Quay Executive Rentals overbooked and they relocated me to Ocean Breeze, a few blocks away. Given they only gave me 1 week notice, I really had no option but to agree as all the other hotels in town were booked and charging $500+/night. An email was sent to me, cc'ing Margaret at Ocean Breeze, confirming my 1 night stay and time of arrival. On the day of, Margaret was not there at 4pm even though the email stated 3-4pm check-in. Once she did arrive, she said she was not expecting me and did not receive any confirmation/deposit and I was "lucky" she had a spare room. Needless to say I was not impressed. I showed her the email and called Quay and they were able to sort out the payment issue. I only stayed for 16 hours and it was fine enough. They did not have proper toiletries like shampoo and body wash. There were a few daddy-long leg spiders in the washroom. Otherwise the room and bed were clean.

Do not let the pictures of the place fool you. Photos posted on the web are old; from the time they just opened the place. In its current status the place stinks. Bed sheets are probably 3 to 4 years old, carpets are so dirty you barely want to step on them. Price shown on the web is as expensive as 4 star hotels like Holiday inn which is brand new and just 7 minutes away from ocean breez. Yet Margaret tries to increase the price if you call her. If you still want to go there do not give her your credit card nor book online just drive there check the place and if you decide to stay you can pay cash otherwise if you do not like the place which I am almost sure will be the case then she will try to charge you the full amount or two nights or if you argue 1 night. There is no cancelation policy.

I have stayed with Margaret at the Oceanbreeze for over 16 years and have stayed in every room in the B&B. The breakfasts are fantastic and the host is a charming women who makes you feel at home. It is our home when in Vancouver and I always stay in North Van over downtown!

Liked this B and B. Extremely comfortable king size bed. Clean and charming. Hot and fresh made breakfast. Will come back again! Thank you.

I really liked staying at Margaret's B&B. It was a lovely stay. I was in the Junior room (not listed on website). It was a cozy, very clean room. Awesome breakfast, it honestly felt like a buffet, cute little dogs on the premises as well. :) Margaret is very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again. Next time though, I will book ahead for the Eagle's Nest or Romantica Room because I want those bathtubs and view! :) The only thing I did not like was that I was not informed that a cleaning lady would be entering my room sometime after I left for the day to clean/organize my room. I don't like people coming into my room without warning or when I'm staying for only a couple nights. That would be my only complaint. Other than that, everything was awesome. :)

Margaret (the proprietor) screwed us! Do NOT trust her. For our anniversary, we were looking forward to a 3-day romantic weekend at a B&B in Vancouver. After looking for something within our price-range and location, we booked through Expedia. I called Margaret to verify the room and she offered the room to us for less money if we went directly through her. She took our reservation on April 22, 2015, and also took a credit card to guarantee the room, sending us a confirmation on April 23, 2015. "… this is to confirm your reservation in " Ocean Breeze " for 3 consecutive nights starting July 3rd — July 6th ; name of the room is romantic " Eagles Nest suite " overlooking Vancouver Harbour / Cruiseships rate $ 199.00 CAD + 18 % local tax, full breakfast is included… " We arrived very late from California on Friday, July 3, 2015, and we found out after a 4 hour flight that Margaret sold our room to another party — even though it was prepaid. She did NOT hold our room. She did move us, arbitrarily, to a company apartment she rents out. We got in so late, we did not have a moment to think. Unfortunately, the apartment is located 2 blocks from two very active train tracks and a main transportation street with lots of traffic waking us about 6:30 AM. Good luck sleeping through the trains coming through!

I cannot say enough good things about the Ocean Breeze B&B! The location is fantastic, the home is beautiful, and Margaret is absolutely wonderful! We had a room facing the water with a lovely view of Vancouver from the balcony. It was such a beautiful spot that my new fiancée chose to propose to me on the balcony! :) Margaret is extremely accommodating, and makes a delicious breakfast! Also of note was the bed, which was just as comfy (if not more so) than my bed at home — a real treat when you've travelled a long distance! We can't wait to return to Vancouver and will definitely be staying at the Ocean Breeze! I would give it 6 stars if I could. :)

Margaret goes out of her way to make a stay at her hotel as comfortable and pleasant as possible. You know those movies where someone goes back home to their amazingly supportive and welcoming family? It's like that.
