Oro Verde Cuenca

We had a fabulous time at Hotel Oro Verde. The hotel is extremely clean and well appointed.
The dining was excellent and the service was amazing.
We had some drink at the bar and Louis the bartender is amazing. He made his own special version of Baileys, and let me tell you it was way better than the original.
The general manager Byron was fantastic and extremely friendly.
We highly recommend this hotel and please stop by and ask Louis for his drink…L’Andes Cream!

They have a quaint Cafe with an excellent latte and Delicious chocolate croissants and pan dulce with cheese inside. My favorite Cafe in Cuenca.

We have stayed at the Oro Verde twice now. Once, as an exploratory trip and another to look for a home. This hotel is phenomenal. Everyone from the manager to the detail-oriented housekeeping staff members were all helpful, polite, friendly, and gracious. They assist those who are not Spanish-speaking and do anything they can to make you comfortable. We would stay here again and again and would always recommend this beautiful hotel.

I stayed here with family for a destination wedding. The service we received from the staff was amazing. Someone was always available and they were eager to assist me with any needs imaginable. The hotel was immaculately clean and the food was outstanding! I stayed for a week and many of the staff acknowledged me by name, which, made me feel important. I do not speak Spanish but communication was never an issue as nearly all the lobby staff spoke English. The hotel is quite modern and has all of the amenities you could want. The taxi ride to the center of town was only $2.00-$2.50. Overall it was a memorable experience and I left feeling that I had made friends.

Hotel staff is exceptionally helpful and accommodating. Jose Luis the bellman was kind and attentive. If you’re looking to stay in Cuenca this is a great & affordable hotel. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Uber and taxis are a short ride to the downtown area so the hotel is conveniently located.

I have stayed a couple of times at this hotel. I love how luxurious it is. Its lobby is fully remodeled. Best is breakfast and in-room comfort. Since it’s at the very entrance of Cuenca, its proximity to El Cajas national park makes it very cold at night. I never use sweaters inside a room but I had to because it was really cold. They do have some floor warming system that I tried to use but couldn’t go around it and didn’t call the front desk for help, so my bad. I think it’s the most luxurious hotel in Cuenca but it’s the farthest from main attractions (except for El Cajas) and if you’re traveling for business you’re commuting far longer than other hotels to your meetings. I can highlight the service and the free hotel transfer in and out. Definitely recommended it if you’re looking for leisure rather than proximity. Definitely would stay!

My uncle stayed here for a few days and I visited him a couple times. Good rooms, friendly staff. He didn’t speak any Spanish but all the staff still accommodated and helped him. I was very grateful.

The facility was exceptionally clean and well maintained. Staff was well informed and very professional and we were given the best of attention to all our needs. The breakfast bar was by far the most extensive and well equipped. A five star establishment.

My wife and I spent a week here in late May. We loved everything about the hotel. Food at their restaurant was delicious. Breakfast buffet was great. They made sure to switch up the offerings each day. Definitely recommend eating dinner there as well. Very friendly and professional staff. Extremely attentive. Especially, Gustavo! I asked him if he knew where to get a particular local football club shirt. He went out of his way to not only find out where I could buy it but also checked in the next day himself, before coming to work, to make sure they still had it. Good thing, too, because the store had closed. He saved me a trip.
We expect to come back to Manta often and will be sure to stay here again.

We stayed at Hotel Oro Verde for our 40th wedding anniversary, and they could not have made it more special for us! Sabrina, Jose Luis and their Hotel staff were fantastic. The breakfast was delicious! The pool was clean and warm. The room was spacious.

Had a great stay at the Hotel Oro Verde in Cuenca. The room was very spacious, I think it might be the largest hotel room I have ever stayed in. The room and the hotel are clean and the decor is modern. Staff are very warm and welcoming. The breakfast buffet is great, with a large selection of hot and cold foods and beverages. Highly recommend the in-house restaurant (not the deli, but the more formal one). The food is delicious and the presentation is beautiful. Everything was perfect, would definitely stay here again.

All staff is amazing! The breakfast is great, the room is so clean! The front desk staff very friendly, all housekeepers are incredible, when you are walking around them, they always say hi. When I needed a taxi, they requested for me, so I felt safe.

They have not released my deposit and its been OVER A MONTH since I checked out. I have emailed the CFO and the Manager about this matter as nobody else has been able to help me.

This is an update to my review above. This was a complete misunderstanding between me and the rep. Right after I reached out to the executives they immediately responded and said they will look into this matter. It took a few more weeks, however, over a conversation with the CFO, while he was about to refund $200, we noticed that I was charged the correct amount and I was confused with what the initial rep said via text. I thank Bayron Vallejo & Cristian Serrano for their patience with me and explaining everything. I take responsibility for perhaps not fully understanding the situation, which is why I am overturning my first review. I appreciate their attention and excellent customer service. I will certainly recommend this hotel to my friends and family!

I have to say my experience at Oro Verde Cuenca was incredible! the service was absolutely fantastic. Jose Luis in particular was truly so kind and friendly with us. I cannot recommend this Oro Verde enough. Oro Verde is so very lucky to have him!

We really enjoyed our stay. Everyone is so helpful, room is spacious, nice pool and love the breakfast buffet. The hotel is also well located with plenty of good restaurants and easy access to the Tranvia. Taking a taxi to El Centro takes only 5-10 minutes.

We stayed here last year, and when we returned this year, we wanted to see if our experience differed. This is a wonderful hotel, but even more impressive is the customer service team. Our room was beautiful, well appointed, and the breakfast buffet was top notch. Once again, it was the customer service team who made our stay memorable, with special thanks to the front office staff, the spa masseuses, and the concierge. We truly appreciate everything these teams did to make our stay memorable. We were impressed last year at our first stay, and are happy to report that our current experience was equally wonderful.

Very friendly staff, especilly Mr. José Luis. Perfect breakfast. Nice und very clean rooms. We did a journey to Ecuador and Galapagos Islands und this hotel was the.
Best. Also the way to the city center was near and there where good restaurants nearby.
