This is my second stay with Apartmento Otorongo and I am so glad they had a last minute vacancy.
On March 12th I was flooded out of my apartment near Tres Puentes. I immediately called Javier and Samara and asked if they had a vacancy and (above and beyond any other place) if there was a chance they might come pick me up.
The water was nearly up to my knees and I had my two kitties, documents and medications and some clothes. Javier said yes and headed my way.
After arriving at Apartmento Otorongo Javier found some dry pants (I forgot to grab a pair) and took me to Coral to pick up some things.
It was great to see Sara again (she's a wonderful lady) and to meet Mary. It was coming home (I stayed with Javier and Samara in 2019).
I have other friends who have thought of Javier and Samara first when they have an emergency and have to move out of their apartment and, when asked by friends from the States where to stay, I encourage them to check Apartmento Otorongo and Javier and Samara.

I booked this place for three months and left after nine weeks. My apartment was old, dirty brown spots on the ceiling, half the time no hot water for shower and no internet (remote worker). Send clothes to the laundry alway something missing. Try to add additional pet fees when I arrived (cat) after the reservation was complete. I had to find another place to keep my job and the owner had the nerve to call me and ask for the key return before my ninety days paid in full expired. There’s a big friendly dog that have access to your apartment and your food. There’s a lot of hostels and apartments in Cuenca much better then Apartamento Otorongo.
I would not recommend.
