Cartago Hotels

We had the pleasure of staying in the Quetzal Bungalow for three nights in May. The bungalow was spacious and beautifully laid out.

On our last night in Costa Rica, we decided to stay in a more secluded, less touristy location.
Dantica Cloud Forest Lodge was the absolute, perfect location!

My wife, 2 kids and I loved our stay here. The hotel and the property are great.

Our stay at this beautiful location was one of the highlights of our trip through Costa Rica.

Super nice place! Friendly service, very clean, comfortable beds and excellent location. It has a beautiful view of the mountains and volcano, even from the rooms in the first floor!

This would have been an excellent place to reserve for more than our single night. We had two units just above the main lodge. It was well equipped to actually prepare meals.

Clean, nicely appointed. The staff was wonderful. Kind, caring and extremely helpful to their guests.

I had a great stay at this hostel. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the place felt secure at all times.

Exquisite location. Beautiful views. Nice rooms. Very comfortable bed. An excellent restaurant. An exceptional breakfast where you can basically order whatever you want and Jose make it. Why?

I loved everything about this place.
The accommodations are so well put together, immaculate, comfortable, so many facilities. Bed so comfy and warm I slept like a baby!

A lodge located higher up with a breathtaking view and in a remote area. The couple hosting it are incredibly sweet and helpful!

Such a lovely and quiet place! The room is located on the floor below the floor of the owner. The room is very spacious, clean and the bed is comfy.

Excellent location, nice cozy design and beautiful vistas. And these two ladies that run the place are excellent cooks, all the food is done in house and tastes simply amazing!

Beautiful location with amazing views of the surrounding valley. Rooms look out on to the view. Beautiful veranda to watch the numerous birds.

Nice owner, Room is clean! Also will see a beauty at night 🥰🐶

It was beautiful. After a very long journey from Germany, we arrived in Villas Canaveral. At the family-run business, a birthday was celebrated on site in a family circle.

Whenever I visit Turrialba, I stay here. They provide a homey feel, and comfort. It’s in walking distance to many restaurants and stores.

I’ve been staying at this charming bed and breakfast in Turrialba, Costa Rica, every year for my work trips, and it’s truly my home away from home.

This was an amazing, unique experience. We were fortunate to be just our family of four rafting and staying for a night at Rio Vista.

Amazing for so many reasons but some big ones include.
1) Extremely accommodating of dietary restrictions (gluten, dairy, fish, and more)
2) Great first aid when my husband slipped on the trail!

We booked this place last minute due to some plan changes and wow what a find. The hosts are amazing and so welcoming and knowledgeable of the local area, flora and fauna.

Recommended experience! Especially because you get half board with home made food, feels authentic and special (very tasty)!
The view from the living room is unbelievable and the owner is super nice!

My favourite stay in Costa Rica! We arrived early as my partner was feeling ill, they let us straight in the room and I was able to grab lunch in the lovely cafe area to be nearby.

Super nice place! Friendly service, very clean, comfortable beds and excellent location. It has a beautiful view of the mountains and volcano, even from the rooms in the first floor!

We had a very pleasant but short stay here and we thoroughly enjoyed our time.

We have stayed at this hotel several times over the past 10 years. We have never had any issues. Service has always been good. The restaurant is good as well.

Fantastic place. Berna is a great host. Great breakfast. Highly recommended.

Stayed in December. I observed so many hummingbirds and other birds all over his property. Fish dinner was delicious. The “deck” view above is beautiful of the green hills and houses.

We loved staying here, the cabins are lovely with stunning views and immersed in nature surrounded by birds. It lives up to it's name and the property is home to many hummingbirds.

The house is absolutely beautiful and fully equipped. Is the perfect spot to be kinda insolated while looking for a full peace and quiet stay.

Fantastic house, beautiful views of volcan turrialba. And mountains. Tranquil last few days of trip. And wonderful host.

Very cute cabin high in the mountains. Weather is much cooler than most other places in Costa Rica.
Cabins are very cute and the staff are amazing. Breakfast and dinner were very good.

A very special place! They take such great care of their gardens, which attract so many birds!
Also with nice trails around.

Me and my husband stayed 9 nights at Guest House Montaña Linda and did not want to leave! Orosi is a lovely, authentic little town where you can definitely practice your Spanish.

We are return customers to Paraiso Quetzal Lodge! Unfortunately, we can't comment on the rooms as we have never stayed overnight. We make a stop here to eat lunch and photograph the hummingbirds.

We had a much cheaper lodge booked and were only going to spend a day here birding the trails and feeder deck, but after being greeted by the very friendly staff, walking a trail, and just

I can't give Pacuare Mountain Lodge enough stars to express our satisfaction with the experience. Nor can I describe how wonderful it was more succinctly than all the other reviews I have read.

This is a magical place! Everything is absolutely beautiful — the accommodation, the setting, the restaurant. The staff is incredibly helpful, very friendly and sweet. The food was delicious.

Spot on.
Everything was well beyond our expectations.
It is the only place where we preferred to stay in rather than eat out on our whole trip in Costa Rica.

As a nature photographer this place turned out solid. Greatly enjoyed night hiking here and they've got good mammals and birds. The owner was very responsive and fast to reply.

This place is top-notch. I really should have stayed two nights. Anybody that’s doing the Camino de Costa Rica should consider taking a break after stage 3/4 and resting here for two nights.

LOVED Turrialba. Nice break from the more touristy areas of Costa Rica.

This place is incredible. The whole place has a nice roomy layout. Fernando was very helpful. Our favorite place that we stayed at in costa rica.

Lovely place, lovely people. After coming from the tropical lowlands it was a bit of a shock to be up at 9000 feet but we had a great time by the fireplace meeting other guests.

Iyok Ami is a very basic no-frills hostel but excellent value and a great experience if you're up for something different.

Montana Linda is a hostel nestled in Orosi, Costa Rica. The communal areas are great and there is a warm atmosphere, very authentic.

Great hostel in Orosi!
Ideal for backpackers and Felipe the receptionnist is a great guy!

Great experience at Emilio’s pochotel! Stunning view and delicious food. We stayed one night with our campervan, it was great. For sure our best camping spot in Costa Rica.
