One of the worst experiences in regards to customer service. We went inside to the reception desk to ask about pricing. The elderly lady at the counter was nice but we weren't convinced so we asked if we could take a quick look at the sites before we made a final decision. We drove around the loop with our two cars and then pulled up side by side to discuss which campsite to choose. As we were doing this the very old and grumpy man that owns the campsite started yelling at us and telling us to "beat it" and wave his little fist in the air. He was telling us that "this is private property" and "that we need to go to reception". I do not recommend staying there.

Great location with some waterfront spots. It has indoor washrooms with hot and cold water. It has a indoor spring water hot tub and salt water pool. The facilities overall showed its age. Cost was competitive for the winter off season. It was very difficult to find the lone employee, even when we called the number posted at the main office. It is suggested to look at the actual site you intend to rent before signing the deal.

Pros: Here in the low season so it's quiet and empty. Owner is friendly. $2 more than the campsite next door and includes hot showers. Cons: The hot tub is luke warm, the pool water is clean but the pool looks pretty grimey. If the place was full the campsites would have zero privacy, they really are packed like sardines. Unless you pay for an RV hookup there are zero outlets for so much as charging a phone.

When you are freezing cold from a day of surfing in the rain, there is nothing better than a camp site with a hot tub. $44 per night for 3 friends felt like a hell of a deal. Service was great, and helpful. Honestly, not sure why the reviews are so bad… people go to Tofino to experience the wilderness, not experience a 5 star resort. It's a camp site… not a Fairmont Hotel. Good work Mckenzie Beach Resort… I will be back!

Extremely dirty and they pack you in like sardines! It seemed that there was no limit to what they could fit into their campground. I could only find one female bathroom for the whole campsite and it was absolutely disgusting. I have camped all across Canada and by far this is the WORST place I've ever experienced. The only good I could find was the beach but that you can find other places along the way. It was also one of the most expensive campgrounds I've paid for! This place almost turned me off Tofino. If I was in any way responsible for Tofino's public image I'd do something about this establishment. Seriously!

Well… Can't agree more with all the one star comment's. But! I did not have a reservation and these guy's did not take reservation's so that meant I had a spot to sleep! Was it a common ground with other's for 48$ plus taxes and no fire pit? Yup! But this being said, I hade a place to sleep, pee and a beautiful beach to see the sunset from an over priced camp ground. Not enough camp grounds in tofino is an understatement!

Staff seems unable to manage their own computers, took forever just to check in and our cabin wasn't even ready. The cabin itself was basically a trailer. Not very clean, broken shower taps, noisy fridge, and a fine layer of dust over the entire floor. The whole site is basically a parking lot. Spaces are not well marked leading to campers taking the spot that the staff made you register for. There was also no sign of recycling or composting. Could be wrong but since the staff didn't tell us anything at all who knows. Do yourself a favour, plan your trip to the area early and stay some place else.

Ridiculously small campgrounds, dirty falling apart bathrooms, 57$ a night for 2 people for a 12x12 campground, rude staff. It's tofino, so you have to settle for it.

2 night stay in July 2015. $218.00 per night because the whole area was full. I am in my 70's, and have never stayed in a resort that was so filthy inside the very cramped room, offering a small fridge that was iced over, grass and dirt on the floor, not enough room to even have a small table upon which to eat. And only one small leather stuffed chair. Moldy odor, dirty sliding patio window. A shower stall so small I could not pick up the soap. Onlyone towel for the two of us. This place was a disgrace, the grounds poorly kept, For this cost, No phone, no cleaning staff ever showed up after our first night. We left with very bad memories of this so called resort, vowing to never return. We did not complain, the whole compound was similar in appearance. Typical Canadian, but be warned out there. This place is a disgrace.

I would actually give zero star. This campground is the shittiest I have ever seen. Unfriendly staff too. It was a life saver because everything around was full at this busy time of the year. But 50 bucks for some tiny gravel campsite?! Do I need to mention the filthy showers where you have to give a 20 bucks deposit to get the key? Kudoz for the hot tub but that's all!

Never written a review before but this place was so bad I had to… my mind was blown by how much they charge for such shit! Website pictures don't do justice at all. Rented a one bedroom suite and it was old and disgusting and they make sure they take your money first thing so you can't back out! Don't ever stay here!

This campground is truly a disgust! They charge sick prices, are extremely rude and it is like camping in a parking lot. It is no wonder it is the only campground available NO ONE would stay here unless they had too. Will never come back here.

Rude staff, the cabins are not good, very disappointed.

Filthy washrooms (smelly and what looked like blood on the walls in one of them) communal showers and cramped camping spaces it would probably be best to find a different camp site if you can.

Really bad campground and such a rip-off. You feel like being in a parking lot but you pay $ 60 the night. No seperate showers and pool is out of order. Never again.

Save your money! Not impressed with this facility they need to put some of the money into the campground! Look elsewhere.

This resort is simply underground, but expensive. We were in October there, it smelled sparkig. It was musty and damp. The view is sometimes great. Service equal to zero. Bath overgrown Aspergillus. Crystal cove next door in the same Bay is great.

We stayed two nights on the rv-park. The spot is beautifull. But why should you keep your campground and facilities up-to-date as people still will come, with such a few campgrounds around. Pour facilities. No separate showers (only in swimming pool), dirty, outdated washrooms, small campsites, exra fee for internet (4 dollar), no dry firewood), EXPENSIVE (56 dollar for one night hook up! ) We stayed on several procincial park campgrounds, what a difference. Okay, no or less facilities, but CLEAN and quiet. Next time again? NO THANK YOU.
