I had such a nice stay here, Marcus and his wife Fran were incredible hosts with wonderful recommendations for hiking, sight seeing, iglesias, restaurants, and more.

I had an incredible stay at the Refugio Ballena Hostel. Marco and Fran are a lovely duo, full of energy and smiles, who are eager to share both their home and island.

Very comfortable rooms, clean and well-equipped kitchen and a cool little common area.

Great choice for Castro. Delightful and helpful staff, with fluent English spoken. Thank you for your help with what to do during my stay in Chiloe. The other main highlight was of course the cat!

I spent four nights at this Hostal in April of this year-2025-and was very impressed… The location was perfect-a short walk to the main square Plaza de Armas… Sleep quality was excellent and my room

Quite good but filled with couples and an older crowd. Hostel is in the name but this is more sort of bed and breakfast vibes.
