Nice service, small but tidy and clean rooms. Unfortunately, there is insufficient parking in front of the hotel.

Fantastisch Location! Very cute room. The window doesn’t open all the way though so it gets a bit hot. We closed the curtain during the day to keep the room cool. Wi-Fi didn’t make it to the 4th floor. Breakfast included but espresso machine kaputt. Despite this, I would highly recommend. We loved this area! It’s vibrant. Many shops, cafes and coffee shops all around.

Is a family hotel. Very friendly staff, the rooms are clean and the location is just top.

A very basic hotel. Our room was without window, just a skylight… somehow the whole youth hostel character. The breakfast buffet was very manageable… The staff are friendly. The hotel bar is well equipped, we have the evening to finish there. That's all we can say.

Naja wenn Mann schnell nen Hotel sucht und nen kleines Buget hat kann Mann das machen Mann muss aber wissen die Zimmer sind Klein was noch ok wäre nicht wirklich sauber, (habe rote Flecken auf dem Kopfkissen gefunden, Hygiene Mülleimer im Bad war nicht leer, Haare vom den Gesten davor im Bett. ) Und wenn Mann nicht zu Fuß ist Zimmer sind auch im 4 stock alt Bau macht auch angetrunken kein Spaß. Aber das Frühstück ist gut frische Brötchen Wärme Eier usw.

Bathroom pretty and clean. Rooms unfashionable but adequately clean. Wishes at the buffet remain unconsidered. For the price you should not expect a palace. And no excessive service.

The hotel has an excellent location on the shoulder blade, from here you can explore Hamburg perfectly. In front of the door is a large intersection with a corresponding acoustic background, which has not disturbed us any further. The staff is very nice. The rooms are very small but clean and offer all the comforts you need for a short trip to Hamburg. The price of the Altan is very reasonable, especially in comparison to neighbouring hotels.
I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are planning a trip to Hamburg.

Rooney small but fine service is good.

Kept simple. Top location everything is quickly reachable. Cleanliness of the rooms would have to be more strictly controlled. For a short trip without high demands in order
And for 4, 20€ the breakfast is perfectly appropriate.

Everything kept a little small, but clean and nice staff. The breakfast buffet could be much larger. So recommended for a short trip.

Great value hotel/location Five minutes from the district of St. Pauli.

Good deal for the price. Excellent location.

We hoped that, given the price, we'd be treated with respect but the staff seemed totally disinterested in our welfare, didn't clean our room overnight, and at the end of the trip decided to add on a ridiculous amount of money with zero explanation. The owner, who up until that point seemed to have very little trouble communicating with us, suddenly didn't speak or understand a word of English. We finally got our passports back after handing over way more cash than was previously agreed. Don't bother.

Couldn't find our booking on arrival. Made us call bookings dot com at our expense then all of a sudden when bookings spoke to them, the rooms were found. Extremely aggressive little man behind the counter who was rude to us from start to finish.
Tried to extort extra money from us on checkout / refused to give us passport back until police arrived to help us, which they did.
I will mention when we tried to get our passports back (before police arrived to help us) the female behind the counter pulled a knife on one of the party.
We have contacted Bookings dot com to send official complaint and to review the hotels membership with them.

Never before have I been so appalled by a 'hotel'. The owner has a disgusting and if honest, satanic way about him. Utter lack of morals and understanding of how to treat human beings let alone guests paying money at a hotel. A member of our party was threatened with a sharp and large knife by a member of the staff at reception when purely asking for a passport that was being wrongfully held against our will. Police were called, which was for the best, as as soon as they arr…ived and spoke to us with a level of decency they concluded that our room that was apparently 'broken ' had no problems whatsoever. The police then informed the crazed and possessed owner to immediately give us our passport back and asked them not to waste police time again. If you are looking for a check out procedure that lasts for 1.5 hours, costs twice the amount of money you are supposed to be charged and to be threatened with a knife by a demonic team of staff that would be more suitable to a prison, then yes please do book away and send a postcard. I won't wish I was there though.

My sister has done reservation she has to cancel a week before (yesim Durmus) they have been very rude when they realise cash is not coming friendly behavour changed to be an ass. Another people and hotel slave of money as usual.

To Stay O. K. Not beautiful but clean. We have a very favorable price, therefore we are fully satisfied.

For the price we just had a rip-off, dirty beds, tiny room in some you can't even grade the hotel is more reminiscent of a bad hostel only positive about the hostel is that there Breakfast.

Tiny, dirty rooms, everything very ungepfegt. Unreasonable. Much too expensive for the performance.

Oh God, never again, is the first one I think of when I remember back. But we want to remain fair and pro's and con's of each: ///PRO: — nice staff — Breakfast is ok — very Central ////CONS: — superkleines room (zumind. If I were in the attic think) Wi — Fi is there but not usable — ATTENTION 24 hours a construction site right next to it — so nothing to Sleep unless you are in an absolute being intoxicated and you get anyway with nothing more — in the toilets, it smells like feces — the Badlüftung helps, there is only limited further — in a room in a shared house it will be at warm temperature really hot (always in advance where you tuck wants — no Elevator and that Teppenhaus is very tight, really bad if you have something larger suitcases. All in all never, never again if it to Hamburg.

It is the last Flophouse! Not a RECOMMENDATION! The rooms are small, dirty, the Mobillar is partially Broken, as well as the fixtures and fittings. The Nights will be in advance, collected and then there is no money back if something changes. You will only get ripped off, and around the nose, led by a "Trainee" of the number of boss is not, if you complain like Absolute crap — I can only advise to book there. The photos in the Internet show beautiful rooms but on-site the guest rooms look more like run-down Stundezimmer. Have pictures as proof.
