If you are looking for small cozy place in the south Mumbai then this is the place. Very cute small hotel but well managed. Their hospitality is something which is a highlight. Beautifully done. Some may find rooms smaller. But it is close to colaba market and Gateway of India which is another advantage.

A great hotel with Mediterranean themes and amazing restaurants/pubs on the property! The only thing is that in the evening you can hear thumping music all over the property!

The hotel is very well known in the Colaba district for its Boutique rooms having a very wide selection of rooms between scandinavian and mediterranean and more. Cleanliness is amazing! Still have to checkout so will update this review soon!

Located at a very good location and we'll maintained and hygienic place. The food is pretty good and tasty. They have good varieties. Also stir fry grill restaurant is located at the ground floor. Had visited it before. In all a decent place to be.

We stayed 3 nights and liked it very much. The staff is very helpful, the breakfast is awesome (I can’t think of anything they don’t offer! ), the room is big and the location is just around the corner of the center’s key places. Highly recommended Location of the hotel is very good — right near the Gateway of India. Would highly recommend. Rooms are neat and tidy although could do we a slight repaint. The staff are very friendly and the restaurant downstairs serving wok food is excellent. very satisfying breakfast. Room service available. I give four star only as the room where we stayed on the second floor is just above the hotel's bar and the music was very loud on Friday and Saturday — so loud that actually it was little bit annoying and disturbing. It finished around 1am at night and after the hotel was quite — but it would be great to look into that issue as not all the guests have patience for that. The hotel recommended, very good base for exploring Mumbai.

Gordon House is a meticulously designed property with all major amenities provided for its guests. Its amazingly well maintained and overall service and food is very nice. With all business areas nearby, its a recommended property to stay at.

We had booked a Mediterranean room on the sec floor. Good room service and good breakfast too.

Very good place to stay in Mumbai. Located at a prime location its in proximity of Taj hotel, gate way of India. Good places to visit around like bade miya, Cafe Leopold.

The Gordon House Hotel ticks all the boxes for comfort, cleanliness and attentive staff. The location is ideal, door staff very helpful and the cafe did us a delightful boxed breakfast for our early departure. They certainly have a winning formula.

Great location in the centre of Colaba. Great shops, good restaurants and sites within walking distance. Our room is adequate but bathroom small.

Basic hotel, but right in the city. Noisy Aircon unit and external stair case out side our room. Food good. Staff good. It's ok for sleeping in for a couple of days.

I have been staying in this hotel for a while. The only reason of a Star is the location, rest follows : — 1. Friday — Sunday, no sleep till 1am due to the club 2. No gym / neither any tie ups but they have mentioned in their room service book (A Hostel has more amenities then this Hotel) 3. Management rule changes according to situation like a day would be where they call and say “MANAGEMENT HAS DECIDED NOT TO SERVE BREAKFAST IN ROOM and the best of it is MANAGEMENT HAS DECIDED, NO GUEST POST 12am but as their club is on till 2am in morning (do you remember those days of Hostel timings, seems like something similar to it) 3. Food quality changes as they don’t have a permenant in house Chef (according to one of the employee, A lady comes to cook Indian breakfast, yes a Lady not a chef). I did report Many such food going bad instances with the management but at a point I knew I was wasting my time 4. I reported lost of my personal belongings and I couldn’t believe that it happened twice and there was only ignorance in return. I felt extremely sad about my loss. 5. Wi-fi speed Aah! I use my personal internet dongle I have a list to go on but I summarise it by saying that not their fault its a human behaviour of ignorance and such is happening to our service industry.

The worst experience! front desk the worst! I had a reservation for two double beds 6 months in advance… when I arrive I was told that I had a king side bed and a pull over … also he said " dont worry there is no extra charge for the king size bed " … I said no! I end up in a room for old people where I had to take a shower next to a pull up seat for "old people" … the shower didnt work properly … after a rough check in I had to wait for 45 minutes after I notify the front desk that the shower was not working! I had to go to the front desk three times in which I lost my temper because the front desk guy acted like he was a king … and I was bothering him … then next day as I was leaving I was asked to open my bags to see if by mistake has taken 1 towell from the room! all that in less than 24 hrs never again the staff too arrogant breakfast not good — not much variety it deserves not even one start … but I had to add one start otherwise I wouldnt be able to post this review do you really think westerners go to india to still 1 towell?

Quaint little place in a great location. Polite service. For a non-Mumbaikar it's a bit cramped. Food is good, but the breakfast buffet spread is thin.

Nice staff, great location, reasonable size room, amenities could be of better quality — all in all good value for money paid.

Amazing location, good facilities and rooms. Excellent breakfast. Friendly staff. Only downside is the nightclub below and the fact that you can't turn the bathroom fan off. Generally excellent though and a bargain for what it is.

Fantastic location and fantastic location. Well the staff is very helpful as well. This is a boutique hotel and has been styled as such. We were traveling as a large group so managed to catch a glimpse of multiple rooms and I found the rooms quite interesting. Though I must confess, the uniqueness of each room doesn't excite me enough, unless I am starting at a historic place! Breakfast was great. The restaurant is decent in case you are feeling lazy. But as I said the location is fantastic and you will never run out of options if you stay here.

A nightclub straight under the guestrooms. Thats realy so stupid. No sleep for me. Dont book a room in the second floor.

The lowest point of my entire trip and Marathon experience The list is endless.
1. Request for a room away from the discotheque, not done.
2. Check-in process was delayed. They did not have a credit card machine — had to borrow from their restaurant. Total lack of communication between front desk.
3. Request for a late breakfast even if limited not met the next day.
4. Dinner ordered was completely missed! I slept an hour and a half later. For a person running a Ma…rathon both are crucial. I was charged for it anyway and that's ok.
5. They asked for purpose of visit, clearly stated "Mumbai Marathon", not one gesture from this 'boutique' hotel to do anything for it.
6. The front office lady started pestering me at 11:58 for vacation of the room, I was just trying to take an after run shower. I did vacate at 12:15, of course minus the breakfast / lunch.
7. She spoke so rudely, that I could half relate to a junta hotel.
8. The last minute breakfast guy refused to grill tomatoes, as simple as that and made it sound like a favour. Which I refused. The lady at front desk was again very rude about it.
9. Front desk refused to give me a copy of the bill stating I must claim from the voucher issuing company which took ZERO amount, payment was made to the hotel.

Excellent place at amazing location at affordable prices. Staff, services are very good. Its restaurant All Stir Fry is just too good, food is very delicious.

We have stayed in many Mumbai hotels, including the Taj Mahal, but The Gordon House has been, in our experience, by far the best. Not only were the accommodations beautifully clean and comfortable, but the staff members were all so helpful and pleasant that we would never consider staying at any other hotel while in Mumbai.

My worst ever hotel experience. The club beneath our room is extremely loud. The floor and bed shook until 3:00 am. We complained to the manager on site around mid-night and he did nothing but promised to give us some refund in the morning, which turned out to be a tactic to shut us up. Next day morning, the staff at the reception desk changed their line and stated that they were unable to issue any refund. Their answer to our request for speaking to the manger on the phone is simply no – “we can’t give you his phone number. ” After we persisted, some unknown person (not the manager) spoke to us on the phone and offered us a free drop-off to our next destination within Mumbai. Again, they used the same tactic to get us out of their way. When we returned to the hotel in the late afternoon, these shameless people told us that the car was not available and there was NOTHING they can do. For those of you who want to experience an incredible India, I can’t think of a better place than this.
