Great staff and amenities. I definitely recommend staying within the Meininger brand hotels if there is one in your destination city and you're traveling with a group of people. Super easy to book and great prices for all that's included!

Booked a room there during multiple congresses. Its not far away from the congress centre and easily accessible by public transportation. The staff is very friendly and the accomodations are comfortable and clean. Plus they offer good prices. Very recommendable if you are traveling or just visiting the congress centre.

Hotel is near a train station, which makes it easy to access the city center. The rooms (dormitory of 6 in my case) are quite large, 2 of the beds are separated from the others by wall which is great. The shower and the toilets are in 2 separated rooms (in the bedroom) wich is great when you are sharing a room. The breakfast is a good buffet, the free access kitchen is well equipped and you can even store your own food in the fridge. Everywhere is clean.

The meininger hostel in Hamburg is a superb hostel that I would highly recommend. I booked a stay initially for only 2 nights, however due to a flight cancellation, they were very accommodating and allowed us to stay in the same room a third night at a discounted rate which we were very appreciative of. Communication with the hostel before the trip was also helpful and the responses were swift and efficient. The facilities were excellent, particularly the 24 hour bar which was always well stocked. I cannot daily this hotel in any way. Keep up the great work!

I booked a bed in the dormitory and it was definitely worth the money. Compared to other hostels I have been to, this one offers much. Unfortunately the single rooms are always fully booked and for a spontaneous Traveller like me, I didn't get a chance to stay in them. I'm sure the experience would have been great. Also a very central place and within walking distance to Hamburg Altona Station.

As a family with 6 person had a 6 bed room. Modern, clean and very large. We had everything you need. Have previously been to Meininger Berlin and Frankfurt Airport. Can only recommend this hotel group.

More of an upscale youth hostel. Price is not justified. Zimmer was clean. Location is very central.

Overall very satisfied. The room for the three of us was nice large and also very clean. However, the mattresses in our room are not optimal for slightly heavier people. The lighting in the bathroom could also be a bit more vigorous.

Super friendly staff. Large rooms, we had a 4 bed room as a family.
Furnishing is fit for purpose and good. Breakfast was okay and priced appropriate.
The only point would be the cleanliness of the floor in the room. This magically attracts the dirt and would have to be wiped more often;-).

This was the fourth time we stayed at this hotel in Hamburg, the main reason is that we are visiting my mum who lives nearby, but her flat is not big enough for all of us to stay. First of all I have to say I would not be coming back to the hotel if I would not like it, it’s young and trendy and at first glance seems a good place to stay as a family. Unfortunately some of the rooms are rather small for a family of four and luggage, especially the newly renovated room we stayed in this time was a bit pushed for space (other rooms we stayed in in the past are quite big, so it seems to be a bit hit and miss) this room had a very small luggage area which was probably ok for a short stay, but not a family of four for five nights. I know the room we stayed in was one of the newly renovated rooms and a positive improvement to the old rooms was that we now had a proper shower and not one with a fixed shower head and push button that made it virtually impossible to give young children a shower. Questionable is the position of the main light switch on the double bed — at pillow height in the middle of the bed — we must have switched the main light on five times or more in the middle of the night with our pillows… But my main concern is the design of the new bunk beds — the focus seems to be on how everything looks and not on how safe it is to use.

As far as hostels go, this was in the upper tier of quality. Clean rooms, nice decor and good facilities (lockers, charge ports, bar etc). Didn't really try the breakfast so can't comment on that.

The stay at the hotel was very pleasant. The room was quite large, pretty and above all expediently furnished. I was completely satisfied, only minor drawback, therefore a point deduction: The breakfast room should be split slightly differently when groups are at breakfast it is a bit noisy and restless.

Modern hotel, the concept with the guest kitchen is very pleasing to us. One of the few hotels with large enough family rooms. Only the beds are a bit too soft for our taste. The breakfast buffet offers plenty of choice and the free Wi-Fi also works well.

Very good value for the price. Breakfast OK! Unfortunately only a lift, which is accordingly overloaded. Young audience, at night it could be a bit louder in some places.

Even when we entered the street and opened our window, no street noise disturbed us. Relaxation. There was some construction — or renovation work in the hotel. Didn't bother us, but I can imagine that it will be even nicer when we're done. There is a common kitchen and laundry. We didn't use it either, so we can't say anything about it, but if you needed it, it was there.

We chose the Meininger Hotel to stay for two nights in Hamburg for a reasonable price to see the sights there.
The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was great.
The guest kitchen offered the opportunity to store purchased food in a refrigerator.
All in all it was a nice stay for the small purse.

Inexpensive and a great place to stay. The only problem we had was not being given towels even though the website specified that we would. This was quickly resolved when we spoke the manager.

Practical and strategically close to the station, shops, restaurants, shopping centre.

The hotel is centrally located and has everything you need. Very good I find that the bar 24h and the ATM ATM. The rooms are a bit small for my liking. Why the shuttle has to cost 3, 5 euros for the trip to the airport, I do not understand. 2 people pay about 10, — euro with a taxi and are therefore flexible. So unnecessary. The staff is very friendly and tries to meet all your needs; Well! Security is an important issue. The elevators should only work with the room cards.

The hotel is located in Altona, within walking distance of the train station. The rooms are already bright and generous, the breakfast for the price is perfectly fine. Recommended for groups or families with children, as it has good value for money.

Cheap and very nice hostel. They have excellent service, big rooms and private showers. I can warmly recommend this place.

The staff was very friendly and uncomplicated. We were also able to decide the next day flexible for breakfast. The rooms were clean, the bathroom great. There was lotion, hair dryer and towels provided. The breakfast was absolutely sufficient and of all sufficient. The price-performance ratio is hardly to be topped.

Good hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable. When we went, the guest elevator was damaged and it played using the kitchen.

Excellent condition, clean, friendly staff, breakfast service and kitchen serving quite a bit. You can also get accomodation from €11. The only negative thing is that it is not in the center.

Good location, clean, room was well maintained. Pillows and bottom bedsheets could be of better quality, but in a budget hotel one can't complain too much about such things. There is a small guest kitchen one the ground floor. The kicker was unfortunately not working during our stay. Lockers for storing luggage are available for a few euros.

Excellent value. Clean and well equipped. Large room for four people with comfortable beds. We appreciated being able to use the kitchen so we didn't have to eat out all the time. Ample breakfast. Quiet location but only a short walk from the station and supermarket.

Very good price and service. Comfortable beds and room. They have 1 good bathroom per up to 6 people. They also have a nice guest kitchen. Everything is very well organized and the staff is kind.

Good hotel The room was always very clean and would have been cleaned early in the morning for example, I was in the morning at 7 am breakfast and against 7:45 the room was already clean so top. The staff is young and from my point of view very motivated you will feel right from the very first minute. The breakfast is very good and top fresh and the price of 6, €90 occurrences OK. I would book it again at any time.

Great location for exploring Hamburg. 5 min walk to the underground which goes straight to the airport. Rooms were basic, clean and spacious which is what we were after. Hotel staff were friendly.

The staff is nice, the rooms are very clean and the bathroom is big enough. The breakfast is nothing special, which makes the quality not bad, on the contrary. The price, we were a group and got an extra price, was top notch. Really great that and the opportunity was given. The hotel is centrally located and within walking distance of about 10-15 minutes from the Hamburg – Altona railway station. Gladly again.

We visited the Meininger during our 3-night class trip and stayed for two nights. The breakfast was very good and varied. The rooms were of a reasonable size and the beds and bathrooms were always clean and freshly made.

The staff is very friendly and the rooms clean. In the rooms there are fresh towels, shampoo and hair dryer are also available in the bathroom. There was nothing to complain about and I could definitely recommend the hotel to anyone.

Brilliant hotel with great facilities. Very clean and modern throughout. Has a bar with tvs which shows sports and sells great coffee. Lockers are available if you are too early for check-in. Provides towels, hair dryer and soap and shower gel. Only complaint is the shower lasts about 5 seconds so you have to keep pressing the button.

Really nice hotel! First hotel I've ever been to that has had bunk beds along with regular beds! Very short walk to the public transportation Hamburg-Altona station. Also very nice breakfast as well!

Clean rooms, decent breakfast (for an extra 6.90). Helpful staff. Multi-language. Soap and body wash in bathroom. Added an extra night we enjoyed our stay so much.

Even thou we faced the street and had our window open, we were not bothered by any street noise. Quiet area. There was some construction or renovations going on in the hotel. Didn't bother us but I imagine it will be even nicer when done. There is a common kitchen area and laundry. We didn't use either so can't comment on that but if you needed it, it was there. (I just wonder if it might get hot in the room on a warm sunny summer day with no a/c or fan. )

The service was pretty good, but the room was a bit expensive for the size. The price was understandable, given that the G20 summit is this weekend though. The bathroom was pretty small, but serviceable, except the shower. That was so small I accidentally turned off the water while showing multiple times. The breakfast was quite good. Overall decent, I'd give it a 3.5/5, robbed down to 3 stars.

Great Hotel The shared kitchen is quite spacious and the rooms clean and large! Very friendly staff. The hotel is not far from the Metro. Good value for money.

2016 we spent (2 adults, 3 youths) a week at Meininger hotel in Hamburg-Altona.
Here are a few bullet points:

* quality youth hostel atmosphere with beds, towels and SOAP
* our 6 rooms had television, hairdryer, sofa, small table with stools
* Shower and toilet separated
* full breakfast buffet
* the hotel is visited by school classes.

Everything was good. Except that with €92 for one night's accommodation for two erwrte I at least the General friendliness of the receptionistin, the no mood had or has generäl no manners. Unacceptable you behaved itself no sound left and fully Griem in the face. Am also for years in the hospitality industry and am familiar with hospitality. And that wasn't the case. And for a 4star hotel. Hope will never again if I book something ever with them on it. That was Mrs emilie piech.

Brilliant hostel, close to metro and only a short walk from Reapabarn. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms perfect for a group of guys on a city break.

Hotel is situated near the station. It's important if you travel with a baggage. The room were clean and light. We were offered different variants of accommodation. We were a group so live how we wanted 2-6 persons in the room. As for breakfast we are not great eaters so it was enough for us. And we had dinner in restaurants in 5 min from the hotel. Thank you for your job.

We were there with a pure men's group and the rooms were absolutely in order, as the prices at the bar. Up on the Sleep we didn't spend much time in the Hotel. Only the staff could be more friendly. Of the five who were in the two days since, was only a woman-friendly, the Rest was rather uninterested unsympathetic and absolutely. It was very clean and we were able to before the actual Check-In date.

Very nice hotel with a decent reception, spacious and bright rooms. The buffet is varied, morning and evening. A small downside: the showers do not have a knob.

Price/performance ratio just wasn't right. In the room was nothing except a bed and a laptop to large TV (and 149 Euro per Person and night is not fair). You could darken the room. The cleaning power and it will make a "bed" made of nothing. The wet towels from the morning's showers were just laid on the bed (not even merged), so that the bed linen in the evening, was wet.

Simply the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Absolutely terrible customer service. I missed my checkout at 11. The cleaning ladies started yelling at me, touched my stuff and slammed the door to my room. They wouldn't even give me 10 minutes to pack my stuff. When I notifies the front desk all she said was sorry. She didn't care at all. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Thank you for running my day.

Easy and viable. :) No special tools, but slept well and for longer, it shouldn't be ;) Otherwise, Relatively Clean, decent beds.

Our triple room was satisfactory. Only the sofa bed (faux-leather fold-out) was not very convenient. The entire house is very clean and in very good condition. Our bathroom was modern and also very clean. The cleaning power left much to be desired. The beds were not neatly made and the garbage bag was just in the bucket thrown, without you really catch.

I was in for a night there and am always very satisfied. Clean rooms, competent and friendly staff. Defects are present, usually quickly fixed. Centrally located 5 Min from the train station.

Preciososo place with excellent employees very simpaticos and willing to help regardless of the age of the guest were great with the girls too. Very well located and very comfortable room.

It was my first time booking in Meininger and sure I´ll do again. The distribution of the beds was really good and comfy. Also I was thankful for the shower and the bath inside the room but in separately doors. The bed and the pillow were also good. Love it!

I staied 2 nights in a 6bed room. I would prefer a womens room. But I know it`s difficult.

I was from Monday until today, 5 days there and found it mega the room, Bar etc, The Breakfast, everything was perfect until my colleague for a check Monday to a hair bundle in the pillow had. This is why I recommend it repays, I think there again to book.

For me personally this was the worst stay I have ever in a Hotel had. Starting with a lack of cleanliness in the room and in the bathroom. The cleaning lady who actually, every day our room cleaned, just the beds made. Likewise, it was an indefinable large brown spot on the window frame, skillfully the entire five days will be ignored. The hotel staff was very unfriendly to me, and my entire class over. For me it is also an absurdity, that one of the employees in the middle of the night in our room stormed is coming and says that she would have to check to see if all the people in their own rooms, without the knowledge of our accompanying teacher. I have something better awaits.

My room was not the cleanest and the bed I say literally under my ass broken away. In addition, the mattress with excrement fully lubricated. After the Expansion of particleboard (slats) and the replacement of the dirty mattress, the Hotel employees, the resulting debris not cleared away. The Hotel staff were very unfriendly.

Ich war mit meinen Freunden für eine Nacht im Meininger und die Nacht des Grauens fing schon beim checkin an. Nachdem wir unsere Schlüssel nach einer halben Stunde bekommen hatten mussten wir nochmal gefühlte 10min auf den einzig funktionierenden Fahrstuhl im Haus in den 5. Stock warten. Die Begründung war das der Fahrstuhl sehr langsam wäre und er oft benutzt wird da der andere Fahrstuhl gerade ausser Betrieb stand. Auf ersten Blick, war alles mit unserem Zimmer in Ordnung, dass war bevor wir schlafen gingen. Ich war noch nicht einmal eingeschlafen before ich von irgendwelchen Krabbeltierchen auf meinem Körper begrüsst wurde. Als ich mein Licht anmachte, sah ich das noch mehr Käfer in meinem Kopfkissen eingenistet waren. Nachdem ich mich vom Schreien wieder beruhigt hatte, sagten mein Bruder und meine Freundin das sie keine Käfer sahen und wir schliefen für ein paar Stunden weiter, bis wir am nächsten morgen wieder auscheckten. Das war am Sonntag. Heute, am Mittwoch haben mein Bruder und ich am ganzen Oberkörper kleine Bisse. Ich weiss zwar nicht was für Tierchen sich an uns verzährt haben, aber ich weiss das dies and der Hygiene des Meiningen Hotel Hamburg liegt. Keine schöne Erfahrung!

-The staff is friendly and helpful. — Location is in order BUT: — bunk beds above is not relative, which means, you must do this yourself, as the only inhabitants of a 5-bed room when you sleep -The choice of Breakfast is very low, you should expect nothing special -The rooms are clean, but everywhere is a thick, eye-catching layer of dust -The bunk beds jiggle with each movement, and the mattresses are too soft -The window can only tilt and smelly in the rooms, where the cause is unclear -Parts of a Mehrbettzimmers strongly remind us of a storage room, so you should not have too much space to expect. Especially in this part it will quickly become hot.

If honest review desired: ● Unfortunately, the lack of Hygiene in the rooms. ●Rude staff to Leitwesen of the guests. Not recommended!

We had a five day stay at the Meininger Hotel in Hamburg. In my opinion, this is the Hotel for school groups over the age of 16 years is not appropriate. In addition to the unfriendly staff, we had Dusty fixtures, hair from the predecessor in the bathroom and smelling bedding. For a stay of several days is not suitable! The maximum of one evening in the Reperbahn.

Unfortunately, only on certain days bar. Rooms are very Spartan, but clean.

Nice bright clean room, comfortable beds, Wi-Fi and tv. Friendly people at the reception. Parking cellar for the car, and all around positive atmosphere. I cant imagine us staying anywhere else, the next time we go to Hamburg.

A lot of kids in a hotel. A mess in a kitchen. Also Wi-Fi don't work in some rooms. No air conditioning.

Excellent location for getting downtown or Prenzlauer Berg/Mitte. Clean dorm room, bit small, but decent ensuite shower+WC and fast WLAN. Café area excellent for working and socialising.

Tthe place it's ok. The neighborhood it's kind of dark. The hostel it's a hotel, not a big deal.

Very comfortable Hostel, just 3 minutes walk from Altona station. Everything is great.

This place was very nice and super close to a grocery store and train station. The staff were friendly and they had good drink specials. Breakfast is not included and it is around 7 euros. IT was actually worth it and very good. The price was a bit steep when I went, but you can probably find a good deal if you book ahead. They had everything you would expect from a really nice hostel.
