This place is amazing! Staff was wonderful and made me feel completely at home, space was pristine and full of eclectic touches, and the location could not be beat. You will not regret your stay at Abode and I will certainly be back!

If you like boutique B&B style accommodation then you will love Abode Hotel. UB (missing from photo, sorry UB! ), Nilesh, Hersula and all the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The location is fantastic, they offer a great selection of city tours and a nice breakfast. Make sure you try their marsala omelette and egg burji. We loved our stay here and will return!

Quite an unassuming and innocuous entrance but once one is in through the inconspicuos entry you see a superbly restored boutique property. In the heart of colaba, it's for the arty tourist.

Beautiful boutique resort located in the heart of Mumbai. The staff are super friendly and attentive. The only downside is that the ceilings are low, so a bit of caution for tall guests. In short, excellent value for money given the location and the amenteties provided.

Abode was our very first contact with India and will always remain in our hearts! Nilesh welcomed us in the middle of the night with a warm smile ; we just felt like home. The entire team is very dedicated, arrange your stay in Mumbai if wished. We choosed the basic room, wich was just perfect, clean and quiet. We appreciated a lot the "flower" attention each night on our bed! ;-) Ideal situation in Mumbai and delicious breakfast also make this place the place to stay in Mumbai! Hope to come back soon! I spent one night at this beautiful hotel and. I was really happy to have booked it the room was great, really clean and proper breakfast and staff were absolutely great, then you also have a great location so I wouldn't doubt staying there again.

Lovely location. Cozy rooms. Maybe too cozy for some. But this is Bombay, so space is a luxury. Nice decor, clean bathrooms, decent breakfast. Some rooms don't have a toilet, only shower and a sink. Enquire before booking.

Small luxurious boutique hotel with very personal yet not the slightest pushy service. Great environment, breakfast buffé small but varied and very good. Recommended. They only have about 15 room so book well in advance.

This is simply an amazing place. We stayed here twice and the second time we were immediately recognized and welcomed as friends. Rooms are beautiful, clean and very thoughtfully decorated.

The rooms were on the smaller side but very nicely done. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is very central and can walk too many tourist attractions. Overall I highly recommend stay here.

Nice cozy place to stay good service very nice people. Safe too was there with my daughter for 3 days. The Gate way of India is hop skip and a jump away went there in the morning for a walk got good pictures, the colaba market the Bagdadi Restaurant all very close by.

Hands down, the best thing about our stay in Mumbai was Abode! A wonderful place with an amazing staff, delightful rooms and a friendly, cozy vibe. More like a big B&B than a standard hotel, this place is hip, responsible, clean and safe. A special shout out to Nilesh, who knew our names right away and treated us like friends, and provided much help and advisement when needed. Oh, and the breakfasts were first rate too, with the best coffee we had on our entire trip. Very, super, extremely highly recommended!

We had a fantastic stay at the Abode Bombay everything about it was so amazing like location, ambience, the room. We stayed in the simple room it was just so appropriate for a couple. It had everything for a person to stay and enjoy for even a very long time, as it has all the basic amenities. The whole thing is very interesting and beautifully decorated. They have a very interesting reading area, all decked up with loads of books. not even for a minute you feel like that you are in a hotel, as the staff is so friendly and not to miss Nilesh, he is a very vibrant personality and just more than helpful about everything. The amazing part was the goodnight notes, candies and a little flower garland which we use to receive every night we came back to the hotel. Talking about the location which adds more to the charm of this place. You can enjoy the night food street which is just in front of the abode. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place for solo/couples travellers.

Amazing place, but 2 floor is a little inconvenient for long people as cowling is too short in places and feels like an attic. But amazing service and hospitality and very courteous staff.

Stayed in this hotel for two weeks, and it’s one the best hotels I have stayed in, everything was commendable, but the best part was the staff, they were always ready to assist and were really hard working and interactive, I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone. Cheers.

This place is great, it has everything you could ever need and is situated in a beautiful building. Breakfast is also a real highlight with a changing selection of Indian options each morning.

In Brief: Good — Location — Very good close to many great sites. Ambiance — quirky heritage. Food — simple, good quality and healthy Service — sincere homely. Facility — good massage service by blind masseuses. Wifi — free but a little slow. Comfort — very good bed. Super quiet. Bad — Upstairs Rooms — Very small with very low ceiling. No toilets in room. Accessibility — very limited. Value — upstairs rooms overpriced. Electrical — the heritage chic makes it almost impossible to charge your gadgets. After 4 days of travelling I was looking for a comfortable place close to the tasks I had in mind the following day. I booked through TA via the linked booking providers. Smooth and quick process. When I arrived I immediately liked the ambience. Unfussy and informal. Heritage Chic but not pretentious. Check-in was quick which was perfect because I needed to sleep badly. After over 10, 000km in 6 flights in 4 days I was exhausted. The room was up a very steep flight of narrow stairs. Then you are in to the world of hobbits. Whosever designed this hotel or refurbished the original very old building must have understood the risks and compromise. The result is that, even for very average height people, you are constantly ducking under the structural beams supporting the low ceiling. Ok they are very well padded but it is quite strange. It wouldn't put me coming here again but I think for anyone taller than 1.

I stay here every time I visit Mumbai. The location is perfect for enjoying Colaba and the staff are excellent at arranging all kinds of tours and travel.

This place is brilliant — so elegant well appointed & comfortable like an exclusive club in the heart of Colaba — Id recommend it to any one: families, business, solo travellers, couples… the staff are incredibly charming and helpful — its just gorgeous!

Abode is a hidden gem in the Mumbai hotel scene. Housed in a wonderfully ancient building, this boutique hotel sports delightful rooms, a wonderful common area, some seriously delicious coffee and the friendliest staff ever. Plus, they are socially conscious — their airport pickups are by single mothers and a lot of the stuff they use is recycled.

Abode Bombay has been home to me for years now, whenever I’m in Mumbai. It’s a quaint little place hidden within the bustling streets of Colaba. I have genuinely been in love with this luxury boutique hotel ever since I first stayed here. A lot of that is because of the staff here, who I have come to know over the years. They are tremendously helpful and extremely generous and accommodating. The hotel itself is very conveniently located and as a plus, a few steps away from the sea. The service is top-notch and the food is sumptuous and inviting. The rooms are cozy and very homely. The common restrooms are very clean and well-kept. Interestingly, I have never stayed in any other hotel in Mumbai but Abode, which should be a testimony of just how brilliant Abode actually is. Abode is an experience which is absolutely unique and unequivocally blissful, and I highly recommend it to everyone.

This was my first visit to India, and definitely not my last! When I returned to Abode at the end of my day exploring I felt as though I was coming home. There is nothing cookie-cutter about this place. It has a unique appeal to it that makes it both luxurious and cozy at the same time. The free standing bathtub in the Luxury room is a big plus adding to the relaxed atmosphere and decor. There is a free breakfast spread (try the local Bhurji scrambled eggs! ) that is served until 11 AM making it easy to have a leisurely start to the day, which helps because the beds are so comfortable you will want to linger in them after waking. There is something special about Abode Bombay — the staff feel like extended family, and the communal tables and quaint library make it easy to meet other travelers. This hotel is a gem. There's no place like Abode :)

Great first stop in India. This place has a real authentic Indian charm, with everything you could possibly want from a hotel. It's a long way from the airport, but it's right where you want to be as a tourist in Mumbai, seconds from the gateway and a short walk from plenty more sights and a trendy neighbourhood. The staff are what really make it special though, the consierge is so helpful and make you feel very much at home.

I spent an entire week at Abode Bombay, and it was a delight from start to finish. The hotel staff was unfailingly friendly and accommodating. The breakfasts each morning were plentiful and excitingly diverse in offerings. The rooms were clean, handsome, and were very insulated from bustling south Mumbai outside. Their library of travel books is the best I've ever seen. Right below is a cafe/bakery with macarons. It's a three-minute walk to the Gateway of India and a five-minute walk to some of the best museums in the city. I will definitely want to stay here next time.

Amazing experience. Staff super friendly and helpful, rooms minimalistic but beautiful and clean. Breakfast super yummy. If I had to criticize one thing it would be that the water in the rooms is warm, but that's hard to avoid in India. Can 10000% recommend. They also support charities and have blind masseuses, female drivers etc.

We stayed just for one night in a luxe room. The location is great and we really liked our spacious room which was decorated in a stylish, vintage-Indian style. Complimentary breakfast was yummy too (my husband had a masala omlette and there were a few Indian dishes as well as toast and cereal). They support a local women's taxi company so used them both ways to and from the aiport. The only warning would be that our room which faced the street is super noisy, despite the earplugs the hotel kindly provided us. But for some it may add to the crazy Mumbai atmosphere.

I spent a romantic week-end at Abode and absolutely loved it! It's located right in the heart of Colaba, within walking distance of Gateway of India. The furniture, the vintage tiles, the elegant tubs create a unique feel and the staff makes you feel perfectly at home. The design is amazing and doesn't compare to anything else I've seen in Mumbai. I spent my days wandering the streets of Colaba and their gorgeous old buildings and exploring the delicious restaurants recommended by the owner, but my favourite part was still hanging around the lobby with an espresso and a good book. Also, I don't think I've ever slept in a more comfortable bed. Definitely my favourite address in Mumbai.
