Horrible service on the last night the staff can make tips. You would think they might try harder since they don’t know when they will be able to open again. Portions were very small and overall disappointing : (

We had dinner on the patio, a little chilly but they lit up the patio heater and it warmed us up nicely. Dinner was delicious, service was great, view was wonderful, and of course enjoying this experience with my husband was amazing!

Horrible food! Long wait for food and it as all burnt! Extremely dissatisfied!

Great service! The hubby and I went out for dinner and the service was great from the host (Jesse) to the waiter (Jordan) and they were awesome at their jobs. The food was great and nice atmosphere in the dining room.

Tonight we took 3 out of town guests for dinner. 11/2 hours after our arrival our orders were served. The dining room and the bar were not fully occupied. No explanation or compensation were offered for the very poor service. Is there a problem in the kitchen?

Excellent restaurant with small menu but great food.

I only had drinks at the bar. There weren't very many people there, and the service was still not very good. The drinks are good, and there are a variety of cocktails, but the bartenders will free pour so you're never really sure how much you're getting.

The Staff was great especially Hazel! The lack of air conditioning in the conference room where my son and daughter in law held their wedding reception was unacceptable especially considering someone who frequents this centre often for socials said it is always this way! So sad! The party was basically ruined because the music inside was not enjoyed by the guests who were on the deck trying to get cooled off. Unacceptable!

Last evening we went to the Rendezvous for a irthday celebration supper. I understand that there are a lot of folks in town for the Bass Tournament but that is the time you have your full staff on board. We arrived shortly before 7:00, our drinks arrived promptly but after 45 min we had to ask for a server to come and take our order. After two more inquiries about the meal it arrived an hour later. The liver, which is usually amazing, was dry, the one order was completely wrong, ate it anyway, and the warm goat cheese salad which I had eaten just the Saturday evening before was disappointing to say the least. The staff was apologetic and we realize that they are not in charge of what goes on in the kitchen. From now on we will be very careful about when we choose to come here for a meal again. Very sad to have to post this review.

Nice place, no microwaves in the rooms though. Restaurant has good quality but a small menu. Waterfront view is nice as well.

Pretty nice spot. Big open field and a park not too far away! Great area for children to run and play. Can even jump in the water when you feel like swimming!

A beautiful hotel, restaurant, bar, meeting centre located on gorgeous Rainy Lake! A definate must see!

The food was terrible, but the room wasn't half bad. They had a window, at least. They tried to kick us out because there were higher paying customers, so we got our money back and left. Overall a bad experience.

Wasn’t too happy that they just remodelled and don’t even have a handicap toilet in the handicap bathroom. Couldn’t even order what I wanted on the menu. Boo.

My wife and I drove out to Fort Frances from Winnipeg for much needed night away (Rider Winter blues! ). We went for dinner in their dining room. There was a very small misunderstanding with our order — and not only did she apologize for the mistake — but she took it upon herself to inform the manager. The manager came over to apologize again and insisted on taking care of our dessert.
Everything was handled very professionally and they made us feel like valued customers.
We have always loved the food and the service received here and in no way will this affect our decision to return.

My husband and I just had our wedding held at the Vous for NYE. Throughout the planning, organizing, catering and decorating, Jolene Stahn, the event Manager was amazing to work with. Jolene was quick to respond to our requests and questions. She knew everything about wedding planning, right down to coordination of meals, ceremony times and providing us names and numbers for DJ, decorator and photographer. She allowed for us to enter the hall days prior to the event to start decorating and arranging our floral pieces.
She truly made our event non stressful as when there were small kinks throughout the day, she ironed them out, quickly & professionally.
Between the reception dinner, the midnight poutine bar, breakfasts and lunches at the Vous… There was never a complaint heard. Their food is awesome!
Throughout the weekend, the front desk staff were friendly and happy to assist where needed for making our Wedding day perfect!

The hotel is very clean and the location is excellent.

You just cannot beat the lakeside view and the friendliness of the staff @ The Vous! Both Andrew (server) and Kevin (bartender and all around "let's make everybody happy" guy) were outstanding for our Thanksgiving dinner out. I had the plated special which was tasty, although to be honest the portion size was small. I asked for extra gravy midway thru meal as the amount was insufficient. Wondering if the kitchen was running low on the items for the plated special? The server passing by was more than happy to quickly take care of this request. Unfortunately, my daughter who is vegetarian, ordered the black bean burger and it was very disappointing. It arrived simply as a plain burger on a bun, we requested condiments to jazz it up some. The taste was bland and it crumbled when eaten as was so dry. The side garden salad was quite tasty. Chefs need to look into how to improve on both quality and appearance of this menu item. Looking forward to returning for the atmosphere & location…

The view was nice from our lake front room and it really was breathtaking at times. The room was nice and well decorated and maintained though the place showed some age. I felt the king size bed was on an older frame that gave a bit on the edges more than I'd like. I found the shower to be functional. I enjoyed being there but I didn't find anything particularly great. The employees were nice and attended to your requests as best as they could but they seemed disinterested at times. The service at the restaurant was slow and the server though pleasant, took her time helping us and spent most of her time talking to her co-workers in the kitchen. I'd give the whole experience a 4 star rating out of 5 because although it was nice it never even once surprised or impressed me. It was pretty standard at every turn and I found myself thinking, "it's nice enough" very often. I wished even one thing had left me pleasantly surprised but honestly it was our 3rd hotel out of 4 on our trip and it was easily the most middle of the road. Hardly bad but never impressive. I'd go again if only to see the sunrise over the lake from my room.

Came here for 2 days on vacation. It was very nice. The hotel room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The food at the restaurant was good, but the service was a little slow for breakfast. The view was beautiful, and the staff was pleasant, but I would have liked a little more direction as to what there was to do in the town when we asked. All in all it was a decent stay.

La Place Rendezvous is in a lovely lakeside location. Rooms are clean and comfortable but quite basic. Hotel decor is quite dated. Nevertheless, housekeeping staff do an admirable job. Restaurant is also consistently good and serves local specialties like Wild rice and walleye.

Terrible food, ordered a Greek salad and all I got was lettuce and Greek dressing. I had a hamburger that had a meat patty and cheese, one slice of tomato and a lettuce leaf worst meal I can remember won't be eating there again ever.

Comfortable rooms. We had a split level room with door to lakeside patio. 2 additional rooms on second floor had lakeside porches. All had lakeside views uninsured by trees. Good, prompt breakfast service. Our second overnight stay in 3 years.

Was that for a wedding and stayed two nights. Was blown away by how beautiful the location is. Right by the water. Room is very clean awesome view from the room. There's a couple chairs and a small deck to sit out there and swim. Restaurant was good too. Highly recommend to try the walleye fish which is caught there fresh.

Service was excellent. View was spectacular. Love going there for lunch and sitting on the deck. Food is amazing.

Wasnt expeting a whole lot from the restaraunt but the 45 minute wait was aggravating. Good view from inside the restaraunt.

Nice place, good customer service oriented staff. Very comfortable beds and clean. Bathroom had a couple issues but it didn't bother me. La Place has also boat docks and a small beach.

Had a wonderful meal on the patio. Canada day fireworks. Great service. All around good times.

Rooms are upated, clean and the ones I've stayed in had great views of the water. The restaurant is good and the staff is helpful and friendly.

Good room and great service. Room also had an exterior door and small seating area outside right beside the lake. Plumbing from other rooms was a little loud though.

The rooms were average and waited a hour and a half for breakfast. We go to Dryden now.

We stayed at Rendezvous for the weekend of my daughter's wedding in June 2015. Weather was perfect and the view from our room of the lake was classic, calm and peaceful. Our room was comfortable, clean and had all the amenities needed. The only drawback was that breakfast (at least a continental breakfast) was not included which is something we are generally accustomed to when we travel. Overall we were pleased with our stay and would definitely book again if we are ever in the area again.

We had an issue with the television in our room that the onsite staff were unable to solve. They upgraded us to a room with a Jacuzzi tub! Great service! Rooms on the lakeside have terrific views. The restaurant is also excellent.

Will be returning next year and staying at least one additional night so we can enjoy the hotel and the town. We do an annual motorcycle trip east and decided to stay here on my brothers recommendation from his stay the previous year. Now we are recommending this hotel to all our motorcycling friends.

The Rendezvous is my favorite restaurant in Fort Frances. The view is great, the food is top quality and the service is friendly. The lounge is a great place to catch up with friends too. Rainy Lake is beautiful.
