This is our third time here and this time we brought our dog. They left a dog bowl a dog bed and some treats for her. Our bed was super comfortable, friendly staff and no hassle check in. Last time we were here Elk were grazing next door. Also the coffee shop/ restaurant next door Wicked Cup has the best coffee and breakfast. They have done an amazing job during the covid restrictions.

After arriving to this hotel which we had booked several weeks in advanced. We were placed in a room next to the pool that stunk of chlorine. The front desk staff and the manager (who was no where to be available to us for 5 days) dismissed our concerns and told us we were wrong, made the experience even more unwelcoming. They advertise as being on of the best places to stay in jasper but they are a dive motel at best with terrible service and an argumentative manager. Please think twice about staying at this location.

Warning: we had our dogs in the room with the AC on for a short period of time. When we left, we made sure the door was closed and locked. When we returned, the door was open far enough for my dog’s head to be shoved through it. When we asked the front desk what happened, they said “oh yeah you have to be careful with the doors in that building cause they only close properly if you pull them twice”. We checked the door again and if you pull it closed once you hear a latching sound and if you pull it again you hear another. I wish they would ensure their building was functioning before allowing people to stay there for $200+ a night or at the very least let us know about this at check-in. We could have lost our dogs. In addition, we found a used kleenex, poptart wrappers, and there was no top sheet on the beds. When we spoke to the front desk about this they said they’d mention it to the custodial staff. We didn’t feel safe here for our dogs, our belongings or for covid-19 standards.

We had a great sleep. All though we didn’t spend anytime in Jasper lol.

I like that the beds are in separate rooms. Great for families or friends that snore. Lol. Room is fairly clean. Bathroom could use some paint and wood work could use some refinishing but it adds to its rustic charm. Exterior wall is a bit thin and was woken up by cleaners Not a huge deal. Had to get up anyways. Overall I would give it a 4/5.

Housekeeping left our room open and we didn’t have air for the 4 nights we were there. They pumped the air from the area around the indoor pool into rooms. Super humid. Housekeeping supervisor would not speak with me. We were told there was an issue with the door and that it had been looked at before and that housekeeping is reminded daily of the issue. A cabinet door in the kitchen was broken. Only got an apology after 3rd visit to front desk. Manager finally reached out to me after I was home a week.

Good location… away from the busy main center but close enough to walk on a nice day.

Maligne Lodge, up until today the customer service was phenomenal. Although you are following policy as laid out. Sometimes going above and beyond for compassionate reasons would be helpful. Charging a whole nights regular rate for a few extra hours while someone is sick with the flu. Allowing him to sleep and have some privacy prior to driving back to Calgary when you are not fully booked tonight would have been the right thing to do. Perhaps a service charge not the regular rate. Heck we saved you money as the room hasn’t been cleaned and now the cleaning staff have gone home. On top of this we were not informed of the construction. We had to walk through an unsafe construction area to get to our rooms. Although the brand new carpet looks good. The strong smell was very over powering we had to change rooms. Girls were wanting their beds closer together when they did they found chicken wings under the bed.
I wouldn’t recommend this place based on the above.

So booked online because pics looked ok! Well guess what! Lipstick on a pig! That’s what I say. So no temperature control in the first room! Room hot as hell. Call down to front desk his reply was is the window open and it will cool down in 30. Sooo 45 go by and no change, so call back again and they move us to another hot box, only thing better was big window to open to cool off a bit! STAY AWAY! Old hotel needs gutted, only good thing was pool and hot tub!

The pictures show the view from the lodge. The service is beyond amazing. The front desk is really friendly and eager to help. They do go out of their way to make the stay pleasant. The rooms are really well decorated and really comfortable. They are part of the green saving program so you can help the environment while you stay with them if you so choose.

Can't complain, hotel is older and a little rough around the edges, but it is clean and functional. Beds and service were great, free Wi-Fi works well. There is an outdoor hot tub, indoor pool, small gym, and a dry sauna (upstairs near reception)

I thought a lot about my 3 stars but I couldn't jack it up no matter what. For the price that I paid, the rooms are lacking in some things but we were not completely disappointed. Cons 1. Absolutely no light at all. The room that I got was right above the reception area. 2. No standard A/C. There was a mini stand-alone A/C and it was not that good. Usually, we are trouble-free visitors where ever we go. So, I did not bring this up with the management. 3. Internet is not super. Just for bare minimum browsing. Pros 1. Management was good to us. Reception greeted us nicely from time to time. 2. Parking is free. If I had planned a little better, I could have gotten a better room.

This was a very nice hotel. I do not understand the negative reviews it has been getting. My family of 4 emailed in advance as we were worried about the reviews and the customer service was brilliant. We got a really nice room with a good size kitchen, nice living and dining areas and 2 bedrooms; one with a king size bed and one with 2 queen size beds. It also had 1 bathroom and a Sauna! The pool was right outside our door and it was really nice. There was also a good hot tub outside. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. It is also situated about 15mins from the main town.

The hotel is very good. It's outdated but clean. Smells really good and the linens are fresh. Comfy beds and staffs are really nice. The parking is an issue though. We went out for the night and when we came back there's no space for us left. They should have one designated parking for each vehicle. Anything extra should be charged accordingly unless the hotel is not fully booked and there's extra parking.

A very comfortable place to stay. Nice big rooms. Helpful friendly staff. Only 10 minutes away from the centre of jasper by foot.

Quiet clean. Entrances of the independent rooms and for those who have the room on the ground floor car parked in front.
Recepion with young staff kind and oronto to solve the problems.

The view from my room is amazing. The room itself is alright. The window and door let alot of outside noise in but that is tolerable. The service at the front desk was friendly and prompt. I would recommend and visit again in the future.

Wicked cup is probably the best thing about this hotel. Hotel suits your basic needs. Its been updated so it's alright in the aesthetic sense. Beds are pretty comfy but the sheets are so rough from being bleached so much! If you go I recommend requesting a room that is on the inner area (not pool side unless you have kids) and on the second floor as you can hear people walking above you.

Stayed here on a Saturday for one night. We stayed in a pet friendly room. The website says you receive a welcome package — we never received anything. Our room didnt have a thermostat and it was boiling hot in our room we slept with the window wide open. The walls are super thin so you can here every conversation and noise from the other rooms or halls. Seemed cleaned and the room was large, bed was comfy. I think it was a bit over price. They raise their prices on the weekend to high. Parking lot very small. And their poop bag dispensers were all empty around parking lot.

Room was acceptable, if a bit small. Bathroom was pretty dingey. We weren't able to use the hot tub because there is only one and it's pretty small, and was occupied all evening. Location and pricing are great.

Staff is friendly. Soft and comfortable beds. It was also very clean. A little dated and run down, but that definitely doesn’t hurt my opinion. Decent rates. While we were there, the hot tub was broken so that was a little disappointing. On the bright side, they had a little kitchenette in the room which is good because food costs a fortune in Jasper so bring some groceries from home with you!

At Maligne Lodge we had nice spacious and renovated room. We were pleasantly surprised as it doesn't look too exciting from the outside. The front desk staff were very professional and helpful. The only sour point was the thinness of the walls and windows. I could hear the pipes shake, loudly, as the water was run in the room next to us and could hear all the conversation happening outside the windows. Mind you, we stayed on New Year's eve so I may give them a pass and try them again. If it wasn't for the age of the building I would bump the rating as high as 3 & 1/2. The staff and service are definitely the standouts here.

Decided last minute to book a room at a hotel and cancel our hostel. Very glad we did because it was nice to have our privacy. The room was clean and warm, however it could definitely stand to be updated. The shower was difficult to use as it would go from too hot to too cold with just the slightest turn. They did have a mini fridge, however microwaves were only available upon request. It was nice that they had both an electric kettle and a coffee machine, but the complimentary coffee was not good, definitely bring coffee if you plan to stay here. We stayed in a 2 bed room (1 queen, 1 double), but found it odd that the TV was only easily viewable from the double bed, an easy fix I'd they just switched the cupboard and desk around. We loved being on the ground floor because it made it easy to load our gear in and out of the room, however it was odd that the room was carpeted as soon as you walk in, it seemed to get grimy real fast. Lastly, the walls are pretty thin, you can hear your neighbours talking, showers and toilets draining and the train going by, but I'm sure that isn't an easy fix. Definitely passable as a room, but not luxurious by any means.

Great hotel with nice suites that can accommodate family meals. Closest to Marmot and reasonably priced. Outdoor hot tub is in a nice enclosure close to the pool.

Hotel half empty and they gave us a room beside the mechanical room with a roaring motor. Like trying to sleep beside two running jet engines. Internet does not hold. Can connect but can't verify. Can't control heat do it is very hot. But when we voiced our concerns, they gave us very good service. It is a clean place to stay for a reasonable cost We just ran into a bad circumstance.

This is a great little spot! Location is excellent, downtown is a quick and picturesque ten minute walk. The pool is clean and not too chilly. The hot tub temperature is great though the tub itself is outside, next to the parking lot, and always busy. The staff are friendly, helpful, and know exactly where to send you in Jasper for whatever you're looking for (if it's there, of course! ) The Wicked Cup has a great menu and gift shop, though not much for gluten free options. The coffee and tea selections are excellent quality and well made. My only regret is that they're closed at five, so if you want an evening snack or drink it's off-premises for you. Last but not least, the room! Our executive suite was something else. A wood burning fireplace and included firelog, good size TV with cable, full apartment style kitchen, some very cool art, a jetted tub for two, and oh wait — your very own in-room sauna! Beds were comfy, pillows were great, tons of space that could sleep eight people. There were some maintenance issues, like a water stain on the ceiling, beaten up walls and carpet, etc. But that's all to be expected at the end of the busy season. All in all, an excellent experience and we'll be back!

Room was clean and cozy. Had all the facilities we needed (even traveling with a 7 month old). I would like to mention that the door/window had a bad draft and the train woke me up twice in the night. But the staff was great. Next time I'll probably request a pool access or not train facing room.

The lodge is exactly what we needed. Quite and comfortable. The beds are super comfortable and the showers are clean. Thanks for everything Maligne lodge! We had a great time.

The rooms are clean and in order. The fridge was very noisy in our room. For an overnight stay on a round trip definitely OK.
Breakfast in the restaurant which belongs to the hotel is good.

The Lodge is on the south side of town, so a bit out of the way. I appreciate being out of the way where it is quieter. The suites with the kitchenettes are equipped to make basic meals. The rooms are laid out to make the most of the space. Staff is friendly.

The location is at the edge/beginning of the town. It is a good place to stay in the town and visit all the hiking and other things to do in the mountains. The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean. The beds weren't too soft. Overall good experience.

The building is a bit dated, but still has very comfortable rooms. Since the pool was indoor, the chlorine fumes couldn't escape and were very thick. We didn't use the pool. I would have hated to receive a room that was accessible VIA the pool. For these rooms, you step "outside" and you're on the tile floor of the pool area without a barrier. Ick. Almost every breakfast dish at the cafe that could be vegan needed to be modified to be vegan. These options were really limited. The service was hit or miss. One day was great. The next day all 4 of our orders were wrong and had to be sent back and forth to the kitchen. We were also disappointed that the Bread and Breakfast didn't include the breakfast. I would come back to stay, but wouldn't eat at the Cafe.

Huge rooms with comfy beds. It's a short walk to downtown, but being at this end of town means it's a bit quieter with less crowds which is well worth the walk. Would love to come back when the forest fire smoke isn't as bad.

The room was clean, we had a free parking lot in front of our room and the indoor pool was quite fun. Especially the employees were very kind and nice. The team really cares about their guests. Very good hotel.

This place was ok at first. But there was a nail sticking out of the carpet outside the bathroom. The drain for the shower was clogged. The room wasn't properly cleaned between nights. Then the power went out in all rooms as we were getting ready for a wedding and the front desk was less than sympathetic about it. Has a cheap motel level of service.

Good decent rooms. Clean. Pet friendly but will charge extra. Has a kitchen with dishes, microwave, stove/oven, coffee maker. Free Wi-Fi. Recycling bin in the room! Pretty much in downtown Jasper. Wicked cup cafe is attached, and you get a discount at the cafe with the room. Parking is not assigned. First come first serve. With the staff it's hit or miss. You can get someone really nice and helpful. Or you can get someone really nice but not helpful at all. Either doesn't want to help or doesn't know how. But just go back and ask someone else. Has a swimming pool and sauna. I got a two bed for 4 people. It's a 1 bedroom, pretty spacious and comfortable. No ventilators in the bathroom. Just a ceiling fan in the bedroom. AC in the hall where the 2 second bed is located. They maybe need to do a few upgrades if possible.

I'm not sure if it was just our room, but the knobs that altered the temperature of the shower came loose. Then, we waited for an hour until the repairman came to fix it. We were short of towels, too, and it took a bit of time to get a few more. The next night, it was faster. However, overall, I think that the service wasn't the best. I saw a hot tub and there is probably a pool but I never went there, so I can't tell you about that. The beds we're pretty comfortable. Keep in.

My husband and I spent two night on May 13 and 14th. We were happy with our accommodations, but discovered soon after we unpacked that there was a heat in our room. We were given the opportunity to move to another room, but we had already unpacked. The management gave us a space heater which gave us enough heat through the night. The next night, heat was restored to our room. We were given four free breakfasts at the Wicked Cup, the adjoining restaurant. The breakfasts were outstanding. We would recommend the Maligne Lodge and the Wicked Cup for future travelers. We didn't have to go on a hike to see wildlife. There was an elk on the lawn at the apartments next door.

My friend and I came through Jasper for the night and were having trouble finding a hotel with vacancy but luckily the Maligne Lodge had room for us! It was a little further from the main shops and restaurants than some other hotels but we had a car so it wasn't a problem, and we were definitely grateful to have found anything at all! The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and it was a good temperature. It was all we needed for an impromptu overnight stay!

We just wrapped up a 7 day stay at Maligne Lodge. I had two 11 year olds and 2 dogs in tow. We really enjoyed the location and the staff at reception was very friendly, helpful and efficient. Our nice sized room with a kitchen area and bar fridge was perfect for our needs. The kids really enjoyed the hot tub and the pool too. The Wicked Cup restaurant and retail coffee shop was excellent as well. You can pick up organic teas and coffees and so much more. Thanks to the Wicked Cup team as the great food, coffee and service will have us returning again and again. I would highly recommend the Maligne Lodge for a short or extended stay.

Located conviniencely in Jasper. Very close to downtown area. You can walk to restaurants and gift shop in town. Room and facility are old but well maintained. Staff are nice. Some rooms are wierd located around inside pool. Avoid those.

The Hotel was good for the price in Jasper. Good Service, too. Only the Wi-Fi was quite slow in our room.

As soon as I walked in the room there were four ants in the bathroom. The Wi-Fi reception is alright. However the location is beautiful, right next to walking paths. The restaurant on site is a must go, their food is delicious.

You get what you pay for. It is a good place to stay if you need a hot shower and a place to crash. Location-wise, you are 5 min. Walking to the middle of the town which is a lot closer than some other accommodations. The check-in and check-out process was smooth. Wifi can be a bit iffy sometimes. It worked 90% of the time. It is super dark in the room. You need to turn on all the lights to get a decent lit room. The in-room A/C is nice to have. They have butt-out stations for smokers everywhere. Even near your non-smoking room. When you turn on the fan, the intake pulls that smell into your room. TV has a nice selection of channels. Overall, it was an okay stay, but the place looks like it can use a facelift. The sinking bed and the broken electrical outlets don't contribute to a great stay.

Easy access off of the highway. Pool and hot tub wereally great. Room was. Comfy as well.

We stayed in a 2 queen bedroom room. The room was clean. The staff was friendly. The toiletries were very good! Very functional rooms with fridge and coffee machine. There was a lack of electrical outlets though. Very good value for the room. Would come here again.

The room was clean (no stains bad smells). The decor was up to date and for being on a room next to the pool there was some good noise isolation. In the night there was no annoying clicking sounds (of which I experienced at the tonquin). The free breakfast was good and I enjoyed the service at the Wicked Cup (the restaurant). Overall it was a great stay and the entire experience was enjoyable.

Stayed here twice. Clean and organized. Great views from the room with plenty of parking. Staff is very helpful. Gave 4 stars because took the same room in two visits (more than a year apart) but the bathroom fan was still not fixed.

Very friendly and ckean. However, the place is in need of some updates. The baseboard heater made noises all night and the stove wasn't completely functional.

Comfortable beds and seems like the rooms have been recently renovated. Wicked cup restaurant had a great breakfast and post ski snacks. Rooms are small, but this is expected in places like Jasper and Banff.

Rooms were quite nice for the price, and free Wi-Fi was a plus. However you could hear everything that was happening outside your room like people talking/running water in other rooms and footsteps on the stairs all night. Breakfast & coffee at the attached restaurant was fantastic.

A bit pricey, but I think that Jasper is generally quite expensive to stay in. This is on the outer edge of the city, so it's a bit quieter, and everything is walkable. The hotel (or motel rather) is pretty old, but the rooms have been renovated and are quite nice inside. The old gripe I had about our room was that the bathroom is dark and the Ac was loud. If you have an old to pay a couple bucks more for breakfast, I'd recommend it. They have a cafe attached, where you are not limited to the buffet, but rather can order directly from a menu. The food and coffee here was great.
