Room very nice with a splendid view from Church. Close to everywhere in Kota Tua Semarang, just 1 minutes walk to Spiegel Restaurant. And not too far from Tawang Station. Friendly staff, good attitude of the security completed my stay beautifully.

I lovee my stay here. The location is ideal for exploring the area, and the interior is super cute, modern, and lovely — a perfect blend of comfort and convenience. It’s especially perfect for a holiday, as it sits right in the heart of Kota Lama Semarang.

Grilled chicken toasty (and a warm shower + amenities) for 125 K IDR.
Shoutout to Kotta Hotel for offering a service which has yet to become common (AFAIK) in Indonesia — namely that of offering a relatively affordable option to shower and freshen up after taking an overnighter or red eye train. Located just 9 mins walk away from Tawang Station smack dab in the town center, it is quite a scenic and refreshing way to start your day in Semarang after sleeping on the overnight train.
The breakfast buffet itself is quite modest in terms of variety, but everything is well executed — it is definitely better than most breakfast buffets you can find in Indonesia, even those seemingly swankier joints. What does stand out is how good the free flow grilled chicken and fresh al dente baked beans on offer is — definitely above par for breakfast buffets and clearly a delight to those who like to load up on low carb options.
As for the sandwich itself, the poached eggs are just amazing in terms of texture and doneness. Just look at how fluffy those whites are!

It’s a beautiful thematic hotel, simple but fulfilled all the essentials. I love the location; exactly at the heart of the old town, surrounded by beautiful classic Dutch buildings and the color of the room, it’s so uplifting.

Perfect 10 💐That was my evaluation for Kotta Hotel, in the middle of Semarang historical 'old town' 💯 The rooms are compact, typical Japanese hotel style rooms. The staff are friendly and helpful 😸 love the buffet breakfast, too 💯
We walk everywhere, visited several nice cafes, the best one of course is Spiegel. Well, the prices were quite high, but I think it is quite ok, for the opportunity to sit in the historical building 🏫

Great experience! I live the jungle themed Suite Room. The location is very strategic so we can explore Kota Lama until satisfied. The staffs are very helpful. Recommended for family vacations.

When something is called an ‘art hotel’ you should be aware. Mostly is means that there was more attention to architecture than practicality. This is no exception.
We stayed in the Blenduk room, with a view of the church and the square. That was very nice; also that the window could be opened.
But the room itself was cramped and no space for two suitcases. And the bathroom is separated from the bedroom through a glass panel, which is only half covered. So if one was doing its business, the other couldn’t stand up or else he/she’d see the whole show.
We also found the room not to be very clean; several black long hairs from previous visitors were laying about. Location A+, but the rest could be better.

What a lovely hotel! We were truly impressed by the design and the comfort. This was the perfect timing for a lushes king size bed that slept wonderfully. Unfortunately we couldn’t stay no longer than 1 night and had to rush for the train. The breakfast looked nice but due to the hurry we couldn’t really enjoy it. Hopefully we can come back soon!

Nice, spacious room! Be sure to book Blenduk room if you want to see the Blenduk church (and get some nice pictures✨)
My second time staying here, somehow there's a kind of damp smell from the bathroom, but overall nice experience.
Breakfast is more Western style than Indonesian, but all menus are good😋
There're some in-house cafes too, check them out!

Checked in around 1PM and room was ready, very friendly staff. I think this was an old bank reconverted into a.
Room was decent sized, with interesting lay out, with king bed on large platform, TV in front with good selection, clean bathroom with separate loo and shower. The coffee maker was interesting with coffee bags and small water warmer. They also provide a free linen bag with remote control and ameneties at check in, for you to keep.
Breakfast was the highlight, with choice of 5 items a la carte plus a small buffet for breads and soup. I chose the halal chicken eggs benedict on artisan bread which was nice.
I did not note a gym or pool on premise. Location was excellent close to attractions and restaurants.

Great place to stay, the location in the middle Kota Lama Semarang itself which was amazing. The crowd is manageable at night. The whole design in hotel was exceptional, with minimalist design and aesthetic color that really aesthetically pleasing in the eyes. Foods is not a problem for me, and there's ice cream and pudding cafe in the lobby which was fantastic.

Cute branding, excellent location, good service. Basic rooms — spacious enough, toilet space is not entirely private (a portion of the glass wall is still transparent), basic amenities. Decent breakfast.
If you value staying around walking distance range at Kota Lama, this is a good choice. But would I pay that much money to stay here again? Maybe not hehe.

We had just one night here before catching a train to Surabaya but it is a lovely small in a great location. It has a very youthful vibe but we felt welcome & comfortable (in our 60s! ). The staff are lovely & helpful, in reception and in the restaurant. The room we chose was quite small but comfortable & well designed. The hotel is slap-bang in the middle of the old Kota Lama area. We had a view of the Blenduk church. If I was staying more than one night, I’d opt for the larger room. The breakfast offered is very good: you can choose something from the a la carte menu (both Indonesian & Western) plus there is self serve coffee, tea, juice, fruit, cereals, toast & rice porridge. It was all really good. There are restaurants close by. We loved Maishin Isakaya & would have eaten there more than once if we’d been here longer. An early walk to the bustling street market in the Chinatown area (Kauman) is fun.

Very good option for hotel if you want to traveling around Kota Lama Semarang. The room isn’t too big but still enough for 2 person.

I had a very pleasant stay. Love the design so much. The staffs are very friendly. Had a good coffee. The breakfast was good.
