Hotel Yanuncay

Hotel was clean n the staff service was very good! The hotel is very dated n in need of a total make over! There is free car parking on premises! Breakfast was typically Ecuador!

Beautiful property. Hard working staff. Fast elevator never out of order. You couldn’t tell that pets were allowed because they keep it immaculate. Breakfast: fresh panderia bread daily, eggs cooked your way and the best smooth hottest coffee (I had not been a coffee drinker) and if you want milk for your coffee it’s hot plus other delicious items. Extra pillows and towels, graciously. Bedding and bed, so comfy the only thing that gets you out of bed is knowing breakfast is downstairs waiting. Please don’t miss going to the “sunroom “ on the top floor up the stairs. It’s a spectacular view of the city, I was able to catch a little fireworks display up there. Good Wi-Fi signal. I noticed a router on every floor.

We stayed here on a whim but we’re so glad that we did. My husband and I had booked a room at a different hotel on the same road (let’s call it Casa Poop) who then lost our reservation. The woman at the desk of Casa Poop was then completely unapologetic, even though we had booked and confirmed weeks prior, then didn’t even try to help us find another place; she just shrugged her shoulders and said that everything was probably booked, then sat in silence as we tried in vain to book something else on our phones. She did let us use the Wi-Fi, thankfully. To be fair, it was a holiday weekend so there were a lot of people in town, as well as an arts and crafts festival happening at the river and, to her credit, lots of places were fully booked. But, Cuenca is a big town. Every single room is booked so don’t even bother trying? Come on.
So, we walked one block down and saw Hotel Yanuncay. The guys at the front desk smiled and waved through the glass so we decided, “Hey, let’s see if they have a room. ” They said that they did and that we could go ahead and check in right then (it wasn’t even 12pm, yet! ). The room was great and clean and the hotel, itself, was very clean and well furnished — bar/restaurant downstairs with a natural light hangout area on each floor as you go up. The staff is awesome and extremely welcoming and there was a free breakfast included, too.
So, not only did we get to check in earlier than we would have, it was also more economical than our original plan.

Wonderful hotel. Great value for money. Service is perfect and so are the rooms and the included breakfast. Wifi is top. Close to the old centre. 6 stars when it was possible.

My friend and I stayed at this hotel for three nights. I have been travelling South America for 8 weeks and have stayed in a number of accommodations across Colombia, Peru and Ecuador. I can confidently say that this was the best experience I have had, by far. Marcos is exceptional. He was so attentive — from ensuring our laundry was cared for and at the requested time; calling us cabs, helping us with our bags. Breakfast was nothing short of incredible. Marcos’ service was prompt and efficient and the spread was great! Perfect assortment and lots of wonderful food provided. We were in a beautiful suite that was cleaned every day and anything we needed was immediately tended to. I really cannot say enough about the hospitality and work ethic that Marcos showcased. The hotel itself was clean, quiet and the beds were very comfortable. I could go on and on. You will NOT regret staying here.
