I had a great experience staying at this hotel in one of their deluxe rooms with a private bathroom. The hotel is clean (not sparkling clean, but clean), sheets are clean, Aircon in the rooms, and free tea and coffee and water on the corridor. Free toiletries as well and a small snack for breakfast.
Location is it's top feature I guess: 5 minutes walk to Tawang train station (so very convenient if going to Jakarta or Surabaya) and 5 minutes to the many restaurants and coffee shops in the old town. The rehabilitated Ara is a bit pricey though, this is the reason I guess this hotel also cost more than similar ones throughout Java.
Staff is nice but can hardly speak two words in English, body and sign language demanded.
