Casa Michael Hostel

Wonderful guest house! Nice private rooms, with shared dorms aswell. Nice showers. A ping pong table outside in the outdoor courtyard. Very friendly!

Great place! Michael is amazing person help me and my friend and the place is very comfortable and relaxing.

We stayed here one night because it was close to the bus stop. The owner is nice but there wasn't much going for this hostel. It was really hot in the rooms. We weren't there very long but I probably wouldnt stay again.

It is a very nice place, you can feel the warmth family, everything is very close and especially the staff, always willing to help… It's cool to know three languages!

Very good place, Michael is very good host helps you in everything you need to travel the city, the country or other countries, and Q has traveled a lot especially in Galapagos gives very good tips… The house is nice, simple economic rooms and with a/c a different price but includes use of full kitchen and drinking water… A Plus is Q everything is close and you prepare vegetarian food, delicious!

Very nice staff and a clean welcoming hostel. Good deal for city prices. In an interesting neighborhood (not that it is bad, just unique) but is very accessible from airport or bus terminal, as well as easy food or grocery options. Easy to take local buses downtown as well. Good place if you just need to stop in guayaquil for a day or two on the way elsewhere.

Absolutly 5 star! I was just here to transfer to Galapagos, then I stay 6 nights! I have a really wonderful days in Guayaquil. Michael has a very good family and great guest house, people are so nice and cute here, Michael has a lot of traveling experience to share, including Galapagos, and he is very willing to share. I cannot speak Spanish, but I took bus everyday in Guayaquil, they always tell me the route and bus number with patience. Sharing some bus information here: From bus terminal you may take bus 65 to Josè Maria Roura, then take a short walk to Casa Michael. You can take bus 141 from the main road in front of Playa Mayor to Malecón 2000、Parque Seminario、Parque Centenario、Mercado Artesanal Guayaquil, then walk to Las Peñas and Faro Cerro Santa Ana, which is the main tourism area in Guayaquil, and you may take bus 114, 141, 84 from Mercado Artesanal Guayaquil to go back Playa Mayor. If you want to go to Parque Histórico Guayaquil, walk 2 more blocks to Av Antonio Parra Velasco VII, take Green and white bus with words "AURORA" mark. Thanks Michaels~:-)

At the end of all roads there is a home! My family and I have stayed in many hostels via booking, hostelworld or Airbnb, Michael place was, by far, the best place we've stayed. The hostel itself is just perfect it has everything you can wish for, from a well-equipped kitchen, to great bedrooms some with A/C (we slept so good), Michael was also an amazing host — he made sure that everything is perfect during our stay and was super kind and responsive. Thank you Michael!

Stayed for 2 nights in his new hostal next door, which is not finished at all +nice owner, cheap dorms -Cockroaches, ants, holes in the ceiling, fee for using the kitchen, living rat in shower, broken window and no curtains.

I have been many times there, the place is quiet and cozy Michael is very friendly and fun I recommend it to all.

Everything, the atmosphere is excellent.

We stayed in Casa design Michael for almost a week.
Awesome people and lots of fun and extremely close to the airport.
Next time we're in Ecuador, Casa de Michael will be our first pick for sure.
Don't forget to ask them about the Chiva! :)
