In short, Hotel Admiral is a quaint, well situated hotel in Munich. What is unfortunate is that we stayed there during a heat wave (35 degrees) and there is no air conditioning in the entire hotel. The bathroom felt outdated, but was very clean and the water pressure was constant and strong. Some of the furniture in the room gave the effect of coming straight from an average antique shop, with some corners and sides chipped off and scratched. The room we were in was street facing, on the first floor. The noise from the street, as well as cigarette smoke, made the already boiling hot night unbearable. The breakfast the following morning was FANTASTIC! The staff were amazing throughout! The biggest issue I had (the extreme hot weather is not really Hotel Admiral's fault), was with the pricing: You simply can't charge the same rate as the Hilton in Munich park at this hot time of year if you can't offer air conditioned rooms. If the price had been 30-40% less, I think I would have had no complaints.

I spent many hours searching for the perfect room for my family. I booked the Kings Suite for the size and layout. I booked this 6 months prior to coming to Munich. After 16 hours of travel to get to Munich I was informed that my suite was not available. Instead they offered me 2 separate double rooms. My young son will have to sleep by himself in a room several doors away. Not happy with that. The rooms are dated and old looking and not comfortable at all. What a horrible start to my German vacation that I had been looking forward to!

Hotel Admiral is just ok. Pros: Great breakfast, friendly staff, view is of a nice building with good landscaping (I think the Patent Offices) Cons: No air conditioning (although our room had a ceiling fan), Parking is difficult, The rooms are very dated, including a really hefty radio-type thing on the wall that takes up a lot of space. They are currently renovating so I am not sure how it will be in the future.

The hotel is comfortable, cosy and very centrally located. And yet the guest is awakened by Birdsong (garden side). The staff represents the house exemplary by being friendly, accommodating and thinking in an above-average way. Thank you and gladly again, when a trip from Switzerland to Munich is pending.

Rated on percieved value & glad I didn't pay for it. I can see how it appeals to some but it's in need of a refurbishment for the rest. It probably only survives due to the business brought to it from the opposite building…

Stayed in the hotel for one night with family, but had we known about this hotel before would have used it. Would definitely stay here again if the need arrises. If you prefer an ultra-modern 'slick' hotel, this is not it. It is not new but well kept, and the rooms are more comfortable and pleasant than usual. Large rooms (our kids had a gigantic room), comfortable beds and other furniture, together with a good location and extremely helpful and pleasant staff. Highly recommended.

Great quaint place to stay, very close to the heart of downtown. Friendly staff and a great breakfast. Would definitely recommend for a reasonable priced option in the center of Munich.

Nice rooms, breakfast was lacking and somewhat minimal.

Although the furnishings may no longer seem contemporary, I immediately felt comfortable. The single room was really big, with a large desk where you can work great and comfy chair, an armchair, a big TV and and and. Everything clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is really great! Everything there, the fruit is freshly cut, even exotic like passion fruit. And that at the price, a star deduction because of the "over the years furniture" would be grumbling at a high level. On the contrary, were really cozy.

Very nice hotel, could be venue of a Agatha Christie novel film. We had a fabulous breakfast and the staff was very helpful and nice. The help of the staff was particularly important as we travelled with our 1 year old daughter. We are very satisfied.

The small hotel is located in a quiet location close to the city centre. Polite staff, unobtrusive service, fresh plumbing, comfortable bedding, wonderful view from the window. Only the coffee machine in the room was not enough for complete happiness.

Many small things was falling apart in my rum. And at eight pm in the bar they started vacuuming, it smells dusty.

Quaint, lovely, clean and quiet hotel with excellent, friendly staff next to the river and across the street from the Deutches Museum. A great base for walking the city, grabbing an eBike or hopping a train, with excellent Indian and Italian restaurants within a block of the hotel.

Lovely hotel. Excellent staff, they help with everything from postage to arranging tours. Beautiful garden in back to have breakfast. Wonderful European breakfast buffet with cereals, many breads, jams, meats, cheeses, fresh fruits — even passion fruit! Delicious in their muesli. Rooms are comfy, clean and well kept. Super hotel in a great location.

Very quiet and stylish hotel in the center of Munich. Hotel parking is in a public parking house with discount for guests. However parking it's very narrow and limited. Early arrival is mostly recommended. Parking house it's 5 min walk from hotel. Room was without air conditioning. Breakfast and meals are very good. Service is outstanding.

What to say, I am appalled, I booked a room for two people of which I was notified the price by mail to €199 for two nights and on departure I had to pay double because the hotel claims that the price is at night! Once at home (I did not have the PC with me) I check the mail and I verify the accuracy of what I communicate (€199 for two nights) and to my complaint in response the hotel claims that the room assigned me was of another category that cost the double; To me it seems a hoax to cover their mistake in addition to a serious impropriety. And then how do they give the stars in Germany? Everything is small and narrow, from the breakfast room to the reception, to the bar, certainly not enough rooms for all the bedrooms, also is not available the garage and you have to park outside or in the garage for a fee, the television has channels only in German, nobody speaks Italian at the reception (4 star Hotel! ) … and the bidet?

I love this hotel. Let me count the ways. The staff is absolutely stellar. The rooms are spacious. Super old school keys, chocolate on the pillow, bathrobes. It's been a while since I've enjoyed being this pampered. Also it's 4 minutes away from the museum island and smack in the middle of one of the coolest parts of the city. I would go back there in a heartbeat.

Amazing hotel! It has : a very friendly staff, spacious rooms with everything you may want, very comfy room with a great shower, quiet, good free Wi-Fi… The hotel keeps your stuffs before you leave for free!

Very nice, close to the Centre Hotel with very nice staff.
Unfortunately, my room was a bit small (contrary to the beautiful, large double of my fellow ☺), but meticulously clean and decorated.
The breakfast was an absolute class of its own!
I return very happy to once again in this hotel.

A beautiful hotel located in the heart of Munich. Quiet and family-run. The staff is simply awesome! and the breakfast is simply incredible. Fruits from the remotest regions of our planet. I really have never seen anything like it. Next to the enter you feel like at home. A great praise to the head of this House. Someone has never managed a hotel with so much love. Again and again!

A small hotel with the rare combination of elegance and informality. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the hotel has an excellent location, very close to Deutches Museum and at a conveniant walking distance from the Old Town city centre.

What an outstanding experience. A homey quiet feeling, of care and concern for my every need, a few blocks from the action of the city. We needed something in our room and I called and had just hung up the phone when the service man was there with the item! We will stay there again.

Small and fine house. Was already often there and can only recommend it (2007, 2008, 2009, 2011).

OK, quiet and small, but not 4-star worth — tiny bathroom (no room for 2 persons), cobwebs in the bathroom, dust in the room.

What a treasure. The hotel is quiet and furnished in impeccable taste. The staff are very helpful. All are happy to speak English. Its location is terrific: close enough to the attractions one wants to visit, but tucked into a residential neighborhood. Lovely breakfast, lots of delicious selections. We prefer a hotel with the local feel, and this one really meets the mark. There was good internet service in our room and fun restaurants nearby. We loved it.
