It’s clean and cozy with a GREAT breakfast.
The staff all around is superb, very professional and always friendly with a smile.

Stayed in last year and had a great time, highly recommend.

OMG I just discovered that not only is Capsis Astoria in Heraklion environmentally friendly with a biodegradable shower gel dispenser instead of individual bottles of shampoo and conditioner and 100% recycled toilet paper, BUT the staff also feed stray dogs and allows them to sleep in their restaurant area until they close. I am in love with this place on so many levels I can’t even tell you. Doesn’t hurt that they have a rooftop pool as well. I mean come on.

Great location for the port but rooms are small and the place needs to be refurbished (especially the pool decking).

Very friendly hotel in the city centre, next to the archeological museum and close to many shops, restaurants and bars. Great views from the rooftop bar and pool.

Came with a group and no one from the hotel came out to help with the luggage. Plus I went to the third floor to my room and the hotel was doing construction on that floor. Dust and construction materials all over the 3rd floor. Mattress, wood and other things all over. The dust even carried down to the floor where dinner was being served. Disappointing!

Great place recommend parking service makes life easier.

Good situation: in the city center, 15 min by bus from the airport (it costs 1, 20 euro), bus stop at the front of the hotel door. The breakfast is good: you could chose different type of breakfast at the buffet. The room was a bit small, like in a ibis hotel. The pool on the roof was nice to spend the afternoon. Very easy to find a restaurant as the hotel Is at the beginning of the old city.

Great service Great food Great location Amazing place for business meetings I came with a team of 15 people organized by my travel agent George Stefanis Activity Tours and I am so happy for everything. People are so nice at the hotel. The coffee shop they have is in an alleyway where you can sit for hours watching tourists pass by while you drink a frappé. The roof top with the pool is incredible.

Great hotel in the centre of Héraklion, very helpful staff. Rooms are not very large but not even small, they are air-conditioned and also a smartphone that you can use for free to surf the net, both at the hotel and when you are out. The beds, in my opinion, are comfortable. Overall cleaning is decent/good. Breakfast more closely reflects customer tastes, so it's more oriental.

Lovely hotel at a great location. Very pleasant and helpful staff. The breakfast was unbelievable, I can't imagine there was anything more they could have added to the awesome buffet.

Very good accomodation. It is not expensive and the comfort is 4 stars. The food is nice and the place is very close to the old town. I recommend it and for sure I will come back again in the future. They offer you also a phone to use it for you entire trip. Nice idea. Cheers and try it without fear.

Mixed experience in this hotel.
The rooms are small, the toilets exude a foul smell and especially the housekeeping of the room leaves really to be desired (if there are…). No view at all from our room which overlooks the inner enclosure that brings together the aerobaths of the air conditioning. Premium!
Otherwise the placement is good, the breakfast is OK and the rooftop pool is a plus (accessible for outside guests for €5…)
Very frankly do not expect benefits superior to a French 2star (and again for the cleanliness part one wonders…)
I do not recommend this hotel and yet we made several in Crete and even the cheapest was better.

Very helpful and welcoming staff. Helped us carry our bags to our room. Cleaning staff said good morning to us every morning on our way to breakfast. Room was clean and spacious. No kettle in rooms for tea or hot water but free hot water can be obtained from the cafe. The buffet breakfast in the morning has a lot of variety and good quality food. Bread, eggs, meat, cheese, fresh fruit, cereal, yogurt with a variety of toppings, and juice. Coffee and tea is free as well but I believe you can order more fancy drinks for a cost. We were there on a holiday weekend and the Sunday there was less fresh fruit and it was not that good quality. All the other days, the fruit was very fresh and tasted great.

The breakfast is delicious, evrything is fresh! The roof realy nice and had a view on the city. The bad not so comfortable.

We didn't stay there, but we have lunched several times at their restaurant which opens (only) for lunch to the public. Great deals at little price and excellent traditional cuisine, with fresh and cooked products at the moment. Absolutely recommended the moussaka and salads, which for quantity can be enough for two people. You do not pay the covered and the bill also includes a basket of bread and sticks. Nice and fast waiters in service. The tables are all outdoors and they give you on a downtown street near nice little shops for tourists.

Nice workshop, nice people, nice city.

A good place to stay on the whole. Buffet breakfast was great. There was a very good mix of traditional Cretan food and continental. The room wasn't cleaned very well in general, although when I spoke to the staff they did a much better job than usual. The mattress in my room wasn't comfortable. Also during the summer months avoid the rooms on the top floor. Parties held every night until very late didn't let me get much rest.

The hotel is basic but they are all very nice…

We just stayed for one night because we had to catch the ferry the next day. For this it was excellent as we had to walk like only 15 minutes. The room was very comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful. The pool on top was very welcome and the breakfast was also tasty.

Good centrally based hotel with restaurants, shops and pharmacies close by. Room and breakfast ok for the price paid. Staff were really nice and helpful. Rooftop pool and decked area ok, bar staff again really great. Would return again if in Heraklion.

Location is perfect, staff are amazing and helpful, breakfast is really tasty and good. I would suggest this hotel for how is looking for great location for reasonable price.

Friendly and helpful staff, very convenient location, comfortable room, tasty breakfast and a rooftop swimming pool to cool dawn and relax. Would definitely recommend it.

Great Restaurant! Food quality and great! I recommend…

Unfriendly manager. We had a serious problem with a reservation and we had to pay double because they had a double reservation with the same name, at the same date; everything completely identic and nobody told us anything at our arrival. The result: paying one more night. The truth: it wasn't our mistake. Very bad manners from the manager and a disappointing ending for a 4 stars hotel. The hotel itself is ok though the swimming pool is ridiculous.

Excellent service in the heart Heraklion. The room is delightful, recently renovated however there are a few areas that could use a bit of work. My room had a gorgeous view of the main square and the breakfast buffet was fantastic.

Commitment to overcoming architectural barriers.

The hotel is older. Downtown area but is close to restaurants. Bus stops. Hop on and off bus. The pool and restaurant on the rooftop is amazing. 360 degree view of the city. The breakfast buffet is awesome. Many items to choose from. The only negative is our room was small. The shower very tiny and did leak on the floor. Other than that. Great place to stay.

+ perfect location, everything you need is nearby. + amazing staff. + great rooms for 3-4 people. + great view from the front and rear balconies. + large selection of food in the morning. — mild dust under the beds etc. — not all rooms have balconies and if you are not lucky enough to have one the rooms might seem small.

They were polite on reception. They parked my car for me for a charge overnight parking. Super central location near to major shops like zara!. Plenty of local restaurants and cafes nearby. Which was handy because the hotel was undergoing major renovations. Room nice and clean. Windows open for fresh air. Very comfortable bed. Nice choice at breakfast. On the doorstep of the major museum also!. Reception helped send me my phone chargers by courier which I left in my room. They arrived at my resort in crete a few days later. Had to chase up the couriers though!. All in all a. Pleasant overnight stay.

Right down town, easy walking to food and night life. Valet parking ($9/day) is well worth the money and aggravation believe me.
