Not overly impressed by this hotel. We were told during booking to call in the morning of our check in, so they would have the rooms cleaned first so we could check in early at noon instead of 3pm. We called at 9am to let them know we wanted to come early and were told at that time that the rooms would not be ready until 1pm. We got to the hotel by 1130am to let them know we were in town and would go shop first, but said we were disappointed we were told in this first place that the room would be ready early. The front desk clerk was polite but said no one should have ever told us that in the first place. Not impressed with that answer either as that is not our fault but a fault with the other staff who told us this was possible. That same front desk clerk said she would call us to let us know when one room was ready so we could come back and start settling in. She never called, but we had to call in order to find out 1 room was ready at 230 pm. When We got to the hotel she said the second room was being cleaned but we would get no later than 3 pm as that is their actual check in time. We went to the room and waited. By 330 pm we had to back down and ask at the front desk why our room wasn't ready. We were told they were still cleaning it and it shouldn't be much longer. By 4 pm another clerk delivered the keys to the room we were waiting in and apologized. If we weren't told that checking in at noon was a possibility, then we might not be so upset about all of the delays, but to have to constantly call and check in ourselves when told someone would be reaching out to us FIRST, is frustrating. We did voice all of this to the clerk who brought us our keys and he simply said I will discuss with the team. The group of us all work in customer service and know the value of first impressions. This definitely did not impress, and we can say we wouldn't choose to stay in a Holiday Inn again. We normally stay at a Marriott hotel but decided to give this hotel a try since they had rooms with jet tubs available. We were not offered our breakfast coupon that was included in the price of the room but had to ask for it too. The jet tub was falling apart and when we asked about why we weren't getting air flow in our room, they sent a maintenance worker in who made us feel like we were interrupting his day. Our room was at 26°C so we advised him that the air wasn't coming out and was not cool enough to cool the room down. He then showed us another vent that was closed, and he had to pry it open with a pen. How were we to know that this was the only way to open this vent? Some visitors may book a room just to sleep the night, but others, like us, wanted to enjoy some time in the rooms. The only saving grace was the delicious breakfast at Graffiti 's restaurant in the hotel. This was a King Suite room with a jet tub and is severely overpriced for $189.95 per night. Please feel free to respond via this review. We had rooms 325 and 425 from Feb 18 to Feb 19.
