Questionable maintenance. Moreover the pub is worthy of a myth. Surely everyone must make their own experience the obvious question: is I recommend it, No.

I am amending my review at the hotel's request, and have provided one additional star due to the fact that they did a very complete follow up with me. Due to a business trip located in this area, I booked a suite for ease of morning commute. It is very close to a key area in Toronto. The first room I was given was something I believe recently “renovated” from a closet — to the point that the suite number was written in marker on the door. (Not kidding). This was very small — bed against a wall, the “kitchenette” housed a one-cup coffee maker and no sink. There were a whopping count of two hangers in the closet. When we attempted to make the best of it with mindless television, we discovered the room received zero channels. I've been advised this issue with the television has now been addressed. The front desk staff member was very accommodating and friendly. We were offered another room. The next room was much better — actually what was expected from the photos on the website. There had been some type of housekeeping oversight in that the washroom held only one towel and had no shampoo, conditioner nor lotion. I've been assured that is not standard and additional towels, shampoo and such should have been provided in the room. The sofa in the living area was extremely broken down and while “okay” for a one night stay, was not of the quality anticipated in a hotel that houses “suites”. I've been advised that a new sofa will be in place in the future.

The worst hotel I have ever seen in my life, the shower head was broken and the bathroom door was broken too everything was dirty and smells so bad, I called four times the front desk to ask them why the internet is not working and they said we don't have a Wi-Fi range extender for the upper level, if you want to use the internet you can come downstairs finish your job and go back to your room, and the last thing I have to mention there was a blood on the bed sheet, so I don't recommend this place to anyone.

Clean environment, friendly staff, but internet was very inconsistent, and the cable experienced constant issues with some channels not displaying properly. Fine stay.

The price is quite justifiable, and the rooms are spotlessly cared for. We could not have asked for a more delightful experience and will assuredly stay there again.

Stayed here with my partner for our anniversary. The rooms were delightful and the bed was excellent. We will return again for sure.

We wanted a hotel nearby North York certainly fit that need. Our room was spacious and convenient. The staffs are accommodating.

Location was great. I was visiting Canada so it was very convenient since North York is nearby my business field. Room was neat and clean. The Staff was very friendly. Overall, a happy stay!

Excellent staffs who helped me late night after hearing my medical issue and it's a great location to stay.

Horrible experience at this hotel! Only good thing was that the A/C worked. Bath and showers had mold in all the corners, shower was about 5 feet from the floor so I had to crouch to get my hair wet. Paint was falling fall the walls. Largest towel size that they offered was about 3 feet long, even after we asked for larger towels. Mini-bar prices were ridiculous (but you get that anywhere). Breakfast seemed like a good deal, but the "egg sandwich" was a reheated frozen egg quesadilla that was still cold in the middle, fruit and yogurt was literally just a yogurt cup, bagel was microwaved so it was dried out. Tim Horton's is a 5 min walk down the street so definitely go there for breakfast. Definitely would not recommend going here. Spend a bit more and get a real hotel, this one felt like a motel with hallways. The front end staff was incredibly unhelpful; we asked for them to call a cab for us to take us to the airport and his face looked like we asked him to take us to the airport.

Locating was nice and central. A 15 minute walk to the subway station. When we arrived we were advised or room was upgraded. To our surprise the bathroom was full of mold Abe holes in the drywall. The bed was lumpy and felt like a section of it was broken. The towels provided wee stained and dirty and the size of a hair towel. When we asked for new towels, we were advised they were the biggest ones they carry and again were brought stained towels. There were dead bugs on the floor and the walls look like they had not been washed in quite some time. We decided since we had a busy day that we would order they room service breakfast which was to include 2 breakfast sandwiches. Cereal. Orange juice. A bagel. And fruit yogurt. What we received was 2 frozen, skinny egg Quesadas, a microwaved hard bagel, and tang for orange juice. It was the worst breakfast I have ever eaten. The cost of the hotel was cheap but we will never stay in another maryam hotel again.

Good location, comfortable, clean. Staff was friendly & helpful. Room had mini fridge, microwave and one cup coffee maker which was nice. It suited my purpose for a one night stay.

The cleanliness was not their forte and if you need the use of the sofa bed you have to fend for yourself in arranging the sheets, despite the price quite high. The breakfast is decent and in the room not included for all guests.

The staff here is wonderful and accommodating. but I feel like I got ripped off by booking at this place, its a 12 room hotel with 6 parking spots, half of which are taken up by employees, and a very tight fit. My rental car was a midsized SUV, and I could barely back up or pull into a spot because the parking lot which is conveniently covered in photos of this hotel is so small. The rooms that they show on the website aren't what I got either, its a bed, a hallway, and a bathroom, thats pretty much it.

When we checked in to this "hotel" we were shocked to see how small it was! There are only 12 suites! The parking lot is even smaller so arrive early if you want a spot to park! There is no elevator which makes the second floor inaccessible to the elderly or those with mobility issues. The photos on-line are very inaccurate and misleading! A two bedroom suite is actually quite small! The location of the hotel itself is quite sketchy to say the least! The pro for the hotel was the front desk clerk! Once he heard about our concerns he quickly refunded us the full price for our reservation — less the night we actually stayed. Look elsewhere! Don't waist your time or money on this "hotel"!

Clean, Nice staff, Quite, Reasonable prices, Had nice styling.

What a neat little property in the city. A ways away from the main drag, so you need a car. Parking is spotty but luckily we found a spot. The room was nicely decorated. The bed was well worn but comfortable. A decent little place. :)

Decent sized rooms tv. Washroom was clean and maintained only thing I didn't like was that the towels were on the small side.

I checked in and paid for a week's stay in advance. I was in the place for less than 15 minutes before deciding it was too disgustingly dirty to stay. A partial refund was issued at the time, with assurances that the manager would be in touch about the rest. After a month of chasing her down, she rudely declined to even discuss the matter and will not refund the remaining amount. Disgusting room, disgusting attitude.

Staff was very polite the room accommodations were great everything tidy and well put only for a night. Left my item behind there (charger in the wall) and they couldn't get it back or find it so not the honest of housekeeping but kind. They meet requirements but do not think to go above and beyond.

Good location for my purpose. Clean spacious room. Relatively affordable. However, couldn't accommodate early check in.

Check in was quick, front desk was friendly, no problems at all! Rooms were spacious, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Wifi also worked great! However, the walls are very thin, and there is very limited parking in the back (make sure you go early so you can get a spot). Otherwise amazing, perfect for a weekend stay :)

My friends and I went up to Toronto for a week for vacation and some partying and this hotel was our go to choice as the price was reasonable and it seemed to clean enough. We got there and we had a little trouble with our room because the previous guests delayed checking out of our room without giving a notice and so we had to wait for about an hour but it wasn't a big deal, we just grabbed lunch down the street meanwhile. We all felt really comfortable staying there, with the number of people in our group, we needed a spacious room! The Wi-Fi was kinda weak but we were barely in the room throughout the day so it did not really matter. We didn't really have any issues with the staff, room, or anything else really. There were evenings where we would get back to the hotel at 3-4AM and still get the friendliest staff service. We really did have a lot of fun in Toronto and staying here just completed the package by making us feel comfortable.

Small cozy hotel with friendly stuff at the reception. One of the most spacious rooms I have ever been staying at. Clean! Price is better then downtown hotels but the location is still good as it's close to subway. So you can get to downtown in. Like… 15 mins or so.

This is the only hotel in the area offering 2 bedroom suite! And let me tell you It is an ideal option for a family with kids. There were 2 bedrooms with Queen size bed each and separated kitchen/living room. What I like the most: 1. Enough space for a family of 4 (even considering full of energy kids) 2. Kitchenette with fridge and microwave 3. Clean (I am crazy about it and when I say it's clean I mean it's really clean) 4. Quite and safe neighborhood 5. Good choice of TV channels 6. Beds were comfy! What I don like: 1. Parking is a bit tricky. It's free though… 2. No free breakfast (that is why I took 1 star off)

From outside looks like an old style hotel but inside it is updated. Lobby and rooms are nicely designed. Kitchen is a huge plus. Spoons, folks, plates and similar stuff were there. It was calm and quiet there, not on busy street. 10 mins walk to a subway, but you can take a bus as well. Overall it was good! May be a little bit pricey.

Good location and very friendly staff. The suite decorations are unique and definitely not the run of the mill chain hotel, which made the trip seem somehow more special. There are restaurants and pizza places nearby. For dinner we walked to Yonge st, which was only two blocks away, and had another amazing experience, but that is another story for another time. All in all, I recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in North York and experience exceptional service and accommodations without paying the tourist trap pricing.

I stayed the 1 week and it was a total NIGHTMARE. The first 2 nights I froze to death at night because my room did not have it's own thermostat. When I complained, they said "you have to wait until morning because we can't wake up resident of the room with which you are sharing the thermostat! " They changed my room on day three and moved me to a room with a thermostat! During my stay, I did not sleep well even one night. I woke up with loud noises in the middle of the night. Sound of talking, laughing, blow dryer, every thing… what time? 1 am! when I informed the front desk, they said "it's too late, so we can't address them now. We will talk to them in morning! ". This hotel has no sound proof what so ever, nothing at all! you can hear from next room, from upstairs, every where. The service is not good. They have room service every day, but if you want coffee or tea, you have to go ask for it. I believe Mar yam hotel is not a good place to stay and despite their low quality services the price is unreasonably high!
