Lovely bar with a nice atmosphere 😊

Have been to sliding rock twice now first time we were in lockdown so kitchen/bar was closed but this time all was open had a lovely meal staff very friendly & helpful. Great breakfast menu we both gluten-free & still had a great big breakfast very tasty… Rooms small but grand for one night. Very very clean rooms (spotless) & very warm had to turn off heat/open window & that was December it was that warm which is a good thing… Had hospital appointment so it's ideal for that it's just straight across from The University hospital. Would highly recommend for a stay. If ever have another appointment we'd deffiently stay again…

First impressions really count, and this place got off to the best possible start with a great welcome from the staff, and in particular, Samantha who was just so friendly and helpful. Really can’t see any negatives coming from this place, room spotless, food that arrived at surrounding tables looked class.

Such great service bar manager Kyle really looked after us will definitely be coming bad absolutely fantastic place and people.

The food was the best I had in a long time and the staff were just fantastic couldnt do enough for us I will most definitely be back very soon 5 stars all round thank you so much.

An amazing place to visit the atmosphere was electric, the staff were wonderful so friendly and inviting with a special thank you to the lovely Ciara who was the hostess with mostess. The food was superb and so reasonably priced. Would hugely recommend the Sliding Rock only negative is the rooms are a little compact but amply supplied with amenities and exceptionally clean. So all in all a wonderful place to visit 100 percent recommend and will return. Thank you all xxx.

Great place to stay the staff go above and beyond to make sure you are happy. Very happy with my stay and 100% will be staying here when I return to the west again!

This is a an anomaly of a place. Full of character and characters. You could meet anyone here from a film star to a footballer and everyone and anyone in between. The food is good and the accommodation is rated in the top twenty places to stay in Galway. Anything could happen here… Magic.

This has to be my favourite spot to stay for a short stint on a budget. Brilliant staff, lovely food, always willing to make your stay relaxing. Very knowledgeable and a great laugh. They even taught me hurling and watched a Galway match there. Even if you go there for a drink, you'd feel like part of the sofa. Thank you team for looking after us in June. Amazing time.

Staff were completely rude, I am a security guard that works across the road with staff. We came for a few quiet drinks and the bar staff (a elderly grey haired man) refused use and asked the manager in front of us like we were nothing if he could serve us the manager said serve them their last drinks and tell them to get out in front of 4 other security guards and a pregnant lady. They served us half of a half portion and told us to get out. An hour later after myself and my friends were served in supermacs the sliding rock was still serving members of the public walking into the pub in front of us. The manager laughed at our displeasent of this whole situation into our faces while closing the door on us… Little did he know the people he refused had an education unlike himself with his own pub that is closing down.

Lovely pub close to the hospital and university… sit down restaurant, food average. Nice pint though and good place to watch sone sport. Betting shop next door. I've enjoyed times here… just plain and simple.

The best Blt in Galway! Great staff, seriously great food, make sure your hungry, large portions and really well priced! Daily specials and a lovely warm cosy comfort spot to get lunch! Highly recommended.

Great atmosphere, lovely staff, great food and they will help you find a Vegan option unlike many restaurants that state their food is 'pre-packed' will definitely be back again.

Fantastic place brilliant food and good value stayed there for a week and was very comfortable staff fantastic well done.

The room is very small, there is only place for the beds and a TV, no other furniture. Since there is a bar underneath you can hear the music in your room late in the evening. The bar is great though, in the morning you can get porridge or very tasty full Irish breakfast. It is not the most comfortable or quiet place but it is close to the Galway city and university and offers a great atmosphere.

The food is great & staff are friendly.

Had lunch there with our 2 very young kids, waitress was lovely and brought colours pencils to occupy the kids, took our order very quickly, our drink came very shortly after and our food in no time at all, and they were busy! Food is tasty and the bar is comfortable.

Had an enjoyable meal here with friends who were staying in a nearby B&B. Not that far from town, across from the hospital. Tasty. Waitress was lovely. Limited options for vegetarians though.

The waitress was so rude! First of taking our plates before we were finished. Dropped the fork on the floor on my mother and never replaced it, she had to finish her meal with a knife… Then we were over charged for 1 extra meal, went to sort it out and she was having none of it, so rude! Eventually another girl came from out the back and told her to go away. Really need to train up your staff in how to give a good service! Maybe offer them a catering and customer services. Food was lovely, but the way the female waitress was will never set foot in there again…

Good food and beer but horrible if you hate football.

Very cozy pub with great atmosphere and food. Perfect for watching sports with a pint and much less crowded than the pubs at the city centre.

Was there on a Friday night. Place a bit dead, would have liked if there was live music there. My friend (female) noted the 95% male clientele, wasn't impressed.

We had a wonderful night in the sliding rock Saturday night for my fathers surprise 70th party. I couldn't recommend the place highly enough Aidan the manager & the staff were absolutely top notch so helpful & friendly couldn't do enough… The food was fantastic nothing basic about it & not your usual finger food very generous & tasty & variety! A great place will def be going back more regular… Thanks again.

Was in here everyday for about two weeks while visiting family in the hospital. Some of the nicest food I've ever eaten! Lovely pints and the staff couldn't do enough for you. They will out on anything you want on the loads of TV's about the place. Nice girl served us most days (think her name was Tara) very friendly. Would highly recommend the sliding rock!
