Very centrally located hotel, beautifully decorated. All were very nice to us and we even had a free upgrade for a double deluxe. This room was pleasantly large and the bathroom could easily be used by two people at the same time + it had a bathtub and a shower (separated from each other). Everything was very clean and tidy and the breakfast was very tasty.

For years we siblings and our cousins come to Heidelberg in September in the Golden Rose.
We were always very friendly served, our wishes were fulfilled (harder mattress due to herniated disc) and breakfast : unbelievable!
In the meantime, we come often in the year and the Golden Rose is one of them.
The rooms are great and clean.
Now there has probably been a change in management, but so far we could not see any negative change.
Congratulations to all those who work here. Great service, great food and great hotel. Thank you very much!

This hotel on first appearance seems a little tired but grew to really appreciate it after 4 days. Very well located on the edge of old Heidelberg, large clean and very quiet rooms, fabulous breakfasts and helpful staff. So if you can overlook the 1960, s decor this hotel is great.

The hotel is highly recommended. The room was very clean and spacious. The breakfast leaves nothing to be desired and far surpasses many other hotels.

For a city break, this hotel is only recommended in the middle of the old town.

Breakfast was average. During breakfast the attention for the guests was minimal. During breakfast the staff were cleaning the mirrors on the walls while guests were trying to get the attention of the staff for more coffee or glasses for juice. Check in was friendly. Parking a nightmare. Good location for the inner city but leave your car at home.

Perfect. Everything is perfect. Great Room. Will always book in future there.

We were already twice at the hotel Golden Rose, this time for 2 nights. The hotel is located in a side alley at the beginning of the pedestrian zone. From the train station well reachable by tram or by bus and only a few steps away from the stop.
Ideal for a Heidelberg stay, everything is within easy walking distance. We had booked a nice comfort room, this time not to the street, therefore also very quiet location.
Breakfast does not leave any wishes open. The staff is always friendly and helpful. An ideal hotel for a few nice days in Heidelberg.

Everything is good, except for no elevators if you want to carry your luggage, same breakfast all 5 days.

Situated just in the center of the town. Very tasty breakfast! But very small room, little bed, no air conditioning.

Very central in Heidelberg. That's why the rooms are small. Breakfast is good. Price is higher than It could be. It was hot in July. Window opening was an equivalent of conditioner.

We come for years, always just in in the Golden Rose. Everything is just super ok always. The Breakfast is just great! The 5-star level, and I know of what I write! The whole staff is Super Friendly. One is directly at Bus and train in 2 minutes and right in the city centre. You can Park if the Hotel is no more space in the Darmstätterhof is 2 minutes from the Hotel.

I have been to this hotel 4 times since January 2012. The place offers a very good value for the money. Don't book online, don't use any booker, just call them directly you get a much better rate. The hotel is situated at the beginning of the Hauptstrasse, so in no time you will be right in the heart of the old town, near Bismark Platz you get any bus or tram. There are plenty of good restaurants all around (the hotel has no dinner). The hotel breakfast buffet is as good as many of the 4-stars hotel I have been to (visited more than 20 different countries in 2012). Coffee/Tea maker in the room, flat screen TV with good selection of channels (if you care about it, I don't). Only cons: spotty Wi-Fi, in some rooms you get disconnected too easily. Altogether: highly recommended.
