we asked for was catered for and everybody we dealt with made the process so simple it really took the stress out of the organisation. We had our ceremony in the hotel also, which was decorated and catered for beautifully. The evening meal was fantastic, every bit of feedback from our guests was the food was excellent and it just kept on coming. Our guests cannot speak highly enough of the experience they had at our wedding thanks to the service and staff of the Abbey Hotel. A massive thank you to Julie, the Grealy family and all the staff of the Abbey who made our wedding everything we wanted it to be and more. Anyone looking for a beautiful venue, great service and a very reasonable price do yourself a favour and make an appointment to speak to someone here.

Recommend everything staff are amazing I had my wedding there. Nothing not even my daft ideas were an issue. Every staff member I met was extremely pleasant and helpful. Hotel itself is beautiful old world meets new world tastefully which makes for comfortable surrounds to relax and lose track if time. It was so nice stayed a second night!

We got married in the Abbey Hotel on the 4th of October and we can not recommend it highly enough. From the minute we booked the venue right through until we checked out the day after the wedding the staff were exceptional and could not do enough for us, they made everything run so smoothly. Julie the wedding co-ordinator was a pleasure to work with. Julie is very professional at her job and extremely approachable to help with any queries, she made everything so easy for us in the build up and on the day itself. She was a joy to work with. The day of the wedding the management and staff were so helpful and friendly to both us and our guests. During the meal the management regularly checked in with us to make sure everything was ok for us and they ensured everything ran smoothly. Our guests all commented on the beautiful meal and excellent service provided. For any couples thinking of having their wedding at the Abbey Hotel you will definitely not regret doing so. Thanks again for everything.

Stayed here for 2 nights with my husband and kids. Staff were so friendly. Rooms was spotlessly clean and food was excellent. Kids spent most of their time in the pool. Will definitely be back. Thanks for making our stay so enjoyable.

Top class food and accommodation close to Roscommon town centre. Reasonably priced for the level of Quality. Onsite pool and gym. Historical ruined Abbey in the grounds from which the hotel takes its name. The Sirloin steak comes highly recommended. Never suffered disappointment at the Abbey in many years of dining and staying overnight. An excellent base to tour the Midlands and West!

We have returned to this hotel on several occasions. The staff are excellent and always provide a warm, caring service and always try to help with any request. The food menu in the bar is always delicious and well priced. All areas are very clean. I would highly reccomend the hotel to all age groups and anyone with specific needs.

Food is Ok. They always have a roast on a Sunday there is usually not allot of seating and the walk ways are crowded so be careful. The bedroom are actually really nice though, So don't be deceived from the outside.

If the Abbey Hotel is on your short list as a wedding venue — move it to the top as fast as you can! We had the most magical wedding day 21.04.18. Lisa Mullally is absolutely superb as are all the team here. The sun was shining and we arrived to our drinks reception moved outside to the delight of ourselves and all of our guests. I have been receiving nothing but the highest of praise about the food and service our guests received on the day — it was truly outstanding. My sister's stayed over on a car emergency. They both were met personally by management and assured they were in good hands throughout their troubles. Fantastic service, great food and a huge welcome.

We got married on Friday the 2nd March 2018 and our reception was in the Abbey Hotel, Roscommon. As storm Emma descended upon the country and brought Ireland to a standstill, who knew what lay ahead for us on our wedding day. As anxiety and worry set in and the rollercoaster of emotions began, a comforting phonecall from our wedding co-ordinator Lisa finally brought the tears to a front. Tears of relief on this occasion as the Abbey hotel understood what we must be going through. Lisa and the Grealy family offered compassion, reassurance, help and assistance in order to make things as easy as possible for us and the situation we were in. Let's not forget that a red weather warning was in place and people were advised to stay indoors and not to leave their homes due to the snow. This however did not stop the Abbey Hotel and their staff showing up to work to prepare and present what can only be described as the first class service we received on our wedding day. The food on the day was superb and more than lived up to the reputation we had heard so often about. We are still recieving compliments to that regard. From the minute we walked through the door to organise our wedding, to the moment we left, the hospitality and professionalism of Lisa, the Grealy family and their staff shone through. For this we will be forever grateful and we will never forget all you did for us. Your hotel will come highly recommended by us. Thanks again from the bottom of our hearts, the new Mr.

Beautiful meal in the Bar really comfortable surroundings. Really warm it was a very cold miserable evening outside and to come in to the warmeth and friendship of the Management and Staff.

Very disappointed, staff were unwelcome and the food was not fresh and cold. On the plus its wheel chair accessible and a wheelchair was available on our arrival.

We had our wedding which was a civil ceremony in the Abbey hotel last Thursday 28th December. Anything I say about the Abbey hotel would not do it justice. It was fantastic from start to finish. Lisa the wedding co-ordinator is an amazing person, brilliant at her job & Tom the owner is gentleman. Nothing we asked for was ever too much hassle, from the very start always at hand to assist in any way. The day itself the suite for the ceremony was beautifully decorated and the hotel really emphasised the Christmas feel. The meal was absolutely fantastic, our guests kept praising it. Staff were so helpful and were excellent in particular Luke at tending to the young children and making sure they had all they wanted. I would recommend any couple thinking of getting married to really consider Abbey hotel. You will go along way to find anything better. Thank you for making our day so special. My experience at the Abbey was amazing, the staff are all friendly and helpful and their spa is gorgeous. A 1 minute walk from the train station and set in a quiet location. Highly recommended.

Where to start, we cannot say enough good things about the Abbey. This is mostly down to Lisa the wedding coordinator. She was an absolute pleasure to talk to and discuss things with. She's a woman that knows her job inside out. Nothing is a problem to Lisa. The meal was simply fabulous, efficient, hot, fresh and there was no shortage of seconds. Even some guests complimented how nice the cup of tea was. The ballroom and the Abbey itself looked fabulous. The Greally family were on hand to welcome us and delighted to see the horse and carriage. The staff were brilliant especially the bar staff, again no delays getting served. The Abbey is a landmark in Roscommon town. A renowned wedding venue, it is also hugely popular for its food and for the impressive leisure centre and pool. The hotel is a restored building adjacent to the historic remains of the old Abbey. The grounds are mature and excellently maintained. This is an elegant and luxurious hotel, with a friendly and efficient staff. A favourite spot for many Ros common dwellers for a variety of reasons.

We were here for a radio show with Bobby Kerr. Show started at 10am but we arrived ahead of time. We decided to have some breakfast and it was terrible. It was €12.50 per person and we literally paid just to have cereal. The service was atrocious and it wasn't a vegan friendly breakfast either. The food was cold and there wasn't much of an option. If you have gluten allergies then you would be stuck for breakfast as everything is mixed in together. The atmosphere for the whole place was just dull. The advertising and the actual reality of the place would have you feel ripped off as the place is not offering value for money.

Lovely relaxing place to visit feels cosy private. Lovely decor throughout. Traditional style.

Stayed for two nights wit my 3 kids and mother. Had a great time kids loved the pool.

Ruby Aniversary of my folks, booked for lunch mid-afternoon on a glorious day. We were grudgingly allowed a wall table with a great view, thanks a mill. The restaurant's decor was very nice, modern and clean, the white table cloth had a couple of holes. Our waitress was inattentive, slow, and unconcerned with our comfort, we ordered the wine list menu four times, btw the menus did came on brown print out, do not even bother to put it in a plastic inside the menu book. After waiting about 10 minutes for her even to appear, he rushed us to order, then never returned until she brought the check. The prawn cocktail, very seventies looked like came from the lidl fridge bag, small and not tasty had a limp lettuce leaf, cheap iceberg with a huge piece of lemon as decoration. Another Starter was melon, three types, very eighties and something between a puré and a kinda cream. I had the focaccia sandwich which I had to repeat three times because the waiter did not undertand. Not very appealing.
I will not comment on the mains, the frozen boiled veggies, looked like tesco frozen rosted potatoes, reheat it we do not know how many times during the week, it was Sunday. Everything looked like cooked two days ago. We had potatoes, lots of them, we did not order them, too many, mash potatoes, boiled potaoes and the roasted spuds. Too much for me and for the Irish guys too.

Nice rooms of a little dated. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Very nice grounds and close to the town. The attached leisure centre is nice and very child friendly. This is a nice place to stay if you are in Roscommon.

We had the two young kids here today. Perfect spot when you have kids. Friendly staff. Baby changing room is the best I've seen in this area. Clean and good food. Sure what moor do ya want on a sunny Sunday. The abbey is worth a look. We went there a while back. would love to stay here some time.

Review is for the Abbey restaurant, not the hotel. Had family get-together at the restaurant. The food was ok. Certainly nothing to write home about. Fish (hake) was desperately over-cooked and dried out. Salad was ok. Side vegetables were actually the best part of the meal. Price was quite good and room was attractive. But food was meh.

The historic old abbey is located beside the hotel; making the location ideal and convenient for wedding photos or an after meal walk. The portion sizes are great and the food is well made with a menu suitable for an Irish palate. Burgers are amazing stacked high with flavour — your hunger will be a distant memory. Would recommend the curry was very tasty and not too hot.

Cosy bar and excellent bar menu. Very good dinner menu. Food was excellent and staff and dining staff very observant and attentive to what was needed as had a family event here. Toilets spotless. Highly recommended.

Had a family event recently, there. The staff couldn't do enough to make everything run smoothly. They did more than we had asked on a number of occasions-superb, friendly service. The food in the restaurant was really lovely-fantastic menu. We really enjoyed the stay.

Room I had was a bit dated and bed wasn't the best I've had in a hotel but to stay for the price I paid it was certainly good value. Unlike most hotels cheap room had good view. Hotel bar food of very good standard! After staying on a work related visit to the hotel I can honestly say I would like to return to enjoy it as a weekend getaway with my wife in a dearer room.

Top class, food is unreal, staff are great, rooms are spotless, there is a kids club from 5pm — 8pm and I would be a bit uncomfortable sending my kids to one but it was in a conference room with a great girl entertaining the kids and they loved it and demanded to go every evening, can even eat there but we collected them to eat with us and they could return after eating… leisure centre is excellent, large pool, kiddies pool, jacuzi, sauna, steam room, plunge pool, get towels for every one going. Nice green area in front of hotel we played tennis and frisbee, would give this hotel 10 out of 10 and definitely go back!

Nice hotel in a walking distance from Roscommon city centre. Decent rooms, pool, gym, sauna and a hot tub. Area is very quite.
