Ibis budget Berlin Potsdamer Platz Hotel

The only positives for this hotel is the location and the very helpful receptionist upon arrival. We felt the room was extremely depressing and too basic. The thin pillows were uncomfortable and the rough thin towels were horrible. There was also no shower mat so after we had a shower the floor would end up completely soaked. We also had a half empty toilet roll left for us in the bathroom which was disgusting and unhygienic. Breakfast was all cold items, not one hot item. Although they did offer black tea so we could make an 'English' cuppa, with warm milk though. The ham and bread provided was nice. We would have let this slide but the price we paid certainly did not reflect what we were provided. We felt as if we paid far too much for what this was.

For 1star hotel and the price the place is outstanding! Highly recommend!

Quite good for being a budget hotel. The room minimalist but functional enough, bright and pleasantly colored. Free internet and printing. Fair breakfast, with choice of breads and jams; both sweet and savoury options. Downsides: hairdryer and ironing tools not in the room, need to request them and leave a deposit of 20 euro. Good location, walking distance from Postdamer Platz and Checkpoint Charlie.

Hotel located very close to Potsdamerplats I had a very good value for money. The double room with breakfast included comes out for about 80 euros a night. Breakfast is free buffet with quality products. Very well connected to the metro and the regional train.

Very centrally located, nearby hitchhiker train station. A big plus is the existing air conditioning. In the hot temperatures in May and June a corresponding advantage. What I would like for all Ibis Budget hotels would be a small fridge in the room.
You sleep quite well on the mattresses. However, the mattresses lie only loosely on a wooden board. The things slip away like a herring on the plate.

I went to the room after check-in and the first look was a fat yellow spot on the bed sheet. I don't want to know exactly what my predecessor did now. Whether the beds for the successor can be freshly sourced here, of course, does the question remain?! I had asked at the reception to recsource the bed, which was also done immediately. An uneasy feeling remained anyway during the week. Is my predecessor already on the pillow? Has that been changed? The rest of the week was ok. Reception very nice. What's really good is breakfast. Rich and very tasty. For this reason I had booked the hotel as well because I had only read good about it. Also super centrally located and a Lidl around the corner.

Super Service, beautiful room and a working air conditioner, which is very important at 32 degrees outside.

Great if you don't want to spend so much money on your hotel and even if it doesn't cost very much you get a relatively good room. However, the room may not be completely clean.

Simple hotel and great value for money. Rooms a bit plastic and could do with a refresh (paint).

Not having a separate bathroom was kind of annoying but the Room was clean and otherwise ok.

For the price and location, the Ibis Budget Hotel on Anhalter Street can be recommended. The rooms are a bit bright-hearted, but otherwise the value for money is right. Very nice service.

A great hotel, we loved it as the price and the services offered are great. The location is very central just a few meters away you have train, Metro and buses and 10 minutes from Alexanderplatz. Exactly the hotel is located in the topography of terror and 3 minuets of the check point Charly. The staff is very attentive and helpful and helpful. We hired breakfast for less than 8 euros, had a good assortment of fruit, breads, juices, jams, sausages. We would be delighted to stay at this hotel again. We loved it.

The Ibis is a hotel basically to get tired after a day in Berlin for 12 hours of walking give a shower and lie down, much more you can not ask for the price or if you want to disarm the suitcases only get the necessary as it has 5 hangers nothing more, it is 80 meters from the metro and 10 minutes from the central Berlin Station all of easy movement.

I can easily say that staff is rude and they don't have any sort of careful or helpful attitude. You can't behave like this to your 'guests' just because of this is the budget version of the hotel. It has been only 13 hours since I have checked in, only 20 hour later I will check out and I hope we won't face with any more problems here. Definetely frustrated, my sincere suggestion would be: go with other options in Berlin, I am 100 percent sure you can make better choices than this one.

Very basic but clean and cheap. The essential thing to sleep, like everyone in the chain. It is well located for getting to know the centre of Berlin and being close to the historic sites. However, it is not the liveliest and most beautiful area of the city and at night it is left without any activity.

Hotel is quite nice and staff but also 2 stars because of the rooms. Mold. Broken shower. Open cables in the shower (! ) Maybe just bad luck at the room. Otherwise recommended.

Good value for money. Very central location. Staff mostly friendly.
Rooms are small but adequate. There are too few options to hang towels or clothes.
Negative: Price for the children's breakfast was not included in the Onlineresevierung. We were told in the suburbs. Therefore had to pay more than was in the booking confirmation. Therefore 1 star deduction. Otherwise I would have given 3 stars.

The price was amazing, the breakfast ok, the rooms clean. But they were tiny and they could use some redecoration. I can't complain but I wish it was better.

Clean, functional, inexpensive although sometimes needing to get used to, even the hair dryer must be lent against pawn.

Price — performance absolutely okay! A great location to the sights, Brandenburg Gate, Potsdamer Platz. The Panorama punk at Potsdamer Platz 1 is recommended!

Hotelbien located, you can walk to check Point Charly, Gate Brandenburg, Reistagh, Pistdamer Platz, and a Pico Mas lejis Alexander Place, about 30 Munutos, the Metro is 2 minutes walk.

Price Performance Top. The rooms are functional, but not uncomfortable, and cleanly prepared. The breakfast is an absolute must for the price and the quality. Great location in Berlin.

Clean room cleaned every day. Quiet and satisfying for the price. Also very well located.

In the room it was too stuffy and you could not open the window because the traffic to sleep was much too noisy. Otherwise very pleasant and happy for the price again.

The beds are a grey, as a couple "certain things" are hardly possible as the mattresses and beds constantly slide apart. A bathrobe in front of the shower cubicle would also be great and hooks for the towels. Otherwise convenient, sterile and not a bit of coziness. Enough to sleep.

Just the best bus and metro stops next door.

Good and cheap. Very centrally located. One is in a few minutes at Potsdamer Platz. Rooms simple and functional. Clean. Fr a few nights ideal. Breakfast Good, hot rolls, cold cuts, cereal and good coffee. Parking fee of €17€ is only of no relation to other prices in the hotel.

Basic Hotel at low cost, recommended for those who love to travel and do not want to spend too much!

Super Location, Super Service for small Money.

Came to Berlin to celebrate New Year. Hotel is quiet, clean & comfortable. Good breakfast. Excellent location for travel via Underground.

Great place to stay. 10 minute walk from the German Parliament and 5minutes walk from check point Charlie. Really clean, great staff, free Wi-Fi and parking.

I was pleasantly surprised. For 50 euros you get a perfectly clean and comfortable room that is brilliantly designed to maximise the use of space. Staff were friendly and professional.

Very spartan rooms but that's ok since it is a 1 star hotel. The room was not clean though. Dust on the floor and on the beds. There was also a nail sticking out of the side of the bed. The hotel stuff is very rude. One of the pillows had past his time and needed to be changed since it was kind of a yellow. There was hair on the bed. The bed sheets have never been changed in a week. We had to give 20€ deposit for a hairdryer since there isn't one in the room. Photos on the website are quite different from the reality. I stayed previously in another Ibis Budget (Saarbrücken) and it was a completely different story. Much cleaner and helpful stuff.

Perfect Location with a reasonable price. Very good that the shower is separated from the bathroom.

I'm satisfied. Beds ok. All clean. Friendly staff. There are still smoking rooms. For €7, €50 super breakfast.

Very friendly welcome, location perfect, Near Tempodrome and Potsdamer Platz. Beds convenient, everything clean, beverage case snack machine in the lobby. Usual ibis budget standard, you know what you're getting.

Being a budget hotel, the room is fairly Spartan, but has everything you need. The rooms were clean and well maintained, and the rest of the hotel had all the facilities you would need. Staff were professional, and friendly.

Friendly staff. Rooms are functional, not too large, but few storage facilities due to indirect lighting very cozy! Cleanliness was top. Daily service with fresh towels. Location is great!

Today, checked in and pissed off. On the phone was informed that included deep garage. Now it costs 17€/day extra. Dirty shower and hair next to the bed. The worst… to come out-no.

Good hotel considering the low price. Room is comfy and silent at night. Breakfast is expensive but fills you up for the day.

Excellent location and price. You can walk to the main spots in the city or use the public transport which is quite close. The only thing to mention is that even though the room was clean everything looked kind of old/wore so some renovations would make a difference.

Small but nice rooms. Nice hardwood floors, comfy bed very clean. Close to malls and tourist points of interest like check point charlie. Close to train station and major bus routes. Very friendly helpful staff over all good option for an inexpensive quality hotel!

I don't recommend it, there was not a hair dryer in the room, pretended to an extra payment, the front desk staff, too dry, cold, and even mad to desmpeñarse in reception, it is assumed that in hotels the kindness above all things! I suggest to the management to renew the reception staff (except one who was in a better mood) siesque do not want to close the hotel, I took with me a very bad impression of the hotel, I would not recommend it, you can get for that price a better quality of service at another hotel!

Everything was as described, no bad surprises! :) The hotel is close to the main attractions even by foot. It's perfect for a city break :). Room 327, 2-5.11.2016 :)

If you come for a city trip to Berlin, sleeps here perfect. Centrally located, one has the Potsdamer Platz and the Brandenburg Gate just around the corner.
The staff is very friendly and helpful and super tips for everything on Lager. Das room is clean and comfortable.

The location of the hotel is very good, being just half a block away from the Anhalter S-Bahn station. Or is convenient and easy to move around the hotel. The hotel faces the big lot of the Topography des Terror, a museum with a German view of the SS and Gestapo. There are vending machines and a restaurant at the hotel. I haven't tried the restaurant. There are also plenty of restaurants nearby, making it easy to have dinner on the way in. The room is not big, but very well planned and cozy. It has space for 3 pieces of luggage on the floor near the window and it still gives you space to move around. The bed is very good (I've used the couple's bed) and the room temperature seemed ideal to me. Good shower (not a lot of space, but enough). The staff was helpful when needed. The only thing that bugged me was finding the window open every time the bedroom was cleaned.

For a 2 star Hotel it is really OK, the rooms are functional and are to Stay there, it is not so in Berlin to the room to relax. The cleanliness is also fully in order … as it should be … The Breakfast buffet is also great and rich, coffee flat incl. Free Wi-Fi and air-conditioned rooms … for the price it is really OK. Here what some to tell the staff … is to me inexplicable … if you are rude should you don't much expect more than the bare necessities. I give the staff 5 * … Friendly about it and Helpful! Even the cleaning lady greeted a very friendly. And to other comments to come back … what do you expect from a 2 star Hotel? If you don't like … then goes into the Adlon and pay the appropriate price … Rum Stingy, and 5 stars expect …? Clear recommendation … it will always re-book …! 5 Star Rating.

The staff is rude and not very Helpful. The rooms are practical if they are not for much more than to Sleep. Cleanliness is no better than average. Shower eg switches automatically from Warm to Cold. The location of the hotel is good, walking distance from Checkpoint Charlie in a few minutes, and the distance to the Alexanderplatz is 3-4 Km or 10 minutes by Taxi to reach. Price/performance is borderline, and should not be 10€ per night more expensive.

At first you think to yourself really, this is a Hotel with class. The entrance area looks promising and with their own passwords for the rooms, I found a great idea. HOWEVER: The staff are the harshest people I have in my whole life ever' met am. This is one star is even too much. A small example. They talk friendly with a staff and makes a joke. After that, you will be this Person angeschnautz and pursued, then it comes the following sentence. "Room number is noted! ". It thinks you are really just "Hey, whats wrong? ". Even a complaint to the front Desk improved the mood of the staff do not, you will continue to be for every little thing and scolding, just as we warned. This Hotel is NOT recommended.

Very nice hotel, price-performance is ok.

Loved this hotel. Wifi was fast and easy. Very nice rooms and lighting. Walking distance to many eating places and has much to do within a 15 minute walk. Only down fall of the place was the shower is glass/ see through and is located in the room so if you get a room with 2 beds with a friend they can see you getting in and out of the shower and can watch you. But just dont make it to awkward with the showers and you would love the place.

Well located! Near everything in Berlin! Of course it's a simple hotel, but enough to sleep. You spend all your time around the stunning city, not at the hotel.

It is the ideal location to explore the city centre by train or by foot. The price is for the equipment, okay, the cleanliness in the rooms should be improved.
