Hotel Casa Turire is a lovely little hotel in the heart of the hinterland of Costa Rica. It has a beautiful pool complex and beautifully designed gardens. Good food and good drinks complete the stay. Five stars top.

Staying at Casa Turire was like stepping back in time to an era when starlets and politicians snuck away for a weekend of luxury in the country. This inn is small, maybe 15 rooms in all, Spanish Colonial style. Rooms are cozy and quaint — in a good way. Each has a balcony with a cafe table and chairs, that invite you out to sit and admire the surrounding jungle. The food is wonderful. The service is excellent. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. One night, as our group sat outside under the covered pavillion enjoying a late dinner, the sky opened up with a lightening and thunder storm all around us. We sat and admired the show — and then the ground started rolling. It was an earthquake in the midst of a storm — like an E ticket ride at Disneyland! Fortunately no one was hurt and nothing was damaged so the hotel celebrated by treating the guests to drinks! A wonderful memory…

PESIMO SERVICIO! y son unos LADRONES! El día de hoy traje a unos amigos de San José a conocer su hotel, del que constantemente hablo bellezas. Y para mi sorpresa nos dieron la peor atención desde que llegamos. Llegamos a las 10:40 am dispuestos a desayunar y de primera entrada nos dicen que ya no hay desayuno y cuando preguntamos por el menú tradicional nos dicen que no nos pueden servir nada porque La Cocina está cerrada. Finalmente para no perder el viaje de hora y media desde San José, les pedimos que si podían hacernos tostadas y dar queso y jamón y unas frutas con café. El pan que nos dieron era pan cuadrado de paquete, queso Turrialba y un jamón cocido. Nada del otro mundo con un plato que tenía fruta que se notaba que no estaba fresca porque no era recién cortada y con poca cantidad. Y además de sentir que estábamos estorbando todo el rato que estuvimos ahi sentados, cuando nos trajeron la cuenta no podíamos creer que nos estaban cobrando 53.000 colones por un desayuno menos que Continental. Este tipo de prácticas de pésimo servicio y precios mucho muy por encima a la calidad de lo servido hace que clientes de San Jose, que usualmente andamos buscando opciones para pasear los fines de semana, se alejen y a la vez comprendan porque el turismo en Costa Rica sigue bajando. Realmente tuvimos una experiencia lamentable el día de ayer. Y lo peor es ver el Hotel totalmente vacío y pensar que talves al llegar nosotros nos iban a dar un trato personalizado.

Stayed here for a night while on our way to the Caribbean coast. Rooms are comfortable and cozy. Decorations are a bit dated but that actually helps to give the rooms that country cozy feel. The staff is very friendly. The restaurant's food is ok, not gourmet like it used to be a few years back. Overall a very chill and relaxing stay, I'd definitely come back :)

High end cuisine in a tranquil and open setting. I like the indoor tables near the windows, but their is outdoor dining by the pool as well. Also, their cheeses are made locally… not just the turrialba farm cheese, but the feta on the salads and more, yum! Almost forgot, the salad greens and other fresh veggies are grown right on site in their little garden which you can go visit.

Amazing location and friendly staff makes for a unique experience!

Recently stayed at this beautiful resort close to central turrialba. First, the location is excellent! The property and views are incredible and the activities are fun and relaxing. I got a massage after my long day and was very disappointed. The masseuse was friendly but unfortunately unskilled. My best advise is too stay away from the restaurant. Terrible food, prices, quality, portion, presentation, staff, cooks, and overall management, who is responsible for this failure.

Rooms very fine, restaurant and activities way too expensive. Bird watching tour was fun. Afterwards we had to pay 50$ per person, while we didn't even go further than around the hotel… Stay in the hotel is fine. Do all the meals and activities somewhere else.

Loved this place. It is in a beautiful place, between 15 and 20 min away from Turrialba downtown in a taxi, which should cost you 5, 000 colones. I did not stay in the hotel though, just went there to have dinner. The food was excellent. I wrote to them beforehand to ask if they could offer something vegetarian and they prepared some delicious stuffed bell peppers. Probably the best restaurant in Turrialba.

Very good hotel, very nice and quiet. Behind there is a lake where you can go kayaking, and we also have horses to go for a walk.

The building and grounds are beautiful. The restaurant isn't very good.
