Love it here and took my daughter today who is home from States on holiday. We enjoyed our coffee and cakes but when I returned from paying the bill my coffee had disappeared! My daughter who used to work in the hotel business was horrified and said you are not meant to clear away til everyone is finished, or at least ask first. Otherwise we had a nice time.

We stayed in mount Falcon a couple of times over the years but this time we were visiting to try the Falconry ‘Birds of Prey’ experience. We had an amazing couple of hours with Martin and these incredible creatures. Martins knowledge, personality and patience shone through and we were blown away by just how amazing these birds are. I would highly recommend both the hotel and the falconry.

Wow. What an amazing time we had with Martin and Anna and Pheonix the Harris hawk! Highly recommend a visit. It was so so nice. The grounds are beautiful and who knew they are always opened to the public for walks, picnics etc… Well worth going. Thank you so much.

We had a truly Wonderful experience in mount falcon today. We stayed in the hotel a few weeks ago and done the hawk walk, with Martin the falconer, he has amazing experience and puts so much time and energy into his work making sure that we had an amazing experience.
I returned today with my daughters, and again it was truly magical. We done the bird of prey experience. It’s was really enjoyable, my children loved every second
again with Martin giving them a fantastic and educational experience. And we also got to spend time with the beautiful hotel dogs.

We have had the BBQ in the bamboo tent twice over the summer as well as a pizza lunch over the weekend for the movie with kids. Food was fabulous every time & staff are lovely and friendly. Love the peaceful grounds and paths for a nice walk. Cannot recommend Mount Falcon enough!

Mount Falcon is a beautiful place with lots of wonderful things to offer, however, they seem to be unable to cope at the present and service during our week's visit was extremely poor, as was the food. It must be said that the staff are amazing in general, very helpful and keen to please but the systems they have in place are working against them. On three occasions we dined in the outdoor tent and experienced hour long delays in service, cold food and complete lack of choice, especially for children. The nightly menu is bbq with salads and baked potato as sides, with pizza (which was undercooked) as the only other option for kids. We stayed in one of the houses, which are nice and well appointed, however there is a lack of activities on site, for what was advertised as a family friendly hotel. Only the golfing range was suitable for our 13 year olds. Being a lovely setting, this is perhaps better for families with younger kids content to run around the grounds and use the little playground, but for our kids' age-group (9-13) it didn't tick boxes. The pool was closed as a result of covid, which we understood, though this wasn't pointed out when I booked. All in all, they are missing the mark and while our complaints were patiently listened to, an overhaul of the system is required — more staff, more entry points for updating orders and certainly more variety on the menus.

What a gem outside of Ballina. Mount Falcon ticks all the boxes during this difficult situation with all the COVID protocols adhered to. Great food and Live Entertainment.

Once we arrived we just didnt want to leave! The lodges are set amongst beautiful woodlands — great for exploring. My boys were fascinated by the rainbow trout jumping in the lake. The falconry experience was so much fun and very educational too. We tried our hand at the clay pigeon shooting. But landing wild salmon on the banks of the Moy had to be the highlight of the week! All this, while being well fed & looked after in the bamboo tent — delicious food, great service & entertainment. What's not to like!

Went there for a wedding and found the staff to be rather unapproachable and unhelpful. There was free glasses of Prosecco and a stand for mold wine yet there was nobody handing out glasses or letting us know that we could take one. Only realized we were allowed to after being told by other guests.
Their menu also didn’t cater for vegetarians or vegans which in this day and age is shocking. All they could offer was a few roast vegetables fired onto a plate which a bit of a joke to say the least.
It took nearly an hour and a half between each course to actually get our meals which was dreadful and hair was found in one of the soups they had served.
There was one person working at the bar for the entire night which resulted in queuing for ages and the prices were absolutely ridiculous and there was very little to choose from.
They also refused to take any phone chargers behind the bar, it wouldn’t have been that hard to invest in a few extension sockets to plug into the walls for people.
The hotel itself is also extremely dull and dark and the halls were quite narrow, I was bumped into on numerous occasions by waitress staff and there is very little seating areas around the place aside from the seating room across from the boathole bar which is just a few sofas and chairs crammed into a small room, it was quite hard to move around.
The Boathole bar itself is very small and has next to no seating which is shocking.

Great experience for my wife to see where the family comes from.

Attended Mount Falcon Estate for a function and the facilities and grounds were spectacular. The staff literally could not have been more professional or helpful and the meal that was served was perfect. The quality of ingredients was both seasonal and wonderful. I would highly recommend Mount Falcon Estate for any visitor to the area or for any private function. You will not be disappointed. Thank you to the staff for such a fabulous day.

€5.50 for a a pint and it is pure muck. Shouldnt class themeselves as bar people as the bar staff may be polite but haven’t a clue.

Excellent accommodation staff are lovely couldn't fault it in any way it's just beautiful.

The falconry, excellent food, and piece and quiet. Staff is wonderful as well. I will be staying here again in September.

We had afternoon tea there today it was lovely staff very friendly and very reasonable priced we meet a lovely lady call tricia she showed us around and was a very nice lady and very good at her job.

The staff are so friendly, the food is just great, a lot coming from the kitchen garden.
The grounds are nice for a morning stroll, and there are so many waters to fish within a short drive.
Mine was a fishing break, and just great for what I wanted.

Amazing venue, absolutely takes your breath away as you drive in from the main road. The staff are all fantastic particularly Cian and Jonathan bar tenders and Daniel the Falconer. Lovely, lovely people and can't do enough for you. The rooms are stunning and very clean. I will definitely be coming back soon :)

Had an amazing spa experience yesterday in Mount Falcon — big thank you to Annette my therapist, I had the Neom DeStress treatment and it was just fantastic. Myself and my friends also had lunch in the lounge, fabulous food and the staff are just brilliant — highly recommend Mount Falcon, it ticks all the boxes, great service, great food and a gorgeous spa. Well done and keep up the good work.

If you like old world places then this is for you. It wouldn't be my 1st choice. Too rustic for my taste too much creaking floor boards. The bed so heavy couldn't move it to prevent constantly bumping into side table sticking out beside the bed. Breakfast good but failed on the white pudding, which had an unnatural pasty texture, also my fried eggs overcooked. I wasn't asked how I wanted them. The breakfast finishes at 10.30, see below for pool, spa, gym opening times at wkends! We didn't eat evening meal as too expensive and the reviews were patchy. The pool and spa didn't open until 9.00 am at weekends so too late for me, should be same time 7.00 am as weekdays. I didn't use the gym, same reason. Beautiful grounds. The activities are far far too expensive and are aimed at very wealthy Americans I felt. Archery, falcon viewing, fishing in their lake (a pond really) should be included in the room price or just a nominal charge. Staff attentive, but a bit snooty on reception. Good parking facilities. I don't think they offer an airport shuttle bus anymore. Lodges look interesting.

Really loved our stay here, friendly, welcoming and helpful staff especially Deirdre, Saoirse and Rianna in the kids club made sure our 3 little ones were well entertained while mammy and daddy had a quiet drink in the bar. The Woodlands lodges were fantastic and cosy with plenty of room. Loved our stay…

We stayed at Mount Falcon for two nights during our honeymoon in Ireland and it was the grandest, most elegant place I've ever stayed. Our room was stunning and was bigger than our apartment at home! The Falcon walk is not to be missed; we also enjoyed archery lessons during our stay which was also very fun. We dined at the restaurant both nights and the food and service was excellent. We hope one day to return to this very special place. Savor every minute of your stay!

Poor breakfast, no sockets beside bed and only 2 teabags per room per day. Only hot food after 5pm is set dinner for 59 euros. Room was lovely though.

As I was traveling to meet my lovely couple Emily and Tom who are getting married in Mount Falcon in April to finalise all the last details I decided I would stay the night to get a real feel for the venue. Right from the moment you enter into the estate you just know something special awaits you! The driveway up to Mount Falcon is impressionable! And as we entered through the front door we were met with a much appreciated very warm welcome and a cosy fireplace after our lon…g drive. From check in to check out the service and friendliness of every single person working there was amazing. They treated everyone from guests staying there to couples just popping by for a spot of afternoon tea in a very special way.
This is something that particularly stood out to me because it’s something that I consider to be really very important!
When you recommend a venue to a couple you want to know how they will feel when they visit their potential wedding venue. You want them to be made feel special and so they should feel special after all that is where they will celebrate one of the most important days of their lives!
Mount Falcon really has a very personal approach with their wedding couples, taking time out to have a coffee with them when they visit and really get to know them.

A pleasant drive from West Cork to Mount Falcon. The entrance drive into the hotel and the stunning Mount Falcon estate was pretty amazing. Gothic Victorian architecture with the smell of wood burning fires wafted through the air. The smell of wood burning was lovely and homely as you entered through the front door and all the staff at the hotel were courteous, helpful and friendly. Superb leisure centre, award winning spa and the most comfortable bed you just sink into in. … Now the food, where do I start! Absouletly the best food I have tasted in any hotel! The chef had a playful way about the food and the way it was presented and tasted no wonder it is an award winning resturant. Each meal also has a recommendation of paired wine! Just amazing. All the rooms were cosy and warm with log fires burning and the little snug room was a delight to relax and unwind more so after running the World Half Marathon event in Ballina of 13.1 miles. The grounds are perfect for running and walking and so much to do and see at Mount Falcon. It sure was a magical journey and cannot wait to return. Thank you to all the staff for a wonderful weekend — a credit to the hotel.

Mount Falcon is a stunning wedding venue and our guests loved it! We got married here in late May 2017 and it all went perfectly. Alan helped coordinate our wedding very efficiently and we were treated faultlessly on the day too. Given they were catering for 100 people, the food was amazing (especially the canapes! ). Our guests had fun, were impressed with the venue and loved the food — what more can you ask for. The sun even came out. The pool and hot tub were a nice bonus for the day after. Finally, I've never seen such a nice hotel room as the suite we stayed in.

Gorgeous hotel for a wedding, love the gardens for photography and the food is great.

We stayed at this fabulous old world hotel on the 29th and 30th of Novemeber 2014. It was a prize we won through the IHF sponsored by the Mount Falcon. On arrival we were greeted by a beautiful log fire in the foyer. The receptionist took our details and the porter took us to our room. Wow, very impressive and spotless from top to bottom. We booked dinner for 8pm. My wife said it was the best she has ever had and I agree. A 5 course gourmet meal and a bottle of French house red for €30 per bottle. 10/10 all the way. Next day we visited the Foxford Woolen Mills and the Admiral William Brown Centre, both well worth a visit. The Mount Falcon is a treasure for tourists.

Stayed here a couple of years ago for a wedding. Lovely hotel in a typically beautiful Irish setting surrounded by green fields and trees. The rooms and food were 5* and would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the West of Ireland. Deffianetly worth looking at if you're getting married, they were extremely helpful and the day ran nice and smooth as a result and the happy couple remain happy regardless of my speech. Happy sleeping.

Absolutely stunning, a real fairytale castle in a beautiful estate. Has a lovely 6km woodland walk. The reception rooms and bar are steeped in authentic 19th century charm. Food is great, the afternoon tea looked fantastic. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend, its in a world of its own.
