I would have to seriously nitpick to complain about the Smith Hotel in any way… the place is fantastic.
The rooms are comfortable, warm, inviting, and adequately supplied for any length of stay.

It looked great online. Before we arrived, we received a text and email with the door code and key box code. There was a safe parking area.

We stayed at this West Kingston hotel for only one night on our way to Montreal. The location alongside Highway 401 is absolutely perfect for that. Check-in was efficient and friendly.

The staff is friendly and very helpful. The rooms are clean!
The kitchen staff are the real stars. Wendy and Bonny were so engaging and helpful.

My recent stay at this hotel was truly exceptional and exceeded all expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm welcome and professional service provided by the staff.

We love the fact that everything was closed. Super friendly staff. Everything was clean. Restaurants are within walking distance. We love the hot tub rooms!

The hotel’s location is very convenient to walk around the city and there are some restaurants, cafes and ice cream shops nearby.
Check-in staff was very friendly and helpful.

Great experience at this hotel for the price. We had a waterfront room. The room was clean and fairly updated. It had everything we could want. Loved the lobby bar, coffee area and restaurant.

Awesome hotel with awesome service, a five minute drive from the heart of downtown Kingston and a reasonable price to boot!

Very nice quiet location. They did not have a laundry room or any vending machines so do stock up in some late night snacks. Clean rooms, clean bathrooms, and comfortable beds.

Highly recommend this hotel! It offers a great combination of comfort, cleanliness, and excellent service.

While the room was comfortable and breakfast was fairly good, there are a couple of negatives that stood out for me.
The biggest one is the lack of an elevator.

Stayed here July 2025 for a night and it was superb. Plenty of parking, check in was easy, rooms clean, nice pool, breakfast was good.

Good location, close enough to businesses and good options. Very friendly staff, Honey has been helpful and answered all questions.

I was visiting a girlfriend at the hotel as her daughter was competing at a skating tournament at the slush puppy Arena. We went down for lunch and Kamal seated us as it had just opened for lunch.

From the beginning when we arrived, everything was smooth our reservation was perfect. Had a wonderful room. The front desk was very helpful.

From the first inquiry phone call (sports team) to Linda, the process was easy and pleasant. The hotel is clean, updated and the staff are very friendly.

Our team booked this hotel last-minute after our existing booking cancelled. Based on the nightly rate I wasn’t expecting much.

At a 2-star inexpensive motel in Ontario, I normally expect a working but noisy heating/cooling system, chipped bathroom elements, and slightly shabby if clean public areas. Not here!

We love comfort inn. Reasonably priced. Staff is warm and inviting. You know and provide all the right creature comforts. Great mattress extra towels a hearty breakfast eith gluten free options.

Pam at the front desk is the duty manager and was amazing in her hospitality and her baking is phenomenal. She helped make check in smooth and was very social.

The staff were very polite and supportive, especially Pam. She gave us some homemade pastries, which were absolutely delicious.

We had a pleasant stay at the Ramada. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and conveniently located, which made everything much easier.

Had an amazing stay here—everything was spotless, the room was comfortable, and the atmosphere was relaxing. The staff were friendly and made check-in super easy.

We were lucky to have a newly renovated room on the fifth floor at the very end of the hallway.

We knew about the renovations in advance, although they did not interfere with our stay. We stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms — very nicely put together.

Excellent stay, friendly staff. Beautiful room. Only a 10 minute drive to the wonderful downtown Kingston shopping. Also, great restaurant and shopping in walking distance from the hotel.

Jeet is the best front desk. He is adorable and charming. He always had a smile on his face when someone approaches him. The morning lady front desk was also very good (I didn't get her name).

Quaint motel on the water with recently renovated rooms. Guests can go down to the dock and use shared green space and BBQs.

The room was very clean, the people were very friendly. Shower was excellent, bed was big and comfortable.

Wonderful! I was making the big move to Kingston this fall, and couldn't take possession of my new apartment until a week after I had to start at my new workplace.

Clean rooms, great service. The fridge didn't work, as it didn't for some in other rooms that I spoke to, but it wasn't a deal breaker for us.

I had a great stay. The room, bathroom, sheets, everthing was very clean. The bed and pillows comfortable and fresh.
It is surprising quiet even though being on Princess Street.

I recently stayed at the Strata Hotel and had an excellent experience from start to finish.

Great room totally renovated with double sinks. Very clean. Just 5kms, 10 minutes from downtown Kingston.

Let's be honest, this isn't a five star resort and doesnt advertise as one, what it is though is great location, friendliest staff and just a great place overall to stay with the family.

We looked at other room and prices were crazy.
We stopped in at this one.
They gave us a good rate and held room for us incase roads were terrible.

Positive: Friendly, helpful staff. Complimentary breakfast. Clean rooms & needed amenities. Good location.

I have stayed there probably 50x o er my life and it's exactly what it should be an economy hotel downtown that is no frills but at least try to be worth your money.

Loved the stay at Country side inn. Mr Aakash was very kind and welcoming. We stayed there for 4 nights everything was perfect would definitely visit again.

Okay — I did not expect this place to be this good! Clean rooms, super cute decor, soft bedding, and the kind of service that makes you feel at home.

Our hosts Peter and Collin treated us with care and kindness. Our breakfast was delicious and fortified us for our adventures around the region.

Wow… great place, great location, absolutely amazing hosts. Collin and Peter were literally the high point of our short trip to the thousand islands. True gentlemen with a great sense of humour.

I am from Kingston but stayed here recently when I was in need of a quiet solo night. I picked it because it was a new and clean location and I was very happy with my stay.

Generic and clean hotel. Nice pool, hot tub, and larger than usual gym, which was a bonus.
The man running the breakfast is incredibly friendly. Keeps a lively vibe in the morning.

Beautiful and comfortable property that has a very homey feeling. We had 2 bedroom suite and it was great for 5 people. One room with a queen bed and another bedroom with a king bed and a single bed.

We had the distinct pleasure of staying at Whitney Manor in Kingston, Ontario. Kingston is kind of our go to place and we have been there many times over the years staying in many hotels.

Charming historic property, with comfortable amenities, especially the beds and linens. Excellent breakfast included. Walking distance to everything!

Very beautiful and unique hotel. The house itself and the area around it are stunning. Very close to the university and waterfront. The free breakfast is delicious and fresh with lots of options.
