I am actually very disappointed in my experience at the Sutton Place hotel. I had booked my stay over a year in advance in preparation for my wedding day in the Royal Suite and the adjoining room. I called the day before to inquire about parking services for my hair/makeup team. They told me to add their names to a list so they would be given keys instead of me having to come down at 5am. I also called the day before my check in and asked if early check in was available. The person on the phone informed me the room was already prepped and ready for check in so I could arrive at anytime. Imagine my disappointment when I arrived at 1:00pm and they told me they weren't ready due to "fixing the windows. " This was the day before my wedding, so I had a lot of things to do. Prepping the room for my bridesmaids and I was one of the things on my list of a million other things. I had to wait a half an hour of time I didn't have to have access to the room. I was then told there had been a mix up and the adjoining room was occupied due to a booking error. I was extremely upset by this as I wanted everyone to have access to the suite and be together. The staff tried to accommodate this by providing me with two other rooms across the hall, but I do not feel this had the same effect that I had imagined or wanted. I also did not need the two extra rooms and the staff kept hinting that I wouldn't have to pay for the extra room… that I didn't need.

Solid hotel. Nice rooms and beds. Good location to the mall with access to food. I do wonder if the thermostats will ever be renewed?

We love the Sutton in Vancouver and booked the Sutton with a level of service in mind. Front desk staff were very nice and did attempt to make our stay better. When we got to our room there was garbage left from previous guests on the desk and window. When I sat down on the bed it looked liked the pillow had been dragged on the sidewalk. Later when I moved a towel in the bathroom I discovered a large pile of nail clippings. We were looking forward to using the pool that was supposed to be open at 2 but didn't open closer to 6. Most TV channels did not work and internet did not work for us eaither. No alarm clock. Parking cost is $39 a night I believe.

Very confortable. Quite fancy accommodations. Affordable prices. Exceptional customer service. Clean and cozy.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of downtown Edmonton within walking distance to many Edmonton tourist destinations. Parking is expensive, but street parking on nearby streets are cheap/free. Event night parking is another question, if it is a normal night parking after 6pm is free, it is also free on Sundays and holidays (check the signs/payment machine). Had very good luck parking next to the law courts.

Kind of pricey for what you get but I suppose that's the going rate for downtown Edmonton. We were upgrated to a "freshly renovated room. " It was nice but looked almost exactly the same as our friends non-reno room. Bed was comfortable but the cleanliness could definitely improve though…

Stopped by the restaurant Chop located inside the hotel. Food was excellent and service was great. They had an odd arrangement where the kitchen is upstairs and food is sent down with the server down a flight of stairs. Seems precarious but the servers are aware of this. Excellent ambiance and great bar.

The location of this hotel is its saving grace. Its within walking distance of Rogers place, the city center mall, and multiple shops and pubs. The Chop restaraunt in the lobby is good, but the Rose and Crown pub in the MNP lobby is the real gem, and I would stay here again just for this pub. The room was "upgraded" on the top floor, but it was dirty in every corner and not very special. It cost us $450 for two nights including self parking. Good downtown hotel but could be improved.

Was there for a wedding. There was a wedding buffet and they could not keep up with replenishing the food. Otherwise it was a great venue.

This is by far the worst hotel I have ever been at. My room was scheduled to be ready for 3:00, it is now 9:08 and it is still not ready. I’ve had to wait in the lobby with all of my stuff not being able to go anywhere. While I am waiting I hear that they had double booked two separate people (different occasions but same day) I have never seen such a terrible place to stay. If you want to actually use a hotel and not sit in the lobby or walk into “your room” with someone else sleeping in your bed saying he’s already in that room then don’t stay here. Side note there is people stuck in the elevator as this happens. Just talked to the front desk and they gave away my room. I am extremely disappointed at this “hotel”.

We're here for a professional event. The room to market well for us and the hotel staff were professional. But the Internet was terrible. For a conference it is not ideal.

The staff was extremely nice, let me check in 3 hours earlier. Room was clean and renovated, but the appliences were terrible: old and dirty coffee maker and iron that leaves stains on clothes. Otherwise my stay was good, nice views from the room, an OK breakfast, proximity to everything in downtown.

Old, dated with no proper parking of their own. Not impressed. Location is the only thing going for them.

Stood in a long line over an hour to check in, I have traveled a lot and this is by far the longest I've had to wait to check in, mind you when I finally got to the front of the line only took a few minutes. Missed dinner reservations due to this. Parking is $39 a night, ridiculous. Room was clean however and beds were decent. Had some drinks in the attached restaurant which were good. Quick walk to Rogers place.

I've been in a lot of places around the world in many different hotels, but this one is the worst hotel I've ever booked. Sometimes they don't give you the complementary water, the breakfast is horrible they put boiled egg in the sink along with the yogurt!. The prices are expensive compared to what they offer. And last thing the hotel kitchen does not operate at midnight! What kind of 5 stars hotel do this? I mean how did they get the 5 stars rating?!

I pass through the Sutton all the time during the work day and often find myself stopping in at lunch for something to eat at the steakhouse. The food is delicious and the service is always prompt. They also have a fantastic little cafe downstairs I love to get cookies from (their brownies are so good ans moist). And I've attended a few seminars in their event rooms and always enjoyed the set-up of the tables, how easy it is to hear the speakers, and the prompt lunch service. I highly recommend visiting sometime.

Marvellous Hotel, staff were absolutely excellent. Very friendly & helpful right from check in to check out! Most comfortable hotel mattress I have ever slept on. Unique location with shopping right within the hotel. I highly recommend it!

The hotel is nice. The rooms are the perfect size. Not too big and not too small. The staff is friendly. The underground hotel parking is hard to find, had to park outside in front (where we aren’t supposed to park) and run inside for quick instructions on how to find the underground parking. The underground parking costs money and inset included in your stay. The hotel is literally attached to the mall right across the street which connects by an indoor passage on the second floor. There is a pool and gym on the very top floor which has an amazing view of the city skyline. However last time I was there it was under renovation and was given a voucher to the gym in the mall across the street. Other than that, the hotel is in a great location and is close to pretty much everything.

My friends and I were in town to attend a concert at Rogers Place. We chose the Sutton Place hotel to stay in for one night because it was only 2 blocks away. The hotel rooms were nice and spacious, clean and with all the amenities you would expect. The only gripe I have is that there was a $30 additional charge of you wanted to use their parking garage. Parking should be included in the base room price. I would consider staying here again just for how convenient it is to walk to the arena.

The room we were in was perfect, it was a good mix of elegant, spacious and fun. Service was good and the food was acceptable. I wish my own dietary needs were better represented but overall the taste was there and everything was fresh. I really enjoyed the desserts, it was pretty diverse with selections ranging from cookies and cakes to pie and cheeses There was fruit and a lovely bread pudding that I didn't get to try. They provided a mock-casino for everyone to enjoy. Everything was well kept and clean, seats were comfortable and the tables were well adorned. I never liked folding tables, especially the round ones because 2 seats on each side have no where for your feet to go when you sit. I realize they have limited options, I'm just not a fan. I liked the overall setup and the hotel is beautiful. I would go there again in a heartbeat.

Beautiful hotel, convenient downtown location with lots of parking nearby. Meeting / banquet halls are very nice and the food served was very good. The service was very attentive and professional.

Great stay. Rooms were comfortable and clean, staff were friendly and helpful. Chop Steakhouse in the lobby was also great. Easy access to underground parking. (Extra charge) Would definitely stay here again.

This was one of my best stays ever at a hotel. The staff is super friendly and makes an effort to remember each guest for more personalized service. Dogs are allowed for a $135 damage deposit, and an additional $35 for the entire duration of the stay. Much better than places that charge $25/night!

Very unsatisfied with my stay, I made my reservation 5 months in advance for 2 rooms with a king size bed. I then received 2 rooms with 2 double beds in the room, NO bath robes either. I arrived at 1pm but had to wait in the lobby until 3 for my king size room when I could have checked in as soon as possible and received 2 double beds. So they basically made me wait around for 2 hours and then late for my concert. Also there was no ice machine on my floor.

Good place, something strange the distribición of the hotel… missing food Oociones.

I stayed at the Sutton for one night and will definitely return. The staff, especially Haidar from room service and Kaylee at the front desk were amazing, helpful and very caring. The morning staff-reception and the bell hop — also unbelievably helpful and genuinely interested in their guests. Wish I had all their names. The room was very comfortable — shower was awesome, but the bed and pillows were the most comfortable I've ever slept on. I even slept in!. I go to Edmonton quite frequently and know where I'm going to stay from now on.

Very impressed with this hotel. We held two meetings here this week. The staff was MORE than attentive, always ready to help, easy to make adjustments, it helped our meetings move forward smoothly. The hotel and meeting rooms are nice and clean. The food we had onsite with the hotel was amazing. Wasn't impressed with the food quality at the Chop Restaurant on-site, but everything that had to do with the hotel food was great! Thank you!

The only thing this place has going for it is the location. It was a very easy and short walk to Rogers Place for any concerts or other events. Other than that, this hotel is vastly overrated and we will never be returning. Let's start with the room. The windows were so filthy you couldn't even see out of them. From talking to other guests it appears they haven't been cleaned in years. For a high rise in a downtown area I don't see how this is deemed acceptable by the hotel, there is just no excuse. There was no fan in the bathroom, which made the whole room feel like a rain forest any time someone used the shower and the room smelled very musty. The air conditioner was also broken and would not shut off. When we arrived it was set to 11 degrees! When we turned up the thermostat it did not do much to change the temperature, and the unit just made loud creaking and gurgling noises for the entirety of our stay. The beds were fine and it looks like they did some updating but obviously skimped out on some things such as the A/C and new doors (ours were very thin and the paint was chipping). Moving on to the service. I have never been so shocked by housekeeping at a hotel as I was here. Our first morning here we discovered that we did not have a "do not disturb" sign to put on our doorknob. When housekeeping knocked, we politely said now was not a good time and that we would be leaving the room shortly.

Mediocre at best for the price. Very close to Rogers which is great but the rooms are very dated. There were water stains everywhere and some strange blue box that was used to "clean the air". There was no thermostat in the room and the bedding was damp. When checking in we asked about the pool and was told that it wasn't open until 6am the next day due to renovations. About 5 minutes after we got to the room, the phone rang and the man said they made a mistake and the pool wasn't going to be open until 9am, not 6am. When we got back to the room after an evening out, our room keys no longer worked so we needed to go to the front desk to have them reset. On the elevator back up the gentleman said he was going to close the pool doors for the night… *eyeroll* Seemed like no-one knew what was going on. No breakfast included and the little coffee shop had very limited selection.

The place is absolutely wonderful. There is a Chop restaurant in the lobby which is great for drinks and apps. Even though there is a always a crowd the place is quiet for a good night's rest. Room as clean. They are undergoing a few renovations but nothing thought hat disturbs the guests. They have made alternative reservation for gym and pool facility. Very close to Rogers place and other attractions.

I stayed here for a business trip. The price a night I found very high. Would have been useful if the airport shuttle was included as my taxi was 55$ one way. The room is nice. Continental breakfast is very healthy. The lobby is very modern and the staff are very helpful. The gym was under renovations but they allowed us to use the one in the mall at no extra charge.

The prices on the menu at the Rose and Crown are incorrect. Too hot in the restaurant.

Only stayed 1 night, but overall pretty good. The executive room with King bed was nice. Bathroom is plenty large. Small details like updates to the bathroom, bigger tub/shower in executive suite and larger TV'S would be better. Front desk tracked down a cork screw for us in the middle of the night which was appreciated.

Claims to be a 5 star hotel, but is more like a 3 star hotel at best! The incorrect rating is what upsets me the most! When you advertise that you're a 5 star hotel, I expect service, quality and cleanliness worthy of a 5 star hotel. I have stayed in 2 star Travelodges with better quality of service! We requested for extra towels and no one bothered to gives us any. The room was dusty, there's no fan in the washroom and there's mould in the bathtub area. The bed was too soft and the pillows are too big! Additionally, they also have the audacity of charging $31/day for parking because "they are run by a 3rd party group"! Note: we parked 1 block away for $8.00 max a night! The location convenience is a plus; however, there are better hotels in downtown to stay at (who are honest about their hotel rating).

Hotel clean, good service, nice pool but very basic gym.

The beds were wonderful, my sleep was fantastic. My biggest love about staying at Sutton place was the shower… it was just fantastic. I wish I could live there forever.

Very poor customer service. I booked over Expedia paid in full and they could not find my reservation even with my itinerary number. Once I called Expedia they called the hotel and called me back saying it was rectified yet I am still sitting in the lobby now at the back of the line. I've now been here for 40 min and have not checked in. Off to a great start!

The rooms are nice, but the AC doesn't work very well. We waited a couple hours for the staff to bring a fan, and only did when we asked if it was coming a second time. Only then did they offer us a different room. The AC barely worked in that one, but we were too tired to move again.

Arrived and was informed that I had been given a complimentary upgrade to an executive suite. Was told there was also a fruit plate for me in the room. The room was very nice, up on the 22nd floor. There was no fruit plate but as I was just dropping bags off and going out to dinner, it really didn't matter. Staff were pleasant and explained all the services available. Will definitely look at staying again in the future.

When we checked into the hotel we were informed that the hot tub was under renovation. We were disappointed to hear this but my wife thought she could use the bath tub instead. Our room didn't have a bath tub, so we asked to move and were accommodated. My wife took a bath, but when I tried to use the shower water would only come out of the tap, not the showerhead. We had to move yet again to a room that had working water fixtures. Other than that the staff are very friendly and the hotel is nice and clean.

The Sutton place hotel was a wonderful venue for the lpca convention! Staff was professional, helpful and courtesy! The building such as the elevator and the front desk lobby are dated but the rest of the hotel is Beautifully modernised. The rooms are beautiful with amazingly comfy beds and very modern.

The location is quite nice, the amenities are decent. Service was pretty good. However, hot water is turned on at a very specific time, so you have to fit your shower into their schedule. Parking is also quite expensive, be prepared to spend above $30 per night.

The hotel has a great location and the rooms are big with comfortable beds. Once the elevators are fixed it'll be perfect.

Besides ridiculous wait times on the elevator, a very nice hotel. Staying for an event this weekend and changed booking from chateau lacombe to sutton because of better prices. Very comfortable beds and quiet halls, overall pleased with my stay.

It's a good experience but the parking cost too.

Older building but was impressed with the cleanliness and how well it has been maintained. The price was fantastic and was a great location. Parking was a little rediculas but convienant.

Elegant design. Has everything you want. Infrastructure is old so water drains, lighting, and even elevators are very very outdated.

This place is run down. If you have allergies than stay away, the rooms are heated by a central system that obviously hasn't been cleaned judging by the caked on dust from the vents. It's places like this that make me dislike Edmonton.

Well, hotel was really nice'n quiet, clean, front desk people were nice. But I booked this hotel for 2 adult and one child (she is almost 12 years old) and we got one king size bedroom. One bed for 3 of us! I couldn't believe that! We were too tired to complain about that and we had too many things to move. We stayed in that room two nights and of course we couldn't sleep well. I'm not sure if this is hotel's fault or hotwire's booking mistake. secondly the hotel location was downtown Edmonton and there are many drank or homeless? people walking around at night and felt bit scared. Also, we had to park outside parking lot (we had a roof rack on our car and didn't fit hotel's under ground parking) and still we had to pay $26/ night. I felt that was bit too much.

Rooms are very dated, and not the cleanest. Amenities are also not the best for the price and star rating. Doesn't qualify as a 3.5. Star hotel. Service was pretty good though and having the CHOP steakhouse right nest to the lobby. Hotel location isn't bad either.
