Four stars because we felt very comfortable here, although this is really a very simple guesthouse in a very old house. That is what the situation is TOPP for. We had come for an opera visit and this is just 5 minutes around the next street corner. In 5 minutes you are at the Binnenalster/Jungfrrnstieg. In the street itself lots of great restaurants and right next door a wonderful bakery where we had princely breakfast.
We would be greeted kindly at the reception and will certainly stay here again on the next visit to the opera.

I cancelled a booking after staff on the phone became very quickly and in broken German unheld when I held out the prospect that my flight, and therefore my arrival, might be delayed.

Very reasonable prices and excellent location near city center.

Scam hotel! Please do not book here if you value your time, money and trip. The reception is only open 2-8 pm. If you arrive after 8 pm (even 8:05pm), you will be denied any accommodations, charged 99-300 euros and asked to leave. There are no exceptions (including delayed trains and no access to a phone to call which was my situation). There is graffiti on the outside, trash on the inside, and a very unprofessional and inconsiderate human being as the property manager. Run away friends.

The hotel requires a valid credit card even though I pointed out that the payment of the stay will be in cash?

Price performance is actually true. No breakfast but at the door you get something.

For the very cheap price a large and clean room. Ideal for families with children. Had the book really concerns and were very pleasantly surprised. The Breakfast was plentiful and nothing was missing. In the bathroom, unfortunately, were mold stains but clean. We will come back!

I was together with a friend from 25.11.2011 to 28.11.2011 in this Hotel-Garni! Both, we come from the hospitality/Hotel! I the Hotel can really not recommend, so I can only write that the wife of the operator is very nice, but he is impudent and unqualified, something I have never seen before! The rooms are big, shower is defective, you are in the water but can not say because of the operator's impossible to behave! The doors do not close properly, you have to finish! The furniture has certainly 40 or 50 years old! There are no towels for the 2. And 3. Day! 3 days 285, — 2 Pax, then something must be more to come! Breakfast more than moderately! The only Good thing is it is right in the center and can Hamburg really good enjoy! As written, for the price there are much better Hotels in Hamburg.

Despite reservations being made 5 weeks in advance, this hotel did not honour our reservations and did not have any rooms and did not help in finding other accomodation. We find this totally unprofessional.

The Hotel is clean, the that is very friendly and accommodating. The room was verhälnissmässig big. Despite a city festival (Alstervergügen) we have very good sleep, as the Hotel is in a quiet pedestrian street but still very centrally located. A 2-star Hotel, which is actually a third star vedienen would. In the near surroundings there are enough Restaurants to be varied to cater for.
