This was the worst "hotel" experience I have ever experienced. It was basically a hostel labelled as a hotel, but to be honest, I haven't stayed in a worse hostel either.
After a certain point in the evening, all the staff just disappear, and it just descends into chaos. Guests marching up and down the stairs, shouting, singing, banging on doors. Guests fighting in their rooms until early morning. I'm pretty sure there were people there that weren't even guests. We paid for 2 nights in this "hotel" and got around 2 hours sleep overall, and that's because we passed out due to exhaustion.
The only good thing about this hotel is the location, but keep the windows closed. The noise outside the hotel is nearly as bad as it is inside… nearly.

Never came a cross a man as impolite as the bar staff. Secuity were eff 100%

Stayed here last night rooms are very up to date lovely dressing table, full length mirror, TV & tea/coffee facilities. Staff are very accommodating and lovely to detail with especially bar man Johnny.

Absolutely great place to stay have stayed a few times with family they also loved it and very central to everything.

Great location, nice room but a lot of street noise from early hours.

Went for breakfast on a Sunday. Man working there seemed to be very ditsy/forgetful/ out of his depth/didn't want to be there. Not sure which there was about 6 or so tables had yet to be cleared off, and there was only 1 table of people in there eating when we went in. That table of people left not long after us getting there and still wasnt cleaned off by the time we were leaving. Didn't seem like a very busy place either. We ordered a few simple dishes and teas/coffees. Not very difficult to get wrong. 1 of the girls got her food first — COLD toast. No butter /cutlery on table for her. Brought out a 1 person tea pot with 2 big mugs for tea for 2. Had to ask for another tea. The rest of our food came out eventually, but the first girl was long finished by the time it came out. Was only ok. Wouldn't go again. Need to get new staff.

Very friendly reception and customer service, The room's are very welcoming and the bar and restaurant on the premise is useful for getting something to eat. I would definitely recommend it and would come again.

Fantastic spot for stags or hens all your mates in one room all u need for a good stay.

Very bad experience. The old and cold rooms for how expensive they cost.

The personal is super friendly! The room was very clean and well prepared. The location is also very good — in the centre, close to everything and super comfortable and easy to find. I would definitely sleep there again, if I visit Kilkenny again.

Decent for the price. Rooms are outdated but location is great. Staff is friendly. Little parking in the surroundings.

Terrible it opened at 5pm day we were there and shut at 7pm stay away from if.

This is not in my eyes a hotel. It is more like a hostel with unsuited. No food at all available except a vending machine.

Not that nice, very disorganized and disappointing rooms no lock on front door.

Clean rooms, but the place is kinda loud. Drunk companies shout and make noise in the stairway till 5am.

This was the most dirty hotel iv ever stayed in. And was woke up at 8 am to builders knocking a wall down to make a door and the staff could not of given a Fuck about it… kilkenny is an amazing place but this hotel was a horrible experience I wouldn't recommend it to anyone I was supposed to stay 2 days but after one night in that hotel I had enough.

Was staying at the metropoles "sister" hotel the parliment inn. What a dump, place is a fire hazard, no bin in the room, shower didnt work, carpet and two types of wooden floor in one room, the mirror was thick with dust, no tea/coffee facilities. Paid 400 euro for one night for 5 bed jammed into one room. Very disapointing. Staff of the metropole couldnt care less when we compalined. Manager is extremly rude. Still waiting to be contacted by owner.

Great food, atmosphere and good Craic, a must visit.

Top spot grate place for a pint good food & accommodation very central. Grate value.!
