The brighter side of the hotel, helpful and friendly staff especially the receptionists. Appreciate the hospitality received from Felix, Sovi and Okta for their professionalism in making my stay comfortable and memorable. Even Krisna at the ground cafe & restaurant was very friendly and trust me, he makes the best fried rice at and affordable price.
The dark side of the hotel is the lack of basic facilities. As it was the peak season I was forced to book a standard room. Was surprised, it has no refrigerator and save deposit box. Since it is hot and humid in Malang, the management should have put a refrigerator to store water. Many tourists who stay in the hotel head to Bromo at odd hours and carrying their valuables is a burden. The hotel is clean and nice and if the management has added icing to the cake it would have tasted better. Hope fhe management looks into this problem and add these basic facilities even with a slight increase of the rate.
Coming makes best Nasi goreng Ascent office for his care and share, not forgetting the other staff who made my stay comfortable and memorable.
Unfortunately, I would like to suggest to the management of poor facilities in standard rooms. Since Malang is hot most of the time.

I had a wonderful stay at Ascent Hotel & Cafe Malang. The hotel offers a comfortable and cozy atmosphere, making it a great place to relax. Located in the heart of the city, it provides easy access to various attractions, yet it remains a peaceful retreat.
One of the highlights of my stay was the rooftop area, where, on a clear day, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of Mount Arjuna. The hotel also features a swimming pool, adding to the overall relaxing experience. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, always ready to assist with anything I needed.
Another pleasant surprise was the rooftop café, which offers reasonably priced food and drinks. It’s a perfect spot to unwind while enjoying the view. Cleanliness throughout the hotel was impeccable, which made my stay even more enjoyable.
For the price I paid, my experience at Ascent Hotel & Cafe Malang far exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Malang, whether for business or leisure.

Lovely hotel, great location within Malang and a shop directly beneath which was very helpful. Very kind staff that went out of their way to help us book an excursion to Mount Bromo with a reputable and affordable company. The rooms were brilliant, very comfortable bed, nice hot shower and good air-conditioning. The rooftop pool was gorgeous and the restaurant was amazing, delicious food and lovely intimate atmosphere. Overall wonderful hotel!
