My husband and I came from Germany and stayed at Villa Gertrud for 2 nights during our trip to Denmark to get married. We had initially picked Villa Gertrud because of the close proximity to the train station and the town hall and city centre but we were very pleasantly surprised by the charm of the building and rooms. The place itself was nice but what really made the stay wonderful was the hospitality and friendliness of the owner!
On the morning of our wedding we opened the bedroom door to find a beautiful bouquet of tulips that had been thoughtfully left for us, it really made us smile!
I definitely recommend staying at Villa Gertrud, the hospitality makes all the difference in having a great hotel/b&b stay.
The place has an excellent location.
The rooms are small, stuffed and not very comfortable. Not very clean either, you can find spiders in the corners etc.
Kitchen is basic, bathrooms are crammed in super small spaces, everything is to the minimum.
The breakfast is coffee, orange juice and bread. I know it’s cheap but I paid the same for much better.
The evening service does not exist: someone phones you and tells you how to enter. Which also includes a degree of trust, that one appreciates!
In the morning, the lady at the reception is nice.

Although I didn't have the chance to go on the trip, my experience with the lady who owns the rooms was very pleasant. I booked a room for two, the next day she called me, asked if I wanted another (bigger) room. She was extremely kind and we had a nice conversation. Unfortunately I had to cancel the reservation but the lady was very reasonable.
