Super located! Very clean! Nice breakfast! Extra bed not recommended for older children — extremely uncomfortable! Indian restaurant in the house very tasty and good portions with 10% discount for the house guests! For the price 5 points!

Good location. Bed was nice. Room was glumly. Breakfast was mediocre. Big peeve soap dispenser in shower not working. Oh and bed bug bits all over my back. Avoid this place.

I had a nice experience here. Location was perfect for our needs. Stayed in June 2017. Bed was comfy (though a bit soft for my taste) and the room was clean. We had a nice big window and the mini kitchen in the room came in handy. The dinner we had in the restaurant in the lobby was delicious (I believe it was Indian food when we were there) and breakfast each morning was standard hotel fare, but with some nice touches (smoked salmon, croissants). The Jacuzzi was nice in theory, but was loud and took FOREVER to fill.

Once you get past walking through a restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised by our room. It was very clean and quiet. The staff was very friendly. The continental breakfast had an excellent variety. I would stay here again.

Very great place to stay. Very accommodating, especially at the last minute after a horrible Airbnb experience. The place is huge, super clean, everything provided felt very luxurious. Front desk was very hospitable, breakfast was included. Would recommend to anyone and will 100% return here again.

Nice enough, but walking through a restaurant to get the reception with a suitcase feels odd. Jacuzzi was not very powerful and very noisy.

Perfect location to all of the things we wanted to do. The metro was maybe a half a block away, which was very convenient as well. Jeanette was extremely helpful and so pleasant. The room itself was cute and very clean — — not a single speck of dust! Our only issue was with the toilet — — when we first arrived, it was leaking. But the staff fixed it immediately. The breakfasts were great to get you going for the day, with eggs, fruit and pastries. Would definitely stay again!

Location (40 m from metro) and price, neither one can be beat. Breakfast was way above expectation. Room itself was, eh, passable and clean enough, if a bit rough around the corners. This auberge is run out of the desk of the Indian restaurant one the ground floor. Would stay again no question.

The staff and the manager were very rude. They were completely unprofessional and didn't know what they were doing. The breakfast included with the booking was just few bagels and eggs. I don't recommend anyone to stay here.

Friendly staff. Clean, spacious, well appointed rooms. Conveniently located close to subway and many shops and restaurants in the plateau area. Wonderful for the price. Would come again.

Bed was uncomfortable. Smell from downstairs restaurant permeates the room and hallways. Bathroom not the cleanest. Friendly staff and great breakfast.

Great hostel! Their rooms were clean and were representative of the photos that were placed at our disposal on their site. We took a bath suite and were very pleased! We will return with great pleasure!

The initial opinion when my girlfriend and I arrived at the hotel was 'omg what did we get ourselves into'. The entrance is locked by security key and the 'check in' desk is through the restaurant that is on the first floor of the hotel. Once we were in the room we were pleasantly surprised as it is a little studio with everything you need. The bed is comfortable, everything is clean and we even have a Jacuzzi in here. The only problem is their limited parking, and parking in the neighborhood overall is pretty scares.

I haven't even stayed here yet, and I'm already absolutely horrified by the service. I booked a room online and after I tried to cancel it due to a family emergency coming up, I was informed that I would still be charged for the room because I booked it after their two week in advance free cancellation policy. After asking for asking to have the fee waived, and being told no, I changed the reservation to a different weekend that I was hoping to make. When I realized it would be too difficult for me to make it down there, I called to cancel my reservation (two weeks before my check in date) and was screamed at by the hotel manager. He kept yelling and was so aggressive over the phone that I'm actually too scared to even check in now. I have absolutely no desire to go after the terrible terrible service I received via email and over the phone. DO NOT stay here, the manager is crazy and hysterical. He also kept telling me that he has no compassion over and over again. Customer service is not the priority of this hotel.

My daughter booked the hotel for herself and a friend. We had a very serious family illness that forced her to try to cancel. The manager refused to cancel it for her and just moved the dates up a couple of weeks. Unfortunately, circumstances have gotten worse and she needed to cancel because the new dates were still not going to work. I I called to try to cancel the reservation. The manager Giovanni Blanco was rude and aggressive over the phone. Said he had "no compassion" and that it was business, so no refund. The manner he spoke was so aggressive and insensitive that I am fearful of letting my daughter (whose 18) stay there. At first when I asked him for his name his response was "why? So you can complain? " And refused to give it to me until about the 5th time I asked him. I don't know what the hotel itself is like, but if the 'general manager' treats his guests over the phone in this manner, I would rather loose the money. I understand cancellation policies and such, but sometimes there are extenuating circumstances and human compassion is needed. In the very least, even if funds won't be refunded, telephone mannerisms should be respectful and not threatening. I work in the travel industry and I would never recommend this hotel to anyone! Travelers be aware!

First impression after our encounter with the front desk guy wasn't pleasant. They should work on their people skills to make you feel welcomed. The room was half hour late to get ready. The parking area is a joke. But in all fairness the room was very nice, spacious and clean. No elevator though, so after a full day of walking it gets very difficult to go up to the 3rd floor. Breakfast was very good.

Very noisy. Even with earplugs I hear the people walking past outside during the night. Also thin-walled between rooms. When I checked in I asked for a quiet room, which they promised me. Instead I got the worst room furthest down, closest to the main street. After a couple of days I could change to another room. This room was a "budget room", a third of the size, with basically no ventilation. However, they still charged me the same as for the superior I booked. Breakfast very basic.

Well located, good breakfast, comfortable room with balcony on St Louis Square and private parking.

The front desk staff was rude upon entering and exiting. The sink faucet was loose the TV on the wall was crooked, bad shower head etc. It looks like they did a nice job on the rehab, but gave up. And since they were so rude at the desk, we did not even want them in our room to clean it for the few days we were there. Also we faced the street and it was pretty loud. Good mattress, clean room. Again if they would be warmer, than maybe people would tell them that things were not working and the room would have been in good shape. This was Canada, and I felt like I was in New York City.

Great rooms, kitsch decor, breakfast all honored. Not bad at all except for cleanliness. The floors and rooms are not cleaned every day.

Great location, service was fine, room smelled musty and we could see into our bathroom from the patio despite the one way film. Kitchenette was a nice touch but the glassware was stuck to the shelf. No private parking but a fantastic location!

Very well located to spend a weekend in Montréal. The room was OK and the continental breakfast was good. The price was very competitive.

Location was ok as far as being close to where we wanted to be. However the brochure doesn't tell you that all the junkies hang out in the park across from the hotel and use the parking area behind as a toilet which is what the balconies look at. Parking is very small too, If we didn't get 1st spot our car wouldn't have fit. Too bad, rooms are alright and so is the staff but due to the junkies at the park we wouldn't stay here again.

DO NOT STAY — SMELL THE ROOM FIRST! I honestly have a very mixed feeling at the time I'm writing this review. The hotel failed big time because of the unacceptable smell in the bathroom. I mean could you REALLY stay at a place that is way stinkier than a sewage, especially that's a hotel room? The first time we noticed the smell, I came down and told the manager. While we went out, they re-cleaned the room. (That's why I feel a bit uncertain whether or not I should leave this negative review) But honestly though, they said that they changed the sheet, etc but the problem wasn't coming from the sheet or the curtain. It's the freaking combination of sewage and ventilation system in the bathroom! Why didn't they just recognize it in the first place and close that room? Why didn't they manage to give us another room before everyone booked them all up? Why didn't they think of any sorts of better explanation than " Oh, we didn't smell anything and nobody before you complains about it… " I find it's really disappointing that the manager and hotel staff didn't acknowledge the issue, they ignored us and treated us as if we were making this problem up for a gain (?! ) I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS HOTEL AGAIN. As well I will never tell my friends to go here. Please be alarm, don't get fooled by the price. If you're staying somewhere you would want to stay at a room at least odorless!

Completely enjoyed our stay at Auberge du Carre St-Louis! Beautiful and spotless double queen loft. Less than a block to the metro, nice breakfast! Very helpful staff! Would just add a security lock to inside of room door. Make parking reservations ahead of time. Only four slots available in outdoor area behind hotel.

I don't want to write this review, because I don't want to give this little spot away. I want to keep it to myself forever and never let anyone else stay there. They have a wonderfully responsive staff, well appointed rooms with little coffee machines and fridges, balcony with a view over the Carre St. Louis, one of the most famous town squares in Montreal. Good little breakfast with good croissants, fruit, eggs and yoghurt, coffee and tea. The place is surrounded by fabulous restaurants (try the creperie right a the entrance to the hotel, or the "Nil Bleu" up the street). I would definitely stay at this place again in Montreal.
