Kiez Hostel Berlin Hostel

I enjoyed my stay here. Staff were super friendly, regards to the Persian girl! They have very nice lounge room where people can hang out. Rooms were cleans and bathrooms as well. What I loved about it that the bathrooms are really close to the rooms and you can lock yourself in one of those so you can have it just for yourself. Will come again!

Amin was great but upon entering a female member of staff that I assume to be the manager/owner decided to put her hand on my arm, stare at me awkwardly for 10-20 seconds before doing a stearing wheel gesture, and saying car! yes I have a visual disability, no I do not think this is an acceptable way to treat ariving guests, my medical history is no ones business apart from my own and the doctors who treated me, hence doctor patient confidentiality, this was unacepteable behavior that o wouldnt befit a 5yo not alone a grown vile woman,

Hostel Kiez was a Fairly average hostel in my opinion. That is not a bad thing. Staff was friendly, clean bedsheets were provided, and there was a very cramped kitchen. Relatively affordable ~20€ per bed (August 2018). The showers and bathrooms were clean and there was a nice social area with books, a piano, and a common dining room.

Best hostel ever, super well located next to 2 metro stations and 1 train station, 4 stops away from alexanderplatz. Many bars and clubs around. The staff are super friendly and helpful, they let us leave our bags there for 4 days for free. They really care about the experience you get :)

I felt very comfortable here because it is very friendly and familiar. The quiet corner makes it very pleasant to stay here. Nevertheless, you can experience all the diversity in the Friedrichshain — just a few streets away …

Very familiar, very clean, quietly located and yet in the middle of Friedrichshain. The hostel is not rocked by mass tourism, but is permanently brought further on top of the line. The really relaxed hostel team helps where it can and gives tips for leisure activities!

This is the best hostel I've stayed in. The staff, Kathi, Leo, Mina and Imke are all extremely nice and give the place a really great vibe. Kathi even went above and beyond to help us pay a parking fine we received but could not pay because it was in German. The staff always had smiles on their faces and asked how our days were going. The facilities are all very clean with comfy beds, great showers and a nice kitchen and communal area. The other people staying in the hostel were also very social and we often went out to bars and clubs together. It is obvious that the staff put a lot of effort into this place and I will definitely be staying here again when I am in Berlin.

I would definitely recommend this place. The first impression is unbelievable. Wonderful atmosphere of the interior design plus warm and friendly staff very helpful and cheerful. Each room is very unique and the living room and the kitchen make you feel as if you were at home. Great place to do some make up Close to the best techno club Berghain. I will definitely come again! Thank you very much for hospitality and delicious tea.

Cosy not too large hostel with very pleasant owners. Good availability of showers for the number of guests. Bathrooms can be a bit dirty at times. Like other reviewers have mentioned, this hostel also has some longer term guests who tend to consider the dorm as their personal room, so expect some sock smell and blasting music on laptops.

For the small purse and yet right in the middle of the urban jungle.

A family and friendly hostel. No mass tourism, still in the middle of Friedrichshain. A real tip for people who like it like home. By the way, the hostel is very bicycle friendly — bike service on site, safe parking, tips & recommendations from the team.

Our party spent 5 days in the Hostel over New Year and had a fantastic trip. The staff were really friendly and helpful, made us feel at home from the minute we checked in. It’s worth noting that some guests sleep at different times due to Berlin’s 24 hour party culture. If you are a light sleeper, consider booking a room with less people.

Rooms are really cool and clean! They provide great services such as kitchen, laundry, hair dryers in the bathrooms, etc. Super nice staff as well! Would definitely recommend this place and come back!

Very clean hostel, nice setting and great location if you want to go out or travel by metro. Downpoint is that there is a lot of noise and you can hear almost everything…

Great facilities, very close to a train station — but the walk through the industrial park to get to the hostel was a bit unsettling. Nonetheless, very hip part of Berlin, and only 12 minutes to the city centre via the subway! Highly recommended.

Such a cosy little apartment we had all to ourselves. The staff are very friendly. Location is perfect and they have fridges and a kitchen so we were able to save a lot by preparing food during the day and eating out at night. Family run also!

Although perhaps we were unlikely guests with two children, we loved our stay in Kiez hostel. The location is convenient, we were so impressed with the smart design of Farmer's room and the cleanliness and functionality of all common areas. The staff were extremely nice and patient with the kids and we all enjoyed the company of other guests. Would really love to come back some day! :-)

Kiez was great! Very welcoming and comfortable. The girl working there, I want to say her name is Xena (as in Warrior Princess, but I don't think that's right) is an absolute gem. She was so sweet and helpful. Also, she gave me chocolate so she's up there with one of the best people I've met. I didn't love was the location, but it was still a pretty good location. Things they could improve on would be less keys and 24 hour reception. Both things are minor and even without them I would stay again! Thanks :)

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Art Hostel (now Kiez Hostel Berlin). It's very clean, comfortable and cozy and has a nice common room perfect for chilling before or after exploring Friedrichshain. The neighborhood has a lot going on within a short walk or bike ride. What really makes the hostel great is the owner and staff. They're warm and friendly and put up with my inability to speak any German with a smile. I was made to feel at home and invited to hang out. I'll definitely stay there again on my next trip to Berlin. Thanks guys… Mark.

This hostel is very original in the decoration and location. All rooms are decorated following the name (Fantasy room: fantasy movies decorations for ex. ). The staff are really nice and helpful! I had a great time there! Plus: you can play on the piano if you want to!

Absolutely loved this hostel. It's small and intimate and feels like people who run it really love the place. Showers are super-clean, the people who run it, Kathrin and Oli. Are nice to the point where it all feels more like living at their place and not at a hostel — felt incredibly human and sincere. Would highly recommend. Location is also pretty incredible — close to public transport, the legendary Berghain and lots of other clubs/bars, yet the hostel is in a quiet area just off the side. Five stars, mostly for making me feel at home.

Such an amazing stay. The hostel is in a really lively and vibrant neighborhood with easy access via metro to central berlin. The staff were so helpful upon check in and throughout my stay. The showers have awesome water pressure and the beds are very comfy. I would definitely recommend to other backpackers wanting to stay in Berlin. Wish I could've stayed longer.

I loved, I stayed twice, the first single and the second with my mother, with my mom! We love, you have a room just for women, this super equipped bath and the hostel staff is very friendly. I highly recommend it, it is cheap and very quiet, regresaria no doubt.

Loved my stay at the Art Hostel. It was located close to transport and close to some really cool areas in Berlin. The rooms were clean and tidy and had some interesting art pieces in each dorm that added a unique touch. I loved that all rooms were on a ground floor level as I had a lot of luggage to carry around and there were small lockers in each room that could be opened with your room key so you didn't need your own special lock for them. I felt that the common room area was a little cluttered and lacked a bit in atmosphere but I met some awesome people in my room anyway. Our room had its only table and had plenty of space so you could really socialise with others in the room. Only downside was you couldn't pay for the hostel by card-you needed cash or paypal and breakfast was only available on the weekends. Overall though, I had a fantastic stay and would mostly certainly recommend others to stay there as well!

The hostel is very well located in an interesting area close to the east gallery (tha wall paintings) and metro, tram and buses stations. The hostel is cool and corfortable. The only thing that could be an issue is the fact that there is nobody in the reception between 10 pm to 9 am, therefore if you need something (blankets, drinks, etc) or have an emergency it is not possible to contact the reception guys, even more, beacuse we left the hostel before 9 am we could't get our key deposit back which was 40 euro!

Lovely, affordable and with a really nice human feel. Located near the clubs, and near a few interesting eating / shopping districts, Friendly staff, clean rooms, good Wi-Fi, and good pricing. I'm not sure what else you could want in a hostel.

Our time in the Art-Hostel Berlin was incredibly beautiful! The Hostel is with a lot of love, which is reflected in the type of operators and the beautiful rooms! We were warmly received and felt the whole day through very nice. We had the good fortune, in the Farmers Room stay — on bales of Straw! — what an incredibly relaxed atmosphere made our holiday in Berlin top made! Big Thank you to the guys and the girl from the Art Hostel! We wish every guest to have a nice time :)
