Really amazing jams. I highly recommend buying them. The management was really nice. Though it was hard to get service from the staff. The breads were a little dry.

Checked in on Thursday 14th & stayed till saturday 16th 12 noon. L' Scale is actually run by staff who care nothing for guests. Breakfast was a apology. Nothing is available even breakfast the only meal offered was delayed. The room given to me had no windows, sorry there was a window high up. Morning I was woken up with loud chatting of women from next door. Check out was anothet story. At sharp 12 PM I came out of the room & I was presented with bill which was 4000 thousand & change. The surprise I got was the staff attending the check_out asked me foe cash. They do not take credit card of any kind. It was hot outside I had to trek all the way to state bank ATM to withdtaw money. My holiday was really a fiasco generally. I also made a request the day I checked in for extention of checkout till 7 PM evening. Ofcourse I was willing to pay an half day tariff with tax. They refused so I had to book another guest house nearby till 7PM. So I would not recommend single ladies to stay here, since the staff dont seem to be courteous.

Near to the rock beach not only that center of serinty and paradise beaches. Rooms are clean. Prices are little bit high but u can ask discount. Breakfast is good here. They will give you info like where you can get bikes and visiting places etc. Balconies are small and no beach view (from the Terrence you can see small part of the beach). Finally rooms are ok.

Guest House rather friendly and value for money satisfactory. Breakfast was very good and friendly and attentive. For arrival at the airport of Chennai or return, prefer the taxi service of the Guest house much cheaper than the others and service secure.

The room was neatly maintained and spacious. Price was really competitive and very next to beach.

Good hotel, lovely and accommodating host. Neatly managed and situated on the road parallel to rock beach. Breakfast limited to continental cuisine but that was also good.

It's a good place for a quick breakfast as other more affluent on food apps will be having long waiting line. Please don't come with a assumption to enjoy french breakfast though which might make your expectations go down. A simple egg and bread breakfast of different kind, pancakes and homemade honey or jam which actually are not made into pancakes. But taste wise it's good. It's a simple English breakfast with coffee or hot chocolate or juice.

Stayed for 3 days at L'escale in October 2017. It was a mixed bag experience for us. It was a costly stay in comparison to the facilities provided. Hotel proprietor is an UK citizen & deals mainly with foreign guest even then they don't accept cards only cash is accepted. Breakfast included in the tariff but breakfast menu needs a lot of improvement. Staff are Indian & are quite helpful. Hotel ambience is quiet, peaceful and is near the beach.

Small but cute rooms, clean bathrooms water is good. Hotel has less rooms so gets full very soon. Owner Nickoles is very helpful u can find him on the reception. Draw back is there is no room service and less aminities. But a good hotel in white town next to the beach…

Homely colourful room, no TV. Breakfast is bread jam and butter. They have these amazing homemade jams. They have a nice terrace with sea view where you can relax and have a drink. Rooms don’t have sea view.

Nice affordable stay, we stayed for 4 days with breakfast included. But it will only be breads and jams with tea or coffee. Anything else is chargeable. Rooms are nice, ours was with small balcony. No TV and no room service. Beache and markets are really close so it serves the purpose. The locality is really quiet and clean. You can see the sea from rooftop. Overall peacefull stay.

This place is near by to rock beach. It's had amazing breakfast and variety of home made jam. If you want to have a lazy break fast you can definitely lay down in terrace with view of beach and saviour different types of bread, home made mossouli and home made jam.

Location is great but you only get a basic room, no TV and Wi-Fi is just pathetic. Bathrooms don't have doors, just a curtain and have slit windows that is sure to be of concern to anyone taking shower as it overlooks the neighbour stairs!

Love the place. Have been here so many times since 2009. Decent view of the beach from the rooftop. Breakfast that'll fill you up before you can finish what is served is what you shouldn't miss here. Lots of privacy guaranteed. Clean rooms, bathrooms and sheets too. The staff is very very courteous. The Gandhi Beach is hardly 2 minutes from here. Something about the place that keep making you come back here. 99 % of the times I was in Pondicherry I stayed here.

The place is just 2 minutes away from the Promenade. The room looked exactly like the pictures posted on their site. Nick and Patricia were very welcoming. Although the check-in was at 11 am, they allowed us to use the room right after we reached in the morning. And don't miss out the view from the terrace, which is spectacular!

Guest house pleasant well located in Pondicherry for all travel on foot.
